Forest Ridge Dental - General dentist in Shingle Springs, CA

I was born and raised in Sacramento, California. My wife, Beth, and I felt that Cameron Park would be a great area to raise our family so we moved here in 1997. We feel very lucky to have found such a wonderful community to raise our 2 boys Brendan, 19, and Mason, 17. After graduating from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo in 1987, I attended the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco and received my dental degree in 1991. I really enjoyed cosmetic dentistry and wanted to be sure I could provide a wide spectrum of care to my patients so I attended training and received an implant certificate from the Las Vegas Dental Implant Institute in 2004. I received an advanced certificate for applications of implants in January of 2009. I continue to expand my knowledge of implants and other areas of dentistry by attending continuing education courses on bone grafting, sinus lift procedures, as well as all areas of general dentistry.

I enjoy spending time with Beth, who I have been married to since 1996, and my 2 boys. As a family, we have been very active in the Boy Scouts of America Troop 117 in Shingle Springs, and we are very proud of our boys who are both Eagle Scouts. Giving back to the community is important to me so I sponsor the Ponderosa High School mountain bike team, the ski team and band program. I enjoy boating, camping, and my current fun project, which is rebuilding a 1974 Ford Bronco.

I grew up in Pleasanton, California, and played baseball during High School. I graduated from Saint Marys College of California, magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. I then attended Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine in Glendale, Arizona where I earned my Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D) degree. My passion for helping others and love of science inspired me to become a dentist. It was not until I assisted the local oral surgeons and general dentists that I really felt the impact of treating patients with quality care. Observing the transformation of someones smile and the impact it has on ones self-confidence and oral health made a huge impact on me. I am very excited to provide high-quality dental care to the people of Cameron Park and the surrounding areas and helping them achieve a beautiful smile.

I LOVE this guy!!! I cracked my tooth and called my regular family dentist, but they couldn't fit me in. Forrest Ridge Dental front desk staff and hygienist squeezed me in so that I wouldn't have to deal with sensitivity from the broken tooth! I received a full set of x-rays and Forrest explained everything that needed to happen today and maybe in the future if I wished. He was super nice super attentive (I have TMJ) and made sure I didn't feel a thing! I have no hesitation about returning because I know I'll be well taken care of here!

I'm actually scared of dentists!! A brief attending (more like butchering) of military dental offices had engrained a fear within me that made me avoid dentists like the plague. However, Dr. Boozer re-installed my faith in humanity, and helped me to overcome that fear. His patient attitude, calm demeanor, as well as his corny jokes :), truly makes me feel safe in his care. Also, my reason for 'singing his praises' is not just for him; it's his whole team! The entire office! Even the staff are friendly, caring, and respectful. You're immediately greeted by big beautiful smiles upon entering the dental office. I love the 'old school' customer service they give. From the top to the bottom, the entire team has caring, respectful attitudes towards their customers. Dr. Boozer and Beth have honestly created the best dentistry team in El Dorado county. If you're fortunate enough to visit them , count your blessings! I actually look forward to my next visit. Thank you Forest Ridge Dental.

For years, I have had issues with dentists since a child, was always put off by dental work, either hurt, bled for days afterward, surprises with costs etc... well, those days are gone... Im 56, bought a house 9 years ago in cameron park and love it. I always knew eventually i would have to see the dentist, and the "house on the hill" driving on cambridge road saying Forest RIdge Dental, I figured they would be the ones who I would have to check out. My first experience was daunting, as I wasnt sure about going to the dentist to begin with, but they all made me feel comfortable, had a great atmosphere, the staff and owners were always kind. SInce I started going there, I had some teeth to fix, and knew that was the next step into really diving into my dental issues, and I was mentally prepared for it because they prepped me about the choices and options, explained to me the pain level (just about non existant throughout), and what i needed to do to make this a success. (My biggest fear was the pain in my gums and teeth) I had periodontal disease, my gums bled when i brushed and some places were touchy. My first procedure was a deep clean on both sides, a trip that took (2) times to acheive. I think the key to not having pain is: 1. the numbing gel they use prior to the injections, helped immensely but here, they put the gel in, and when they do the injection, it seriously feels only like a tiny little pinch for a second... a few of those and its done, thats probably the worst of the entire process for me, and between 1 to 10, 10 being the worst pain.. i say it was a 2... The deep cleans, well, anything I felt during that wasnt anything I can really remember, though It was uncomfortable, it was nothing i could complain about, and at the end of it all, worked out great, my gums havent bled in months now since that time, though I do take a serious approach nowadays to my gums. My dentist is Dr. Khoury, amazing guy! next procedure was a bridge ( had a black lab i was rough housing with and he jumped up and knocked my front tooth loose, it grew wonky over the years). Dr. Khoury removed 4 front teeth (which again, I was terrified but it needed to be done anyway) along with a bone graft. When I told some friends i had to get a bone graft, the optimism left the conversation, as they all told me " man, your going to be in pain for days etc"... well, seriously, I had the procedure done, and yes, there was some uncomfortable time afterwards at home, I cant consider it as pain though, I dont know what to really consider what happened other than no pain in the sense of it hurting and my head pounding, thats not how it felt at all... so, i came home and went to bed and waitied till the next morning.. I woke up and i couldnt believe it, I had zero pain, sure, i was missing my teeth and had a bone graft, and it was healing (couldnt eat normal things for a few days) but important thing was, no pain! Dr. Khoury made sure of that! Last week, I went in for a new bridge and it came out great! All I can say is this is the place to go for professionalism and care/treatment. They have the latest devices to help the healing process happen faster and all the proper tools to get the work done properly.. There is no way I will be seeing anyone else for cleanings or any future work because I know they are going to take care of me! As for costs, well, its the dentist lol, its up there, but when hiring a contractor to work on my house, I want the most qualified, and that costs more than the handyman outfits... Im not dealing with dentists who dont care about how im going to feel afterwards, Forest Ridge does! There is so much more I can write, especially about the staff and personell, all I can say is that each person working there is a fine human being, and I am impressed! (They didnt give me any discounts for giving this feedback, I truely feel this way) and I am open to answering any questions anyone may have about my experiences at this dental office! Thank you Dr. Khoury and Thank you everyone at Forest RIdge Dental!!

Stumbled into Forest Ridge Dental and do not regret the decision. Since I do not have insurance, I decide to move forward with the $400/ year plan which had great incentives. For my cleaning, Nikki did an amazing Job. Unfortunately I had a few cavities and needed fillings and a crown. But Dr. Khoury his assistant Jenni did a very good job with all the work.

I have been coming to Dr. Boozer for many years now and have had no issues with either the office staff, treating staff or Dr. Boozer. Nikki does a phenomenal job on cleaning my teeth and educating me on their current condition, Dr. Boozer is upbeat and honest and detailed and Lexie runs a tight but friendly and efficient ship at the front desk. I won't see any other dentist until Dr. Boozer retires and makes me have to!

Nikki is an amazing hygenist. She made x-rays (my biggest phobia) bearable. Dr. Boozer was friendly and knowledgeable. Overall I couldn't ask more of a dentist. Had a very long over due cleaning done. About to go back for fillings but so glad I made it in. They're amazing. Facility is clean and modern. Also Lexi upfront helped me so much with my new insurance. Love these guys!

New to the community, my daughter referred me to Forest Ridge Dental. I needed a number of procedures and did not know what to expect. Forest Detail's staff made me feel extremely comfortable. Dr. Khoury carefully walked me through a plan to fit my needs. I have had three procedures so far that were a piece cake, due to Jenni's (RDA) and Dr. Khoury's professional care. I am HAPPY with my new smile and highly recommend that you contact Forest Ridge if you want to feel welcome and relaxed.

I've been with this dental group for several years. They are all very competent, professional, and concerned. They always thoroughly explain all procedures and charges, and answer all questions. The environment is very comfortable and super-clean. Nicest staff I've ever done business with in any organization. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a new or better dentist.

This is the first dentist in my 55 years that I have ever enjoyed going to. Everyone is kind and considerate, straightforward and have your best interest at heart. Dr. Boozer has a knowledge base that surprises me every time. He knows just what you need, and has a gentle caring hand. You can tell everyone in the office really enjoys what they do.

If I could give them zero stars I would. My stepson went in recently for a regular check up and they told him he had seven cavities. They had not conducted any X-rays, this was all determined by the dentist looking in his mouth. When I heard this I immediately set up an appointment with my dentist to get a second opinion. They conducted full X-rays and my step-son didn't have ANY cavities. This practice is very concerning that they are making up dental work clearly for money and should be reported to the dental board, which I plan to do. I would highly recommend you find another dental practice.

In 2017 I went to Dr. Boozer who found a large filling I had needed to be replaced with a crown. When the crown came in, he had a technician fit the tooth. Unfortunately she took took too much off the tooth which resulted in the tooth leaving a large gap between my teeth which held food every time I ate. Dr. Boozer saw this problem for years and NEVER offered to do a proper fitting. As a result, I have lost bone in that area and had to have the crown replaced at my expense. This clearly shows a lack of patient care and ethics and probably still uses under trained technicians to do work he would be performing. What really bothers me is he never took responsibility for the error knowing it would create problems down the road. I would never recommend this dentist to anyone as he has you in and out as fast as possible and the work is shoddy at best.
