Always quick and courteous. Cleanings are thorough and more intensive dental work is professional. What I like best is that they won't steer you toward getting a bunch of cosmetic work done, which is a growing trend in Austin based on other practices I've been to.

Dr. Bethel is the best dentist I've ever had. He's such a cool guy, and genuinely fun to talk to. It's honestly one of my favorite parts of the year to go see him. The hygienists are fantastic, too, and offer quality tips on taking care of your teeth. I owe it to Dr. Bethel and his crew alone for getting me in the habit of flossing regularly.

Front desk is friendly and efficient. My hygienist has the right touch, very nice, and wasn't scolding. Dr. Disla is such a wonderful human being. His personality and demeanor also come through with all of his staff. I highly recommend.

If you haven't been to the dentist in a long time and you wanna go but you might be scared this is the place to go. I suffer from anxiety but the nurse and Dr. Helmick we're a game changer. Super friendly and very understanding about my situation. They took care of me and made me feel comfortable. I will definitely recommend this place!!

As someone who has had some terrible experiences in the past with dentists & oral surgeons, I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with the professionalism and care that all the staff exhibited. They took extra effort to listen to my concerns and explain everything to me. They several times stopped to ask if I had questions or concerns. Both the hygienist and Dr. Erik Meckel we're attentive and compassionate. I definitely recommend them.

I had a wonderful first time visit today and definitely will be getting all my dental work done here. I saw Dr. Sussan Helmick. She was awesome and explained our plan in great detail. Highly recommend

When I first visited forest family they were amazing, organized, and fun to be at. Over the last few months they have gained and lost a couple dentists and front staff so I was thrown around to different providers (car accident caused me to need 2 root canals). I had to go back 4 different times for just one crown. That permanent crown fell out only short months later and they tried to charge me with it still being under warranty for the FOURTH time. There is an AMAZING dental assistant that I have been with this entire time and she is the reason I have stayed with first forest family for so long. They really need to get a solid staff again.

Updating my review for 2022. Previous review is below. I still feel the way I did in 2019. Had a great experience today and my hygienist was incredibly gentle with my teeth. When I explained that polishing is the hardest part of getting my teeth cleaned, she gave me the option of pursuing it and explained why it was important to my oral health. When I decided to proceed after her explanation, she went quickly and used a lower amount of polish to reduce discomfort. This level of service and empathy is unprecedented and I will not go to any other dentists in Austin so long as I live here. Been here several times now over the past 2 years and had great experiences every time. They have headphones and a TV bolted to the ceiling so you can watch Netflix while your hygienist works, and they always do a great job. They will monitor your teeth and not create "cavities" where non exist, which alot of other dentists will do. Each time I have left they offered an additional product, like teeth whitening or bite guard, that I didnt need but could benefit from. And when they offered these, they were always very clear that it was my decision and not pushy. They take the time to explain your results and even their front desk is comfortable covering the results of your exams with you if you have any questions. Last, the office is just plain cute and covered with pictures of woodland animals in human clothes. It's a very welcoming environment run by ethical people and i would recommend it to everyone I know.

This is a lovely office and the staff are really outstanding. My Dentist Dr. Hegwood is so personable and I have much respect for her. She referred me to an office that deals strictly with Implants to accomodate my specific needs in that area. She, however will do my other dental procedures. I love this office. The vibe is soothing and calming and the staff are just down right cool individuals. The waiting room is built for little kids with an elegant design and it has a classy feel and everything is very down to earth. The front desk staff are very informative. Give them a call and let them help you.

I've visited Forest Family Dentistry and years and recommend it to my friends. The care I get is excellent. They've got state of the art equipment, the cleanings are very thorough, and they're nice about issues you may have...not sure what else you want from a dentist other than perhaps easier scheduling. They are really popular so you have to get appointments really far out.
