Forefront Dentistry is led by Nathan D. Powell, DDS. A native of Northeast Oklahoma, Dr. Powell grew up in Tulsa with his parents and younger brother and graduated from high school in 2005. The following fall, he began attending Oral Roberts University (ORU), where he met his future wife Sarah and they wed in 2008. Dr. Powell graduated Summa Cum Laude from ORU with a Bachelors degree in Biomedical Chemistry in 2009. Four years later, he completed his studies with honors from The University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry, receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Dr. Powell went on to be accepted into a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. This residency consisted of a rigorous curriculum with special emphasis on dental implant placement, advanced cosmetic dentistry, and modern dental technology. After successfully completing his residency Dr. Powell returned to his home city to start his practice in 2014 and now resides in Broken Arrow with his wife Sarah and their two dogs, Abby and Remy.
The first smiling face that you see when you walk through the door of Forefront Dentistry is Sarah Powell. Sarah has been serving as the Front Office Manager of Forefront since September 2014 and absolutely loves connecting with patients, answering their questions, and guiding them through their dental treatment. It may surprise patients that working in a dental office was never in Sarahs plans. Sarah pursued a Theological Historical Studies degree from Oral Roberts University where she met Dr. Powell. They were married in July 2008 and moved to Oklahoma City in June 2009 for Dr. Powell to begin dental school. During those years, Sarah began working for the Bank of Oklahoma where she started as a teller and later had the opportunity to move into branch management. This practical experience opened her eyes to the possibility of being able to help Dr. Powell in the office with her accounting strengths and her heart for people.. It was the beginning of a very exciting time of dreaming and planning their future together. To her own amazement, she grew to love working in the office, problem-solving, and caring for patients like family. She is Dr. Powells biggest fan and looks forward to continuing to strive for Forefronts success for years to come.
Dr. Powell is very grateful to have Kimmy McClain our main Dental Assistant as his teammate through his dental procedures. Kimmy came to Oklahoma from New Jersey, hoping for a new adventure, and found herself attending Owasso Dental Assisting Academy. Shortly after starting her dental career with Forefront Dentistry in February 2015, Kimmy grew to love dentistry, particularly surgical procedures. She enjoys the work of removing decay and infection to better patients health and relieve their pain. Kimmy views one of her strengths as a dental assistant to be her personal experience with having quite a bit of dental work done herself. She finds herself connecting with patients by assuring them that she understands what it is like to be the patient in the chair, explaining the various kinds of procedures, and easing patients apprehensions by telling them what to expect. A few fun facts about Kimmy include: that she is from a large family. She has four brothers, 1 sister, and 19 nieces and nephewswith more on the way. Kimmy also has a lot of pets: dogs Ruby and Lilly, cats Crush and Asa, and a tank full of fish. In March 2020, Kimmy married the love of her life and best friend, Brendan McClain.
I was privileged to have Dr. Powell in some of my Biology classes while he was an undergraduate student at ORU. He is the same today as he was then - a person of integrity, compassion, diligence, and dependability; he's trustworthy; he's a servant-leader; he's a well-balanced person who seeks excellence in everything he does

Great team! They truly care about their patient family! It took us way to long to find a dentist in Tulsa area. Dr. Powell and his team is where you need to go if you have any dental needs! They are ready to help, with the most kind and informed care you will ever receive!

Very welcoming and helpful staff. The hygienist "Brandi" was awesome and spent closed to 1 hour on my teeth. In the past, I clean my teeth by hygienists frequently and the longest time was 30 minutes. She is clearly honest at her job. Dr. Nathan was very nice and answered all of my questions. Highly recommended this place.
