Dentistry is the perfect blend of science and art. If done well, it can be life- changing. I obtain a great deal of satisfaction in exceeding patient expectations. When a patient can go from feeling the need to hide their teeth from others to being able to show off their beautiful smile, it is palpable and emotional.

I enjoy all aspects of dentistry; I take a great deal of pride in delivering quality pain-free care in all areas. Cosmetic dentistry is my passion; when a patient goes from being ashamed to show their teeth at all to having a Hollywood smile, it is life changing. I live for those moments!

Originally from the Lowcountry and a Cum Laude graduate of Summerville High School, I attended Charleston Southern University, where I received a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Chemistry and minoring in Business Administration. My curiosity in science drove me to pursue a career in the field, and I worked as a chemist for the Bayer Corporation for nearly eight years.

During this time, I chose to receive orthodontic treatment, and my life changed forever. The feeling I had when I first looked in the mirror after having my braces were removed was overwhelming and profound; although my teeth were only somewhat crooked prior to braces, my end-result was incredibly well done and it transformed my appearance. I felt pure joy! It was at that moment that I knew I wanted to give other people that same feeling.

Ongoing continuing education helps us to keep up with the ever-changing world of dentistry. Technology has changed by leaps and bounds in the past decade, and staying current with the trends in the profession helps me to deliver the highest-quality care to our patients.

My wife Erin and I are fortunate to live close to many relatives including nieces and nephews in the Upstate and the Lowcountry. When Im not at work or with my family and friends, I enjoy hiking, camping, playing guitar, reading, and various sports.

The relationships and personal bonds that I have developed with my patients over the past 40 years are profoundly meaningful to me. It is wonderful to care for their teeth, but an even greater honor to walk with them through the ups and downs of life.

I am so grateful to the Lord for the skills He gifted me with to care and serve the needs of others. However, I have received so many more blessings from those I have been privileged to call my patients and my friends. My life has been enriched beyond measure by the lives dentistry as allowed me to be a part of.

I have always loved to work with my hands and had an interest in science and biology. I also enjoy working out complex designs in my head. All of this made dentistry an obvious and exciting choice for me. I attended Clemson University for my Bachelor of Science in Pre-Dental and the Medical College of Georgia for my Doctorate of Dental Medicine.

Continuing education courses allow me to keep up with the most current practices and procedures for excellent patient care and successful treatment. My exposure to the latest advancements in restorative materials and instrumentation, whether through attendance at in-person conventions or through online coursework, helps ensure that my patients are receiving the best available dental care.

I am originally from Newberry, South Carolina, and have lived in Spartanburg for 42 years. I met my wife at Clemson University 46 years ago. We have four grown and married children, seven grandchildren, and two more on the way!

I play golf several times a week, but you wont find me riding in a golf cartI walk when I play! I also spend as much time with my grandkids as possible, though it involves some travel since they are in Minneapolis, Louisville, and Charlotte.

A smile is contagious, and I love being able to help my patients feel confident with their smile. As a dentist I enjoy finding solutions to my patients problems and dental needs. Getting to know my patients and help them have positive experiences at the dental office is one of my top priorities.

We are in an exciting time in the dental field where technology is expanding and can be used to aid our patients needs. I look forward to being a lifelong learner and incorporating the latest research into my practice so that patients can trust they are receiving the best care.

Originally from Clover, SC, in the upstate of South Carolina, I moved to the midlands of South Carolina and attended the University of South Carolina where I graduated Magna Cum Laude with Honors from the University of South Carolina Honors College. I furthered my education by attending the Medical University of South Carolina where I received my Doctorate of Dental Medicine.

I enjoy serving my community locally at free/reduced cost clinics and abroad through mission trips. I am also an active member of the American Dental Association and South Carolina Dental Association.

Foothills dental is very clean and the staff goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable during and after your procedure. The only thing they need to improve on is their dental chairs aren't very comfortable. I highly recommend Dr. Hill to anyone that wants a good dentist. He's very professional and personable and has great people skills which is what you need when you go to the dentist.

I found Foothills Dental after searching and trying out 3 other dentist. Walking in the front door, l could feel the difference. It starts with the front desk. Laura, Jenn and Jennifer greatest me with a smile. Dr. Hill was thorough and answered all questions I had. I knew we could stop looking. We found what we were looking for and more. I worked almost 30 years in the dental field so I have high standards. Dr. Hill and all of his staff are a great team.

My Dentist retired recently and I have visited several offices lately to find my new home . Foothills Dental is it ! The entire staff , office , hygienist , assistant and Dr Hill are top drawer . They will take time and discuss your treatment options . They are also among the most economical in Spartanburg. A +++++ in my book

The staff is nice and caring but my visit went downhill when "Dr." Hill came into the room. He never asked me my name and was in there no longer than 5 minutes. I came in for a first patient exam where I had 4 bitewing x-rays taken along with a cleaning and a separate x-ray as well. The problem came when Mr. Hill came into the room only talked about my upper left x-ray, proceeded to recommend I see another doctor because he basically said he couldn't tell if I'd need more work than he could provide on one tooth, then left as quick as he came. This was all fine actually, HOWEVER I feel he should not have charged me $86 for a so called comprehensive exam where he only talked with me about 3 teeth only to then recommended me to another Dr. who happens to share his last name as well (but he assures me he is not related to them). He also should not have charged me $64 for the bitewings he did not go over. I took a total of 4 bitewing x-rays which I was charged $64 for and $30 for the single x-ray which he only looked into. My total bill I paid out of pocket was about $147. In the end I'll have to pay another dentist (definitely not the one he referred me to) to actually do a fair and the SAME exam. I feel as though I was cheated and I'll make sure I make that known to all I know. I know for a fact that I need work done on an upper right tooth I think he didn't bother to look at. I called to address that I feel he didn't give me a real COMPREHENSIVE ORAL EXAM because he would/should have seen that. They told me he would have to see me again but don't know if I would be charged again or not! Which is absolutely ridiculous. In short the main problem I'm stating is the bitewing x-rays were an unnecessary charge to me and my insurance because he only talked with me about the single x-ray he had taken which the charges can both be seen in the picture provided below. Therefore this was not a COMP (comprehensive) oral exam in my opinion because he did NOT go over all of my X-rays (the teeth shown in the bitewings) that day (January 5, 2022). By all means I truly did enjoy the staff they are nice and my cleaning was great but as for the x-rays and beyond it went downhill. Now if I am wrong in assuming the extinct that a bitewings X-ray can show I'll gladly change me review. Until then I firmly believe he did not want to be bothered to even look at the bitewing X-rays given he didn't even want to be bothered sitting in the room more than 5 minutes either. In the end he got $86 for sitting in the room for about 5 minutes to only then refer me to another Dr. Hill and an additional $64 for my bitewing X-rays.

From our very first visit to foothills dental, Laura has made us feel like family. The staff is always courteous and friendly. They have been helpful with appointment scheduling issues and insurance, and never make you feel rushed. We miss Marilyn and Pat, but Stephanie is also a great hygienist. Both she and Dr. Hill are always gentle and take time to answer and explain any questions or concerns.
