Digital X-rays offer a huge advantage in early detection and preventive services. Advanced image manipulation and analysis, for example, allows your doctor to detect early stages of gum disease through recognition of bone level changes, or by evaluating the results against a previous treatment.

An intraoral camera is an indispensable diagnostic and educational tool. The tiny video camera moves around inside of your mouth and generates a tooth by tooth video exam of your teeth. Using an intraoral camera allows patients to better understand their dental needs by seeing what the dentist sees and then having it explained.

Lasers are a non-surgical approach to arresting the progression of periodontal disease. Following scaling and root planing, a laser is used to significantly reduce the bacterial colonies and decontaminate the infected periodontal pocket. Lasers also remove the infected tissue lining the periodontal pocket. As the infected tissue is removed, microscopic blood clots form and your body's natural healing response takes over. As you heal, the tissue reattaches to the bone and your gums return to a healthy infection-free state.

Constantly behind (by a half an hour or more), have no open communication about procedures and the amount of times needed to come in (very frustrating to continually schedule appointments), crazy pricing, some tech that refuses to wear a mask while smacking his gum right in your face, and doctor changes without saying a word. The only good thing is the oral surgeon and front desk employees (especially Maddie!). I keep wondering if I should write a post or not but I'm so over this place. I won't be coming back after my final (and 6th) appointment for my 1 procedure plan I've been working on with them for a year now. That is if they'll ever acknowledge me while I have been sat in this patient room for half an hour. What a surprise.

Avoid! I suspect Folsom Hills Dentistry is recently under new ownership. After being my dental practice for over a decade, Folsom Hills Dentistry recently started providing bills for what I believe to be excessive charges that were not disclosed at the time of the appointment. Most recently I was sent a $297 invoice simply for picking up a night guard (total time in the office was less that 5 minutes). What made me write this review is that when I wrote to Folsom Hills Dentistry to dispute the charge as being excessive and not justified (I thought they invoiced me in error and I asked for an itemized bill to verify), instead of responding constructively or calling me to discuss they immediately handed my invoice over to a collection agency. In my opinion, Folsom Hills Dentistry now has myopic management that will result in increased customer attrition and ultimately a loss of equity value in the practice which is well deserved. I have noticed a lot of dentist turnover recently, which now makes a lot of sense if the practice is losing patients and dentists are having to deal with upset customers. A real shame, this had been a great practice until recently. I have changed dental practices and would discourage anyone from using Folsom Hills Dentistry if you value transparency, reasonable billing practices, and the most basic level of constructive interaction with patients. If you are considering being a new patient here, look elsewhere. If you are a current patient, it may be in your best interest to find another dental practice now. The number of one-star reviews and similar complaints on Yelp! and Google Reviews is telling, and I suspect my experience is not unique. Therefore, I filed a formal complaint with the Dental Board of California providing the facts, and I have requested that the Dental Board investigate the billing practices of Folsom Hills Dentistry. If you have also had suspicious billing issues with this practice, I recommend you also file a complaint with the Dental Board of California (you can submit a complaint online).

The communication from this office is non-existent. I was overcharged for a service last year, but wasn't even notified about it from the office. Luckily I was checking my insurance portal to see the overcharge and contacted the office to correct it. I was told that it would take a few months to fix, but here I am a year later and the $100+ reimbursement still hasn't been provided to me. I call the office every week, get put on hold for over 10 minutes, and then get a new excuse as to why I haven't received a refund for the overcharge. Someone at the office tells me "I'll get back to you as soon as possible," and I never hear back. I tried to be patient with them but no one should have to go through this. I do not recommend this office. Not only for the poor communication, but for the lack of care when it comes to patient safety... which brings me to (1) one of the dental assistants actually tried ripping out the wrong tooth when she was supposed to be removing one of my temporary crowns, and then blamed me when she said I "pointed at the wrong tooth." I feel like they should know which tooth they're working on and not rely on me to "point" at the tooth with the temporary crown on it; and (2) I received treatment from an endodontist that made me cry in pain from lack of numbing agent using during the root canal, despite telling the endodontist I didn't want to continue he said "it's almost over." As I was leaving the office in tears from so much pain, one of the women at the desk said the provider was only contracted and I "might not see him again." If you do decide to come here, good luck!

If you need a partial, RUN DON'T WALK from Dr. Ryan O'Donnell. He has been trying to fit the partial he made for me for the past year. AND it still does not fit. Going to Folsom Hills Dental and O'Donnell has been an extremely expensive ( time and money) mistake. I would give him minus stars if I could.

BEST DENTAL EXPERIENCE EVER!! It's been a couple weeks since my appointment and I still feel the same as I did the day I was there. Just went in for a check up and a cleaning. Staff is beyond friendly. I dealt specifically with Fantasia and Dr. O'Donnell. Extremely easy to talk to and they do a spectacular job of explaining what they're doing when I had any questions. They claim to make the experience as pain free as possible. I can only say that there must not have been any pain or else I wouldn't be writing this. Why do most of us not like going to the dentist? Discomfort and pain, maybe? Didn't happen here. It was something I was waiting for but never happened. (Something to think about if you have kids or are just a little bit wimpy like me. Ha.) In all the years that I've gone to the dentist and gotten my teeth cleaned I usually left thinking why did they even bother. Didn't look any different to me. Not the case here. For the first time ever I can genuinely see the difference in my teeth. And now it's been weeks and I can still see the difference. Almost looks like I got my teeth slightly whitened. It's amazing! My whole life I always left the dentist office disappointed. Not this time. Actually this is my second visit. Had the same experience the first time also but needed a second go around to make sure what I was seeing was what I thought I was seeing. I'm not usually one to do these write ups mostly just because I just don't feel like it. But this has to do with my health. It's important. And I just needed to tell somebody other than my wife because going to Folsom Hills Dentistry was her idea in the first place and she loves taking all the credit. Invisalign will be what I will be looking into next. Looking forward to it. They appear to handle everything you could want as far as your teeth go. Check 'em out. They're awesome!

I'm a scary cat when it comes to dentist offices, I'm so happy I found this office !! Each time I go in I'm always treated well & they are very patient with me. Wouldn't go to another hygienist, Melanie Benoit always helps me with my fears & does a great job cleaning my teeth. Very satisfied with this office & the people who work there.

I have had some awful dental experiences in the past and was extremely worried after seeing the google review rating, I even thought about canceling early and finding somewhere else. However, I decided to give them a go and had the most seamless dental experience ever. Staff was quick, efficient, and well experienced. They took care of my filling that my previous dentist botched within my first visit, only took the required x-rays and information from me to get this done and their equipment used felt top of the line. As far as financing, dentistry is always expensive, though with the right insurance, in my case Cigna, the procedures I had done such as fillings and removing my wisdom teeth were only a fraction of a cost. Highly recommend.

Beware... What they tell you they charge and what they actually bill your insurance are not the same. They will over charge and upcharge your insurance until your benefits for the year are used up without telling you, then ask you how you'd like to pay. My root canal and crown was $1000 more than I was told. I don't trust them and will never be back.

I have had truly wonderful service. Today I went for what I thought would be a two part visit costing some $1,300. Instead they did everything on the scene and my total bill was only $790 for some major work. Melanie is a terrific hygienist who is dedicated to her work. I would rate this as the best dental office I have been to in my 80+ years!

I just can't believe the negative reviews here. I needed an emergency wisdom tooth extraction and this is the only clinic that took me in without any issues and got it done within an hour. Earlier that day, I went to two other clinics in Folsom and all either needed a referral or were booked for the whole week despite my pleading. Yes, I literally begged them to get my tooth extracted but they needed a 'referral'. Seriously?? What's the point of emergency and WHERE IS THE BASIC HUMANITY?? I appreciated that Dr. Kopa and his team took time out of their busy schedule, even for a follow-up without an appointment. Highly recommended!

I spent over a thousand dollars at this office on dental work and when it came time for my follow up visit, they cancelled my appointment and would not reschedule due to Covid-19. Never heard from them again, I had to go to a new dental office.

Worst Possible place to go!!!! I have gone to plenty of dentists in my lifetime. Never have I been to an office that is so incompetent and unorganized, confused, unempathetic about mistakes and delays. I have sat there for hours waiting because they didn't info correct about the surgery I was going to get done. Why? Someone dropped the ball that I was going to be put under. I have had a dentist have an assistant put my front tooth cap on when she told him she had never done it before. She was awesome but of course the tooth fell off within hours. Not her fault. Then when I come in they are unapologetic that they cannot get me back in that day. Then that one broke within four days. Again, I was just told sorry but I can tell you it will probably happen again before your implant is done. Then on my implant it is one delay after another. Cannot expedite the tooth and even worse now they delay the placement by another week. Meanwhile I have one front tooth that is a temp that is yellow, the other tooth with a flipper and a 1/4 inch gap between the gum and the flipper and through that you can see metal. I look ridiculous. When I asked them for the labs info so I could call them to understand the delay they said they couldn't share that info. Not sure why it's a secret. When I express my frustration with the ridiculous service I am told she doesn't have to listen to me raising my voice. Of course, do I have an option to go elsewhere at this point? No, because I already paid thousands of dollars which was probably overpriced and it s not like I will get any of the money back. No offer for reimbursement. Just lip from the front office. Wow! Biggest mistake of my life going there. I am so scared now seeing the ratings avg is a 2.8 out of 5. I wish I would have looked at this sooner. My mistake big time!!!

Always pushing to charge more and collect money. They are way more expensive than other dentistry. It's ok to charge more if you get great service. Not recommended and the crowns they sell breaks instantly.
