Dr. Peter Winkelman attended Duke University in Durham, NC as an undergraduate. After graduating cum laude, with a B.S. in Psychology, he attended Georgetown University School of Dentistry in Washington, D.C. where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree.Dr. Winkelman began practicing in 1977 in Montgomery and Prince Georges County. Dr. Winkelman enjoys being a dentist and prides himself on staying abreast of all the latest developments in the dental field. He spends numerous hours each week reading the latest dental literature as well as attending many continuing education courses.
Dr. Winkelman is a member of the American Dental Association, Maryland State Dental Association and the Southern Maryland Dental Association. He has been active in the Barnesville School serving as Chairman of the Board of Trustees.
When not at his practice, Dr. Winkelman enjoys college basketball (being a diehard Duke fan), travel and reading. He is married with two grown sons. One is a financial planner in Richmond, Virginia and the other is currently attending college in Florida. His wife works in Rockville and devotes time to Children's Hospital as a member of The Board of Lady Visitors.
