Minimal sedation is a safe and effective technique used to relax and reduce anxiety during dental procedures. Children are drowsy but still conscious and responsive to verbal commands. Minimal sedation is indicated for children who experience higher levels of anxiety. In addition, sedation is also recommended for children who are very young or who have special needs and are unable to cooperate for dental treatment.

We designed our office with you and your childs comfort in mind. We have games for the kids, and quieter, more relaxing areas for the adults. If your child is afraid or nervous about visiting the Dentist, ask us about our happy visits. Dr. Carlos Garza began his healthcare career, while a high school student, as an Anesthesia Technician. He received a Bachelor of Science in Cardiovascular Perfusion Technology from Hahnemann University, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and worked in cardiac surgery, in New York, for the next 7 years.In 2006, Dr. Garza received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, Cum Laude, from State University of New York at Buffalo, School of Dental Medicine. While in dental school, he helped found and served as the first President of the Hispanic Student Dental Association Buffalo Chapter. He also volunteered at Special Olympics Special Smiles and Childrens Hospital of Buffalo. Dr. Garzas pediatric dentistry clinical experience included operating room procedures, sedations and craniofacial clinics. Upon completing the pediatric dental residency program at the University of Rochesters Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY, Dr. Garza worked for several years at Childrens Dentistry of Woodstock, in Woodstock, GA.

Hello, my name is Beth Phillips, and Im the insurance coordinator at Floss Dentistry. I have been part of the Floss family since 2015, and I am available to help you and your family with all insurance questions and concerns. I am originally from Augusta, Georgia and have worked in general and pediatric dentistry for over fifteen years. After obtaining my Bachelors in Communications from the University of Maryland, I worked as a marketing manager in the financial industry. I have been a group exercise instructor since 1994 and consider fitness an important part of my life. Prior to obtaining my bachelors, I received my associates degree in dental assisting, which is where I initially grew to love the dental field. I have been happily married since 2014, and we have a beautiful son, Cole, who was born in 2015. Our family finds great joy in the outdoors and spending time traveling and staying active. I love the balance of my wonderful personal life alongside my career with Floss. I am always here to help make your visits with us a positive and enjoyable experience!

Hi! Im Amber, a dental hygienist at Floss. I graduated from Lanier Technical College in 2006 and began my career as a dental hygienist in general dentistry. I realized, early on, that my greatest enjoyment was interacting with the younger patients. In 2010, I had an opportunity to transition into pediatric dentistry, with Dr. Garza, and I havent looked back!

My goal is to provide an enjoyable experience and help patients develop good oral hygiene habits at a young age. Making dentistry fun is what I do ! One of my greatest satisfactions comes from watching a patient leave the dental chair with a smile, excited for their next visit. I take pride in being a part of the Floss team and creating a fun environment with my co-workers but, more importantly, creating a positive experience for our patients and families.

Hello! My name is Holly! I obtained my Bachelors of Science in Dental Hygiene from Georgia Highlands College. My husband and I have three fur children: two dogs, Oliver and Pearl, and a cat, Ashanti. In my spare time, I enjoy yoga, dance, and being outdoors. I began working in a general practice but fell in love with pediatric dentistry after coming to Floss. I sincerely look forward to welcoming new patients and providing them with a fun experience and excellent care!

Hello, Im Kim, Lead Dental Assistant at Floss. I have been a dental assistant for 22 years and have worked in all areas of dentistry. I have a degree in History from the University of Central Florida and a Masters degree in Architectural Preservation from Georgia State University. I love old buildings! In my spare time, I love to run half marathons with fun themes. Walt Disney World has some of the best! I enjoy reading (anything), and traveling, preferably on a cruise. I have been married to Frank for almost as long as I have been assisting, and we have a grown daughter and two rescued German Shepherds.

Hi! Im Mandy. Im a dental assistant at Floss. Ive been working in the dental field for 15 years, and I love what I do. In addition to working at Floss, I am a dental assistant instructor, in the evenings, but my real passion is working with children. I strive to do the BEST I can to help patients and parents feel comfortable when they are here. I love being a part of the Floss family and cannot imagine working for a better dentist than Dr. Garza.
