Dr. Calvin K. Nguyen, DDS, found his way into dentistry out of a love of service to others. When he was just a kid, a dentist relieved him of an enormous amount of pain by extracting his bad tooth, and, since then, hes been hooked. In 2004, he went into the US Navy as a hospital corpsman/dental assistant and served for six years, during which he underwent three deployments. For his service, he was awarded two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals for his outstanding performance.
When he finished his service to his country, he completed his Bachelors Degree at Louisiana State University Baton Rouge and then went into Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in New Orleans. During that time, he volunteered his services to the community at no charge. Dr. Nguyen grew up in poverty himself, and he understands just how hard life can be. It is only that much worse when you are suffering and cannot find relief. In his time as a dentist, he has worked hard to bring relief, and even happiness, to those who are otherwise struggling. As he is fond of saying, I cannot make everyone happy, but I can give others a beautiful smile.
In 2017, Dr. Nguyen completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery and moved to Houston, Texas in the same year to start this dental career. He has been serving the good people of his community ever since, finding great reward in putting smiles on his patients faces. He has dedicated his life and career to serving others, and he hopes to one day open a charity organization in Vietnam, his country of origin, for the orphans and the poor. It is Dr. Nguyens belief that everyone deserves to have their basic needs met, and he does what he can to make that happen.
When Dr. Nguyen is not practicing dentistry, he loves to spend time with his friends and family, especially with his wife and his German Shepherd. Dr. Nguyen loves to travel and try new food all around the world, which fits well with his personality, Once a Sailor, Always a Sailor!

I went here for exam and cleaning after a long time I didn't go to the dentist. Dr. Calvin was gentle and funny, friendly staffs. Affordable price and high tech equipment. Highly recommend!

I've hated going to the dentist for years. Today I had an appointment at Floss Dental in Katy. I love their covid precautions. The two young ladies, Shontril and Bianca were excellent. They explained everything to me so I knew was was going on. Very nice women. Dr Nguyen put me at ease almost immediately. I expected to leave in a lot of pain but that was far from the case. I highly recommend going there for your dental needs. Thanks for taking such great care of me. Now I can get the other work done I need without being worried about the pain. Sincerely, Wayne Scorza.

Dr. Nguyen and his co-workers are wonderful. They are very patient and have done a great work on my teeth. Especially, Dr. Nguyen is a kind of phenomenon. He is so easy to talk to (and His Vietnamese is good). I am so nervous whenever going to the dentist, but he is always patient and does his best to calm me down during the whole process, his work is professional. Additionally, their office is new and clean with new facilities. I am so glad I chose this place. Highly recommend.

I'm a fan. Brand new facility with a very kind staff. The dental assistant Bianca is friendly and will make you feel very welcome when you arrive. Dr. Nguyen is easy to talk to, very thorough, a navy vet, and was always concerned with my comfort. He has large flat screen TVs in every room (one on the wall and one in the ceiling) for you to watch cable on and that he also uses to show you your imaging results (I got to see a 3D image of the lower half of my skull today which was pretty cool) and both he and his staff explain your treatment plan every step of the way. I am not a fan of getting holes drilled in my teeth and being poked with sharp metal objects, but if I'm going to get it done for my own good I will be going to see this team at FLOSS Dental in Katy.

Amazing place I've been coming here for a year and Dr. Calvin has always been responsive and a big help with my Invisalign. He pays very close attention to detail and my bf and him always have deep conversations with him when ever he comes with me also.

I went here for exam and cleaning for the first time and Dr.Calvin was very informative and funny, friendly staff. Dr.Calvin pulls up X-rays on the tv and goes over your teeth.
