She earned a Bachelor degree in Biology and Clinical Laboratory Sciences from Rutgers University and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. To further her studies, Dr. Maia pursued and earned a Doctorate degree in Dental Medicine from UMDNJ.
Her desire and passion for science and medicine lead her to continue and successfully complete a postgraduate degree, where she earned a Masters in Biomedical Sciences. Dr. Maia defended her thesis, which explored the role of inflammatory cytokines such as IL-1 in periodontal disease and resorption of alveolar bone. The study also correlated the effects of triclosan found in local delivery systems to manage periodontal conditions.
Dr. Maia continued to further her interest in medicine by specializing in the field of Oral Medicine, where her expertise and extensive training enable her to treat a variety of medically complex conditions that require both medical and dental management of such disorders prior and during dental treatment.
Our office is conveniently located on 501 Delaware Ave, Roebling, New Jersey, and is accessible via all major roads (Route 130, 295 and New Jersey Turnpike/Pennsylvania Turnpike Extension). We are proud of our office, which fully utilizes state of the art equipment. We have a modern sterilization system that surpasses OSHA requirements. The source of water for our dental units is distilled water (bottled water), which removes any chance of contamination from regular tap water like that used in most dental offices.

In addition to general dentistry and cosmetic dentistry, we work with specialists in Periodontics (gum diseases), Implant dentistry, and Endodontics (root canal treatments), as well as other specialists. Our team emphasizes comprehensive quality care and preventive dentistry.
We deliver the finest care at the most reasonable cost to our patients, therefore payment is due at the time service is rendered unless other arrangements have been made in advance. Dr. Maia has been my dentist for the last 13-14 years and without a doubt, has helped me more than any dentist before in getting my teeth in order, making sure I brush properly and floss daily. I'm 66 years old now. She has made an impact on the way I go about taken care of my teeth, so much, that I keep her business card next to my toothbrush as a reminder to floss everyday. Very professional and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Florence Dental Medicine. Dr. Maia has made a huge difference for me.

Dr. Maia deserves more than 5 stars. Love her and the team! I have been going there for years and will continue. Recently, my daughter had her first check up/cleaning appointment with Dr. Maia. When we left the office my daughter told me her previous dentist never cleaned her teeth the way Dr. Maia cleaned them. Dr. Maia is very compassionate and personable and my daughter feels comfortable going there. And that tells me a lot coming from a young teenager. Needless to say, I will never take my daughter to another dentist as long as Dr. Maia is in practice.

This office treat people with state insurance horrible. I've made 3 appts. They cancelled all 3 on the day of appointments to treat people with different insurance.
