Dr. Cherry was born and raised in Florence, SC. He attended college at Francis Marion University in Florence, SC where he obtained his degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. He then went on to study dentistry at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC and has been seeing and treating patients since 2005.
Dr. Cherry graduated with honors as one of the top students in his class and was a member of the Psi Omega dental fraternity at MUSC. Upon graduation, he received the prestigious South Carolina Dental Association Award for academic and clinical excellence, which is an award given to only one student in each graduating class, as well as an award for outstanding accomplishments in prosthodontics. He has had the pleasure of helping and treating patients all across the state of SC since graduating dental school and enjoys making a difference in the lives of others.
Dr. Cherry is a member of the American Dental Association, the South Carolina Dental Association, the Florence County Dental Society and Study Club, and the MUSC alumni association. He has received extensive continuing education with an emphasis in placing and restoring implants and performing root canals. He is committed to learning new treatment options and technological advances in dentistry so he can provide the best treatment for his patients.
Dr. Cherry is very excited to be back in his hometown of Florence, SC and provide dental care to members of his hometown community. He enjoys spending time with his family and pup Baxter, traveling, all things cars, and of course practicing dentistry.

I have really bad anxiety when it comes to going to the dentist, but not with dr cherrys office. The staff are all so nice and make you feel so comfortable. Dr cherry is amazing. If you are looking for a dentist I highly recommend them! Seriously the best dentist in Florence. They actually care about you and your well-being. I will never go to another dentist.

The whole entire staff was very friendly and welcoming so it made my first visit so much more relaxed! Dr. Cherry had great manners and kept me very informed. 10/10 visit.

I had a dental emergency while traveling and phoned Florence Dental Arts. The staff was gracious enough to fit me in that day. Dr. Cherry did a fantastic job. He explained everything he was doing and the price was very fair. I highly recommend his office.

If I could give this place no stars I would this place is highly unorganized with scheduling patients and how long that patient needs procedure wise... Twice I've been there for them to tell me ooopppsss I need more time with the patient before you so I can't see you today so you would think he would fit me in asap but no it took weeks to get an appt then my tooth fell out so I needed a emergency appt and guess what they can't see me for 3 weeks there website says they have emergency assistance available which clearly they do not... At my first visit I was so confident this was gonna be my dentist for the work I need done and I'm highly disappointed ...if you're new or trying to become a new patient here don't waste your time !!!!

I chipped my front teeth and was panicked! I found Florence dental arts and gave them a call. Very prompt. Very empathetic to my needs! The young woman at the desk was so helpful with getting my insurance information and setting an immediate appointment! I went in at 8 am as scheduled and met dr cherry. Very professional very courteous. He checked my teeth and gave me all the options. I was going to schedule an appointment and the lady told me someone just canceled so I want to be seen now!? Yes yes and yes! The whole procedure took 30 minutes and I couldn't be happier with the results. I will not ever go to anyone else. Thank you all

As someone who fears dentists and tries to run from them every chance I can.. I'm more than excited that I not only found a dentist that sincerely cares about his patients. Dr. Cherry doesn't just perform services for his financial benefit he goes an extra step and offers a 10% discount for patients with no dental insurance. It's hard to find any medical office that has a wonderful atmosphere without a long wait time. Friendly and knowledgeable employees that truly take a new meaning on "First Do No Harm!!!" Thank you so much!!!

I have a hard time connecting with dentists, and I had tried a couple dentistries in Florence I did not click with. That being said, I had such a good visit with Dr Cherrie that I actually look forward to returning! This was also the most effortless and easy numbing and procedure I've ever experienced. I'm very grateful they saw me during the pandemic and I can tell the current state of the world has not had any effect on their bedside manners. I greatly appreciate their thoughtfulness and attention and they will be my primary dentistry from now on. Thank you!

I had a badly infected tooth and no insurance right in the middle of this corona pandemic. I had not seen a dentist in over 15years from fear of them. Dr. Cherry saw me right away and even gave me a discount due to having to pay out of pocket. By the end of my first visit with him, he had put my mind at ease. He did not make me feel embarrassed about the condition of my teeth and he let me know up front exactly what my options were and what to expect. He is awesome. The procedure itself could not have gone smoother and he was so skilled and gentle that I felt virtually no discomfort through the shots and all. He was very thorough and took the time to ask how I was doing every step of the way. I can't say enough about how wonderful he is and I promise if he was not, I'd be the first to let everyone know. I highly recommend him to all my friends and family and I plan to be a loyal patient until I leave this world.

Such a kind and understanding dentist!!! Explained exactly what I needed, informed me of the pros and cons which allowed me to make an educated decision. I have never found a dentist that I could trust as much as Dr. Cherry. Florence Dental Arts has earned a lifelong customer.
