Dr. Huslig is a different kind of dentist. With his primary focus on education, both for his patients and for himself, Dr. Huslig is able to provide the highest possible level of care with the latest advancements in dental technology. When Dr. Huslig isnt pursuing continuing education he is improving the lives of the Andover community with his extensive dental expertise and experience.
A native of Kansas, Dr. Huslig earned his undergraduate degree from Wichita State University. In 1994 he graduated with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, TX. Since then he has been in private practice serving the needs of the Andover and greater Wichita communities.
Dr. Huslig continues to pursue advanced education in comprehensive-care dentistry so he can utilize the very best of the latest dental advances for his patients. He has earned certification for Invisalign and New Invisalign Teen, the clear alternative to braces. With his extensive training and experience in esthetic dentistry, Dr. Huslig is well versed in the art and science of quality dental care.
Interested in more than his own education, Dr. Huslig is always working to improve his patients dental knowledge. He takes the time to explain facts, provide options, and explain the reasons behind every diagnosis and treatment plan. Dr. Huslig strives for patients to be well-informed and confident participants in their oral health care.
Dr. Huslig also serves as a volunteer dentist for annual dental screenings at local elementary schools, participates in Donated Dental Services, and enjoys educating pre-school-aged children about their teeth. In his spare time, he coaches and officiates youth soccer.
Dr. Cody Gunnell is a native of Centerville, Utah. When he was three years old his family moved to Saudi Arabia for six years where his father worked. While living overseas, Dr. Gunnell had the opportunity to travel often and visit five of the seven continents. By the age of 9, Dr. Gunnell had traveled over 100,000 miles! Upon returning to the United States, Dr. Gunnell obtained a bachelors degree in Biological Engineering from Utah State University. During undergraduate studies, Dr. Gunnell took a two-year break to serve a religious mission to central Russia and upon his return to Utah State, met his beautiful wife, Jennifer. They were married in Bountiful, Utah in 2008.
After graduating from Utah State University in 2011, Dr. Gunnell accepted a scholarship position at Creighton University School of Dentistry in Omaha, Nebraska, where he gained experience in all aspects of general dentistry, including restorative work, crown and bridge, dentures, root canals, periodontics, extractions, and implant surgeries. In July 2014, Dr. and Mrs. Gunnell welcomed their twin girls, Hannah and Hailey.
Upon completion of dental school in 2015, Dr. Gunnell completed a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at Wichita State University to increase his clinical abilities. Dr. Gunnell and his family live in Northeast Wichita while he has been in private practice in the area since 2016. Dr. Gunnell enjoys spending time with his family, road tripping, golfing, watching movies, and keeping up on world events. One of his favorite quotes is from Henry Ford: Whether you think you can, or think you cant youreright.
