My name is Mary Edwards and I was born and raised in Morgantown, WV. I received both my Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry and my Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees from West Virginia University. I continued my education with a General Practice Residency through the University of Tennessees Medical Center in Knoxville, TN following graduation from dental school. Outside of work, I love to do anything that involves the outdoors from hiking to paddle boarding to passing lacrosse. At home, I love playing with my black cat Severus (Sevy for short), whose name comes from one of my other obsessions- Harry Potter. Although my family does not live here in the Asheville area, I love visiting my parents, sisters, three nieces and one nephew as much as I can.
Dr. Brent Barroso-Bernier was raised in Okemos, MI, & attended the University of Michigan. He completed his Bachelor of Science degree in psychology in 2001. After conducting several years of dental research he decided to continue his education in dentistry & completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2005.
Upon graduation, Dr. Bernier worked in a community clinic in Bay City, MI, while serving as an adjunct clinical professor for the University of Michigan mentoring graduate dental students. In 2009, Dr. Bernier returned to Ann Arbor where he was able to fulfill two of his passions, practicing dentistry & attending U of M football games.
In 2013, Dr. Bernier & his family relocated to Asheville, NC. Although his two young daughters keep him busy, Dr. Bernier & his wife Kendall have enjoyed the wonderful city of Asheville & all it has to offer. Dr. Bernier is proud to join Fletcher Family Dentistry & looks forward to serving all of you & your familys dental needs.
Benjamin joined Fletcher Family Dentistry in the spring of 2014. He joins our team with over 13 years of dental experience including front desk and is a certified x-ray technician. He graduated from UNCA with a BS in Biology. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking, beekeeping and the outdoors. He will make sure that your experience as a patient is everything you expect from your family here at Fletcher Family Dentistry.
Valerie has been a team member of Fletcher Family Dentistry since 2021. She has worked in dentistry since 1988. She enjoys helping our patients by welcoming them to the practice and helping them navigate thru any dental needs. Valerie loves working with her new co-workers. In her free time she enjoys cooking, horseback riding and spending time at the beach with family and friends.
Tracey is a Henderson County native and completed her dental hygiene degree at AB Tech in 1993. She has been working at Fletcher Family Dentistry since 2006. She loves being a hygienist because of the rewarding relationships shes able to form with patients and enjoys helping them achieve optimal dental health. Tracey and her husband have a son and daughter. In her free time youll find her walking her pointers!
Amber is a Henderson County native that graduated from West Henderson. She attended AB Tech and completed her Dental Hygiene degree in 1991. She started at Fletcher Family Dentistry part-time in 2006 and has been with the team full time since Aug2019. She enjoys being a part of the Fletcher Family Dentistry team and works hard to provide her patients with the best dental hygiene care possible. Ambers top priority is making sure her patients have a great dental experience. Amber has 2 children and a grandson. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and helping her husband in his business.
Debbie graduated from Central Piedmont Community College in 1981 received an associate degree in Dental Hygiene. After many years of practicing hygiene, she now enjoys dental assisting and providing optimum care for her patients. Debbie is a native of Henderson County and a proud EHS Yellow Jacket alumnus. Her hobbies include sewing, crafts and custom cakes. She and her husband, Tim, share 3 children, 6 grandchildren and their precious fur-baby, Sophie. They enjoy spending time with family and friends, good food and their little Sophie!
Amanda is a native of Asheville. After graduating from Asheville HighSchool in 1993, she pursued her studies in Dental Assisting through Chapel Hill. Amanda was proud to join our office in the spring of 2021. Amanda comes to us with over 25 years of dental experience. Amanda thoroughly enjoys helping to make patients feel calm and comfortable with dental procedures. In her spare time, Amanda enjoys being outdoors and spending quality time with her 2-year-old twin grandbabies.
Heather has been in the dental field since 1995. She enjoys educating and getting to know her patients. She is fortunate to work in a team centered office, where each patient is our highest priority. Heather is married with 2 kids. She enjoys reading and hiking in her spare time

This is a very pleasant, supportive family practice. The hygienists have been great. Benjamin and Viv are very friendly and knowledgeable at the front desk. I had an emergency tooth extraction recently and I found everyone very supportive. Although I have had to see different dentists on different occasions, for various reasons, I found each one very thorough, professional, yet caring and personable. It's an environment where you can feel reassured and in good hands. Very important to find with a dentist, in my opinion. Thanks to all!

Kind, caring, professional help from the entire staff. I struggle with great anxiety when going to the dentist and they treated me with such kindness and respect. They put me at ease and I had the best experience at their office. Good people!

I was having a horrible toothache, I called at 10:30am and they had me in the office at 3:00pm. Wonderful front office staff, hygienist, and doctors. They all are friendly, don't rush you in and out, and treat their patients with respect and kindness.

We've come here for years now. I do miss Dr Dewalder but as other reviewers have mentioned Benjamin and Valerie at the front desk are excellent. The techs are amazing with my children as well and make visits super easy for them.

I love this office. I've been going here for years and it's always a pleasant experience. Benjamin goes out of his way to keep you informed of your benefits so no surprises. The hygienist are all great. I recently replaced 3 old crowns and they did a fabulous job. Very experienced and it's obvious.

I have been a patient of Fletcher dentistry for at least 6 years. This is the friendliest office. Benjamin is always very professional and accommodating. The new dentist is very understanding and compassionate. The hygienists are very personable and professional.
