He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Columbia University's School of Dental and Oral Surgery in 1984. He received additional training at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York, completing a General Practice Residency in 1985. After practicing as a general dentist, Dr. Fleer returned to Columbia University's School of Dental and Oral Surgery where he received his Certificate in Orthodontics in 1988.
Upon completion of his orthodontic training, Dr. Fleer was invited to teach at Columbia University's Dental School where he continues to volunteer his time lecturing in the Department of Orthodontics.
For his dedication to providing optimal care to his patients, Dr. Fleer has been named to the Best of the U.S. list for Dentists (Orthodontists) as well as named as one of New Jersey's Best Dentists (Orthodontists) for the past several years.
We are especially interested in making all our patients feel right at home! We put your needs first to achieve efficient and comprehensive treatment. Our staff is trained and skilled, and we strive to provide energetic and fun-loving service to each patient. Our treatment team consists of licensed Registered Dental Assistants and licensed dental assistants (X-ray licensed). Our office staff has years of experience in treating patients with the highest level of care. We strive to stay abreast of the very latest in technology and advances by regularly attending continuing education courses and seminars.
Certified Dental Assistant (CDA): This credential from the Dental Assistants National Board (DANB), involves training and examination in infection control, radiation health and safety, and general chairside assisting. At least two years' experience in dental assisting is required. Training in medical emergencies and current CPR certification for healthcare providers is required. Many hours of continued education are required to maintain licenseship.
Certified Orthodontic Assistant (COA): This credential from the Dental Assistants National Board (DANB), involves training and requirements required for a CDA but with emphasis on orthodontics. Requires at least two years of orthodontic assisting.
Registered Dental Assistant (RDA): This licensed credential is the highest level of assisting in the state of New Jersey and involves training and examination in expanded dental functions. CDA or COA credentials are a prerequisite, and training in medical emergencies with a current CPR certification for healthcare providers is required. Many hours of continued education are required to maintain licenseship. These hours of education are in addition to the hours required for CDA and COA.
Mary is married to Joe and has four children, Gerard, Eric, Andrew and Natalie. She is a proud babchi (grandmother). Mary enjoys the beach, gardening (our beautiful flower boxes included), photography and spending time with her dog, Sadie.
Chrissy 's role could be best described as our 'air traffic controller'. Managing our patient flow and coordinating our RDA 's, Chrissy is everywhere and always full of energy (she never slows down). Her beautiful smile is always on when she comes to work.
Joining our office in 2001, Sharon's previous experience includes purchasing coordinator for an HMO and office manager for a general contractor. A graduate of Douglass College, New Brunswick, New Jersey, Sharon does an outstanding job assisting our patients with their financial arrangements and contracts, making payment for treatment as smooth and easy as possible. Sharon is the go-to person for all the financial and operational needs of the practice. She enjoys the positive energy of our office and staff, and she especially likes the relationships we develop with families as we treat each of the family members.
'The office is such an upbeat place to work. In spite of the extremely fast pace, we all take time to celebrate a removal and new smile. This has to be the most refreshing and rewarding position I have held.'

Had a great experience with this office! I saw Dr. Fleer over 6 years ago for braces and needed to return to have a new retainer made after getting a crown in. I saw a different dentist when I came in who was very nice and professional (Dr. L I believe?). He even went out of his way to clean up the cement stuck around my teeth after my sloppy crown done at another office.

It's not very often where you find a Doctor that you love and a staff that is amazing. This is the case here. Both of my children have gone to Dr. Fleer and the service is great. They are very accommodating when it comes to appointments. I can't say enough about the atmosphere. The decorating of the office is always incredible. It is evident that the oeople who work here love their jobs....something you don't find often. You won't be disappointed.

I have worked with Dr. Fleer for over 24 years! He has treated my family and many friends. I have worked with him this long because he is truly an amazing orthodontist. He prides himself for properly caring for his patients. We have treated families who are now bringing their grandchildren! That says a lot. Siddhant Tripathi is not one of our patients so it upsets me when people use a review platform for matters that do not involve us. Any of our patients even after treatment can always consult with us on further care. In the end we are a family here. Much love to 24 more years!!

Our daughter began treatment about 5 years ago with Dr Fleer and his practice. Absolutely can't say enough about the group of professional staff and Dr Fleer. One staff member specifically has always gone above and beyond whenever the unexpected wire came out or bracket came off to accommodate and get us in for the fix regardless of when to include holidays. Her name is Jeannie. Dr Fleer was spot on with every part of my daughters treatment from beginning to end. We loved him and the practice so much my son now goes to the practice and he is on his way now. I would highly recommend this group. The professionalism, the environment and the health care is top of the line. During these past several years even before we went to this practice we have always come in contact with friends and those that have gone through the orthodontist process and we're highly recommended to this group. The very best choice hands down!!

Dr. Fleer is a very caring and professional Orthodontist , we have had wonderful results for our two children and also our two nieces (all were traditional braces)! We have recommended many friends of ours to the office and they are very happy going to see Dr. Fleer and the staff . I just started my treatment with Invisalign 2 months ago and I'm already seeing great results. The office is such a fun atmosphere!

We started coming to Dr. Fleer a couple of years ago when my younger daughter had to get a pallet expander. I had no idea what to do and was apprehensive about turning the key. Well thanks to Jeanie, I became a pro! Now my older daughter has braces and again, Jeanie helps me with any questions or issues. Dr. Fleer is so nice and always makes the kids comfortable. They are extremely acomodating. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for an orthodontist!

Dr Fleer is a caring, friendly, perfectionist orthodontist Four of my grandchildren are patients The 15 year old is finished and has a perfect beautiful smile The other three are in treatment and love coming to the office. It is fun and decorated with whimsy. The staff is great and knowledgeable Highly recommend this practice .

The best orthodontist we have been to. Dr Fleer and his staff are fantastic. We have been to many orthodontists. I have had braces 3 times myself and was charged 3 times. Dr Fleer actually watched my son and didn't charge a penny till he was ready to put braces on. Staff on top of appointments and always call to make sure you are scheduled for your next visit. Jeannie has been fantastic throughout my son's treatment and has helped us on many short notices and emergencies. Wouldn't go anywhere else.

Both our son and our daughter have had very positive experiences at Dr. Fleer's. We have always been greeted with smiles and are in the chair with little to no wait. The assistants are caring and adept at their craft. Despite a clearly busy schedule, Dr. Fleer makes our children feel welcome and important, and he makes sure their teeth are perfect. I would not recommend this orthodontist to anyone! He treated my son and created more problems than I ever could have imagined. My son suffered from neck, head and jaw problems. Dr Fleer extracted 4 teeth unnecessarily and put on elastics which pulled his jaw back and created severe TMJ. He had to have major jaw surgery. Even the orthodontist who prepared him for the jaw surgery acknowledged that the work Dr. Fleer did necessitated the jaw surgery. This was an awful experience which I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. No parent should have to see their child in such horrific pain, I cannot recommend this office to anyone!
