Our certified dentists, Dr. Christopher Rouse and Dr. E. Michael Crosland, lead the Flatrock Family Dentistry team with a whole health approach to dentistry. Both are members of the American Dental Association (ADA), giving them the necessary experience and knowledge to explore the underlying cause of dental problems and provide more comprehensive and effective treatment plans to our patients.
Both doctors have both completed advanced residency training after dental school which provided additional expertise and experience and in an array of dental procedures. Their commitment to continuing education ensures that they remain on the cutting edge of the latest, most advanced dental techniques and procedures.
We offer a wide range of services to men, women, and children in the Greenville and Five Forks communities. In addition to general and family dentistry, we specialize in restorative dentistry, sedation dentistry, and dental implants. Flatrock Family Dentistry has been serving the Greenville community for more than 30 years. Many of our patients and their families have been coming to our office for years, trusting our team to their health and well-being. Some members of our team have been with us since 87 and love seeing many familiar faces continue to walk into our practice to this day.
Dr. Crosland volunteers his time as a part-time clinical instructor at The Dental College of Georgia, where he helps to teach residents implant dentistry and how to provide comprehensive dental care. Dr. Rouse been on several dental missions to South America with his sons, where he educates patients on proper brushing and hygiene, and performs tooth extractions and other necessary dental restorations.
Dr. Christopher Rouse is a native of Atlanta, Georgia. He received his Bachelor of Science in Spanish and played for the Mens Soccer Team at Brigham Young University. His Doctor of Medical Dentistry (DMD) degree was completed at the Medical College of Georgia. While in dental school, Dr. Rouse published several research articles and served in a national position with the American Student Dental Association.
At the completion of dental school, he attended a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he gained experience with advanced oral and periodontal surgery, including the surgical placement ofdental implants. He also gained valuable experience in pediatric dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, and the treatment of medically compromised patients. He has been in private practice here in Greenville since 2001. Dr. Rouse is a member of theAmerican Dental Association (ADA),South Carolina Dental Association (SCDA),The Academy of General Dentistry (AGD),and a student of thePankey Institutein Key Biscayne, FL. Dr. Rouse has a strong focus on treating patients with complex dental needs.
His main hobby is spending time with his wife, Leslie, and their three active boys and two girls. His girls Brynn and Ashlyn were adopted from China and Charleston respectively.Dr. Rouse is an Eagle Scout and a former Scout Master. He enjoys serving at church, playing soccer, backpacking, mountain biking, anything outdoors, and woodworking.
Dr. Rouse has taken several dental service mission trips to Peru, the Dominican Republic, and Ecuador with his children. He is continually trying to perfect his joke-telling skills, so if you have any good clean ones, he would love to hear them.
E. Michael Crosland, DMD Dr. E. Michael Crosland is a native of Augusta, GA and attended University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. While at the University of South Carolina, He was a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Society. After completing his undergraduate education, Dr. Crosland attended Augusta University Dental College of Georgia where he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree. Outside of the classroom, he was actively involved in student admissions, Dentists for Della providing dental care for war veterans, Give-A-Smile helping underprivileged children afford dental care, and other volunteer efforts.Upon completion of his dental degree, Dr. Crosland attended the General Practice Residency at the Dental College of Georgia. He received extensive training in complex restorative and surgical procedures, including dental implant placement/restoration, wisdom teeth extractions, and intravenous (IV) conscious sedation. Dr. Crosland is an active member of the American Dental Association (ADA) and South Carolina Dental Association (SCDA). He also volunteers his time as a part-time clinical instructor at The Dental College of Georgia, where he assists in teaching residents implant dentistry and providing comprehensive dental care to patients. Dr. Crosland is committed to a lifetime of continuing education to ensure that he provides the highest level of care for his patients.Dr. Crosland likes to enjoy every day whether its in the dental office, on the basketball court, on a hiking trail, or traveling. He loves spending time with friends, family, and his dog Aldo.

They take pride in treating our patients like family as they assist you in finding the best solutions for you financially, and through coordination of your treatment during every phase.
Our hygiene team: Marina, Rose and Tanya have over 50 combined years of experience! They are fully knowledgeable in all areas of oral health care. The team performs routine prophy exams, periodontal maintenance and deep tissue/gum cleaning with root planing and scaling procedures. Our hygienists also educate each patient in the area of tooth anatomy, cosmetic procedures available, oral hygiene and overall dental daily care.
Nereatha and Nicole work together as our team of fully trained clinical assistants. They work with our doctors to make you as comfortable as possible during your dental treatment. They assist the doctors in various areas of dentistry and strive to give you the highest quality personal care.
