Dr Patrick is by far the best Periodontist in Boulder! HIs team is equally as amazing! They always go above and beyond to exceed all expectations!

I don't even know where to begin. Dr. Patrick is the most thoughtful and knowledgeable Periodontist. His practice is not only absolutely beautiful, but is conventionally located in Boulder. He genuinely cares about his patients, referring doctors and of course his amazing staff. I highly recommend Dr. Patrick as your Periodontist and Nichole as your Hygienist.

First of all, Dr. Patrick and his staff are a cut above the rest. He was thorough, honest, and explained everything to me without using medical jargon that I would not have understood. He's down to earth, genuine, laid back, and truly cares. For pretty much the same procedure, at another practice, I was told insurance wouldn't cover much of it and my portion would be about $2400.00. I seriously didn't believe his assistant when she told me my portion would be FAR below that. I don't know anyone who'd be thrilled about having a gum graft, but I'm actually not even concerned as he explained everything to me and eased my mind about the procedure. I'm so confident in him and his practice, that I didn't even wait until after the procedure to write this review!

I can't say enough good things about this office, they truly delivered a flawless experience from start to finish. As a high anxiety dental patient, I was absolutely dreading my appointment. Upon my arrival I was greeted very warmly by Markima at the front desk, and she did a great job making me feel welcome. Cassandra, Dr. Patrick's assistant, was also very friendly and attentive throughout my visit. Dr. Patrick himself was very thorough in his explanation of my procedure, and the extra time he took to talk things through with me made me feel much more at ease. When it came time for my shots, I expected a lot of discomfort. However, to my surprise I barely even noticed! In fact, I cannot recall any other dental procedure I have ever had that was more comfortable. Since my appointment, I am recovering from my procedure nicely. It has been very easy to get in touch with the office, and I feel like they have gone out of their way to make themselves available to me throughout this process. Thank you all so much for your dedication and care, I will happily recommend you to everyone I know.

Dr Patrick is excellent at his craft. I have now had 2 gum grafts done with him and while it's not a complete walk in the park, it's absolutely not the worst thing to deal with. I'm here on day 2 of the second time around with very minimal pain (only several advil every few hours) and the surgery itself yesterday was pretty easy peasy. He's such a great guy and as others have said, good bedside manner and does indeed give you his cell phone for emergency contact. If you need a periodontist (or implants though I've avoided that so far), I couldn't recommend him more!

The quality of care is fantastic! And Darcy and the team in the front office do a great job, too. Make sure you prepare yourself for a long process, if getting an implant, and be sure to review the after-care and next steps at every stage of the process. I had zero pain, and excellent results. Very good value for the cost (which ain't cheap!)

Just read Jody's thorough review. It's spot on both about the procedure and Dr. Patrick!

If you drew the short straw on needing a gum graft, I highly recommend Dr. Patrick. Look, a gum graft sucks all the way around, but if you need it you might as well go to a surgeon you'll actually like. He's basically a personal hero of mine, which I'll get to shortly. His staff is super sweet and nobody laughed at me when I delayed my surgery to go the the New Kids/Paula Abdul/ Boyz II Men concert even though I was practically asking for it. I opted not to learn anything about how a gum graft works prior to the surgery because it is one of few topics that makes me queasy. I told myself it was probably done with lasers and advanced NASA-style technology for maximum efficiency, and that I could return to work in two days. It's not, and I didn't. It's actually a somewhat barbaric procedure that kept me home for 5 days - not just due to pain and soreness. I didn't want to subject anyone to my cat breath caused by necrotic tissue slowly sloughing away from the wounds. So keep that in mind when planning your recovery. They also say no vigorous exercising for 3 days, and this makes me LOL because you aren't eating anything and you have no energy for even moderate exercise. I read like 6 novels and watched the entire 3rd season of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt while recovering because all I could do was sit around feeling like Bane in the Batman movies. The surgery itself wasn't so bad, mainly because Dr. Patrick and his assistant kept the upbeat chatter going the whole time, which distracted me from visualizing the procedure. Otherwise I would have peed myself. Post op, I won't lie to you, is a painful, disgusting process. You'll grow tired of the few foods you can eat including nondairy ice cream, you can't brush or floss the area or even look at it. DON'T LOOK AT THE GRAFT. Don't even google it. Ignorance is bliss on this one. The mouth guard and the putty they give you will be your best friends for 4 or 5 days. Dr. Patrick will prescribe painkiller and antibiotics just in case but I didn't need them. I only took Advil and I was fine. He also gives out his cell phone number if you have questions, and you're gonna want to keep that number handy. But this part is important and also hilarious. While gingerly brushing my non-affected teeth about 24 hours after the surgery, a piece of dental sponge that CLOSELY resembled mouth tissue fell into the sink while I sort of drooled out the toothpaste (cuz no spitting). I lost consciousness. Twice. I am not exaggerating, I thought the graft came out and I was going to have to do it all over again, and there went my vision and hearing. When I came to, I was drenched in sweat and my husband was asking why I was suddenly unresponsive and green from head to toe. And HERE is where Dr. Patrick is basically a hero of mine. We called him at 9 PM on his cell phone and he answered and he talked us through what I was certain was a dental crisis. He assured me that I was fine and told me, "No matter what, Jody, you are going to be okay." Dead serious, I wish we had his number on election night because maybe I wouldn't have woken up the next morning with swollen eyes and a crippling sense of global doom. Even my husband commented on Dr. Patrick's bedside manner, which you don't think matters until it absolutely does. We all three laughed at me while I remained flat on my back trying to will away the nausea, but I slept like a baby that night. So if you've been putting this surgery off like I did for 7 years, just know that people live through it and Dr. Patrick answers his phone.
