As a Virginia native, Dr. Brooke Flaherty attended James Madison University and graduated with honors with an undergraduate degree in Biology. She went on to receive her Doctorate from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry in 2005, where she also completed a residency focused on aesthetics and general dentistry.
Dr. Flaherty made Ruckersville her home in 2007 and has been practicing in the area since then, developing lasting relationships with her patients and the community. While she practices as a general dentist, Dr. Flahertys passions lie in the areas of aesthetic dentistry and orthodontics and she works to create personalized solutions for patients of all ages to make them more comfortable in their smiles. After 10 years in the area, Dr. Flaherty fulfilled her life-long dream and opened her practice alongside Dr. Sauls, a good friend and dentist whose passions complement her own.
As a native of southwest Virginia, Dr. Latasha Sauls feels right at home in Ruckersville. She is happy to have settled here following a tour of Virginia schools. She attended Virginia Tech for her undergraduate education and graduated summa cum laude with a major in Biological Sciences. She then went on to pursue her Doctorate of Dental Surgery at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond and was inducted into the national dental honor society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon.
Dr. Sauls moved to Charlottesville in 2010 to receive additional training at the University of Virginia. She served as Chief Resident during her last year of hospital residency and also volunteered regularly at the Charlottesville Free Clinic. She worked as an associate in the area for several years and as part-time faculty at VCU before deciding to open her own practice with her good friend and colleague, Dr. Flaherty.
Dr. Sauls practices comprehensive general dentistry, but particularly enjoys dentoalveolar surgery and sedation. When not tending to her patients, Dr. Sauls can be found at home with her fianc, Dr. Oscar Vega, their son, Reece, whom they welcomed in April 2016, and their two English bulldogs, Hughie and Mack.
Christine McFadden was born and raised in northern Ohio. She completed her undergraduate education at Akron University and it was there that she met her husband of 29 years, David. They have been blessed with 2 amazing childrena daughter, Alexandria and a son, Nicholas. Christine and her family have lived many places across the country and abroad. They moved to Virginia in 2007 and have enjoyed making it their home. In her free time, Christine likes to take in the outdoors by hiking, skiing, or kayaking. Christine has worked in the dental field in Greene County for the past 10 years and she looks forward to continuing to serve this beautiful community. Drs. Flaherty and Sauls are very grateful for the opportunity to have Christine by their side as they open the doors to their new practice.
Ashley King is originally from the Culpeper area, but moved to Stanardsville five years ago with her husband, Stephen, and their two dogs Rocco and Deuce. Ashley is an avid hunter and outdoorswoman and in the summer, she can often be found at the Outer Banks enjoying beach life. Ashley has worked as a dental assistant for more than 5 years and she is happy to continue that here in Greene County. Ashley loves meeting and getting to know new people and that is one of her favorite things about her job. Both Dr. Flaherty and Dr. Sauls feel extremely lucky to have Ashley with them as they begin their new practice.
Renae Reed hails from nearby Madison County where she lived until relocating to Greene County two years ago after purchasing her first home. She has strong ties to the area and to her siblings and parents. She enjoys participating in obstacle races and mud runs, but mostly loves hanging with her adorable dog, Bon, in her free time. Renae has worked in the dental field for eight years following completion of the CATEC Dental Assisting Program in Charlottesville. She has worked with both Drs. Flaherty and Sauls in the past and they are thrilled to have her as part of their new team.
Ujena Johnson is from the island of Oahu, Hawaii, but has been a resident of Ruckersville since 2013. In her spare time, Ujena enjoys traveling, music festivals and all things related to arts and crafts. She also has two pups, Whiskey and Maverick, and loves spending time with them and her friends and family. Ujena joined our team in February 2017, but has worked in the administrative field for the past 13 years. She is excited to be serving her home community and we are very happy to have her with our practice!
