Dr. Montfort is a graduate of Flagstaff High School as well as a Northern Arizona University Alumnus. He graduated from NAU in 1976 with a degree in Chemistry. Dr. Montfort was accepted into the dental program at University of Southern California and graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1981. He has had a private practice in Flagstaff since 1981 and brought in his first associate, Dr. Bettie Crane in 2005. It has always been the goal of Dr. Montfort to help start up a young dentist and mentor them so in 2008 Dr. Montfort and Dr. Crane brought in Dr. Robert Maurer. In 2015 the 3 doctors formed a group name of Flagstaff Dental Arts.

Dr. Montfort has served on various boards in Flagstaff. The two most recent were the Raymond Education Foundation where he was President of the Board and the Flagstaff Medical Center where he was Chairman of Strategic Planning. He has been a member/President of the Malpais Kawanis, Elks Club and Northern Arizona Dental Society.

Dr. Montfort has kept up with his first class dental education at USC with various study clubs and residency programs serving the longest as Vice President of Northern Arizona Study Club. Recent interests in the Vienna Study Group and Orognathic Bioesthetics have made Dr. Montfort well trained in Advanced Prosthetic Restorative Dentistry. He is also a Cerec Mentor at the Scottsdale Center. His greatest quest is to have balance in both his professional and family life along with personal growth development and health. For this, he is a perpetual student being coached at the Schuster Center for Professional Development in Scottsdale.

Over the years, Dr. Montfort and his wife Lela have been large supporters of local businesses, organizations and artists. They have collected many pieces of local art which are displayed throughout our practice and enjoyed by our great patients. In addition to being an avid golfer, he enjoys spending family time with his wife and 2 children and trumping people with his Harry Potter trivia knowledge!

Dr. Maurer grew up in Tucson, Arizona and came to Flagstaff in 1998 to attend Northern Arizona University. He graduated with a Bachelors degree in Microbiology in 2003 and moved on to the University of Southern California where he was accepted to dental school. Dr. Maurer was awarded several accolades for outstanding achievement in Chemistry throughout his academics. Upon graduating from USC in 2007, Dr. Maurer traveled through Australia before returning to Flagstaff in 2008 and joining Dr. Montforts team of providers. He has volunteered at The Poore Clinic and provided dental care to the inmates at the Coconino County jail.

Outside of the office, Dr. Maurer enjoys time with his wife Wendy and daughter. Together they love the many outdoor activities Northern Arizona offers such as hiking, rock climbing and sand volleyball but his biggest passion is river rafting.

Dr. Crane grew up in both Taiwan and Southern California. She graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science degree from The University of California, Berkeley in Nutritional Science in 1987. She was accepted to the dental program and received her Bachelor of Dental Science and Doctor of Dental Surgery from The University of California, San Francisco in 1992. Since that time, Dr. Crane has practiced general dentistry in adult and pediatric offices. She moved to Flagstaff in 2000 and joined Dr. Montforts team of providers in 2005.

Dr. Crane attends many hours of continuing education courses and thoroughly enjoys a one-on-one relationship with her patients she particularly enjoys treating pre-teens and teenagers. She has a long list of academic accolades, among them are: UC Berkeley Alumni Scholar, UCSF Clinical Commendation, Dawson Academy Completion of Core Curriculum and UCLA A-Z implant Curriculum. She is a member of the American Dental Association, Arizona Dental Association, Northern Arizona Dental Association and UCSF Alumni Association.

Being fluent in Mandarin Chinese, Dr. Crane is a large asset to our Asian community providing dental care where patients feel comfortable speaking their primary language. She is married to Dr. Mark Crane who owns Woodlands Oral Surgery and they are a busy family with 4 children. In any spare time she can find, Dr. Crane enjoys reading, keeping up with nutrition, fitness and overall health.

My name is Carly and I am thrilled to be the newest team member at Flagstaff Dental Arts! It has been a goal of mine to work for this practice since I graduated hygiene school from NAU in 2014. Originally from Georgia, I traveled West and spent some time in Colorado and Montana before ending up in Flagstaff. I fell in love with Arizona and decided not to go any further! Its been an honor to be a part of this community since 2005. Even though my husband and I grew up in the same part of Georgia, we met here, fell in love and got married. Together we love to ski, travel, go boating, hiking, camping, biking if its outdoors, we like to spend time doing it! We have a sweet dog named Willie who joins us on our adventures!

I attended school at Pasadena City College and graduated in 1989 with my RDH license. My husband and I have been in Flagstaff since 1997 and I have been with Flagstaff Dental Arts since 2006. I am a member of the Arizona Dental Hygienists Association and currently see patients 2 days a week. My husband and I have 2 grown children and with an empty nest, we really enjoy camping and fishing together. I also enjoy being active and hiking often.

My husband and I both have families native to Flagstaff. So, I grew up here and graduated from Sinagua High School. I received my Bachelors Degree in Dental Hygiene from Northern Arizona University in 2013 and began working for Flagstaff Dental Arts that summer. The following year, I married my high school sweetheart and we now have a beautiful daughter and an active little boy who are so much fun and keep us on our toes! We are very involved with our family and enjoy spending time outdoors.

I was born and raised in Pasadena, CA. My high school sweetheart and I married, moved to Flagstaff in 1975 and raised 2 daughters here. We celebrated our 45th anniversary in 2020 and now have 2 grandchildren and a grand-dog! I have been in the dental field as an assistant as well as front office for many years and have been with Dr. Montfort since 1991. I am fortunate to have my immediate family right here in Flagstaff and we enjoy lots of time together weekly. I am a big supporter of local Flagstaff businesses and also enjoy gardening, reading and tending to our chickens!

I am from Minnesota but grew up in Phoenix and attended NAU after high school. My Associates Degree is in Interpreting for the Deaf which I acquired through Phoenix College in 1996. I have been in Flagstaff permanently since 1999, went into dentistry in 2001 and have been with Flagstaff Dental Arts since 2010. I have 2 daughters who are just beginning to live independent lives and explore where life is going to take them. I enjoy a wide variety of activities such as traveling, water sports, hiking, volunteering and performing arts.

My name is Zo and I was born and raised in Flagstaff. Flagstaff Dental Arts was my first job and I have been here since 2012. I graduated from High School in the Spring of 2015 and enjoy my full time position here as Dr. Maurers assistant. Outside of the office, I love to read, sketch, hunt and fish. I am very involved with activities in my church and also play the violin. I have enjoyed traveling internationally a little bit and also in the USA to places like New York!

I was born and raised in Flagstaff and graduated from Flagstaff High School. Before joining Flagstaff Dental Arts in 2016, I worked as a phlebotomist at Flagstaff Medical Center. I graduated from Coconino Community College in 2014 with an Associates Degree in Phlebotomy. I have been with my High School sweetheart since my freshman year and we have three beautiful children. Most of my time is spent here in Flagstaff with my family and taking care of my children. We love to live an active lifestyle and spend as much time as possible in the outdoors.

My name is Selma Grace and I was born and raised in Flagstaff. I graduated from Flagstaff High School in 2020 and currently attend NAU where I am working towards a Bachelors in Strategic Communication with an emphasis in Advertising & Marketing. I began working at Flagstaff Dental Arts in 2020 and plan to do so through my years in Flagstaff at NAU. I stay busy with work and school but when I get some free time I enjoy watching movies, playing the piano, reading and listening to music.

I grew up in British Columbia and moved to Flagstaff in 1975. I have a background in science and technology which lead to a meeting with Dr. Montfort in 1991. As a result, I came to work with Dr. Montfort as his Lab Technician. Together, we attended Orognathic Bioesthetics courses and I became certified in OBI. Presently, I supply dental lab work for up to 5 Flagstaff dentists at a time. My wife and I have 3 children and in my spare time I enjoy exploring technology, traveling and time with my family.
