After earning his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from Boston University Dental School in 2004, Dr. Hiren Patel practiced in Connecticut for four years. Because he found Matthews to be a balanced place to raise a family, he made NC his home. After running a successful dental office in Charlotte for 10 years, Dr. Patel opened a second practice First-in-Smiles Dentistry right here in Matthews! He has been helping your neighbors smile with confidence since 2018.
Passionate about dentistry and learning, Dr. Patel regularly advances his knowledge with continuing education. To ensure your family has access to the most comprehensive treatment planning and advanced dental care, Dr. Patel has pursued extensive post graduate training with the prestigious Spears Institute and International Congress of Implantologists (ICOI).
When Dr. Patel was a child, he lost a tooth and it was devastating. This experience prompted both his career and his practice philosophy to help you in any way he can to avoid dental issues so you can keep your healthy smile and confidence.
Balancing old wisdom with the latest technology is Dr. Patels priority. He places his focus on providing a cohesive and comfortable environment for everyone under his care while taking a comprehensive approach to your treatment. Catering to your individual needs, Dr. Patel works with you to establish and preserve a relationship thats based on your positive experience at each dental visit.
When Dr. Patel is not helping others or learning about the newest advances in dental treatments, he enjoys spending time with his family. He and his wife Jagruti have been married since 1999 and have two beautiful children, a daughter name Swamini and a son named Tilak. Dr. Patel is heavily involved with his temple for spiritual growth and stays active by playing golf. He enjoys traveling and learning about new cultures and he reads for enjoyment.

The staff was very friendly and margarita did a great job of cleaning and explaining what she was doing. It was really good to see Dr. Patel again he also did a great job of explaining my dental work in detail

I went here because i had a crown come loose. I was very pleased with Dr. Patel and his staff. Everyone was personable and professional. I will return! I returned to dr. patel as i had a tooth abscess. He is very kind and takes time to explain the options and his staff is so helpful and pleasant. I could not recommend him or his staff more highly. I feel blessed to have found him.

This was my first visit. Cathy (mainly at the desk), Margherita, Aubrey, Kirstie and Doc. Hoy were great. We all had some laughs. It's a small practice and very quaint. Real southern feel!

Dr. Patel is very knowledgeable and honest with his advices. He is very thorough and detailed-oriented with his check-up/procedures. His staff is very friendly and caring. I would highly recommend him to anyone that is looking for a new dentist.

I cannot recommend this dentist enough. I needed a root canal and crown. Dr. Patel and his team moved at my pace, informing me of every next step before doing it, always checking my comfort level. After the procedure that night I didn't even need a Tylenol... pair that with some of the nicest people you could hope to meet. I have found my family's dentist!
