Leavenworth Dentist Dr. Arnett is a life long resident of the Kansas City Metro area. He graduated from Lees Summit High School in 1998 and went to William Jewell College where he Majored in Art and Minored in Biochemistry.
After college, he attended UMKC School of Dentistry, the alma mater of his father, Dr. Douglas Arnett, and his uncle, Dr Jose Almaguer. Dr Arnetts passion for dentistry stemmed from his grandfather, Dr. Jose Almaguer, making him a 3rd generation dentist.
Dr. Arnett strongly believes in continuing education and constantly surpasses his required hours for licensure for both the Missouri and Kansas Dental Boards. In addition to general dentistry and cosmetics, Dr Arnett has also completed advanced educational programs in orthodontics and implant dentistry.
His love of dentistry comes from the opportunity to combine esthetics and function. He loves establishing a personal connection with his patients that enables patients to feel comfortable and satisfied with their treatment.
Dr. Michael D. Arnett has been practicing dentistry since 2006. He worked as an associate dentist in Kansas City, Kansas for three years before opening Briarcliff Dental Care in Riverside, MO in 2009. In the summer of 2017 he purchased the dental practice of Dr. Rod Thiele and re-branded it as First City Dental Care. While getting acclimated to the new surroundings, Dr. Arnett has begun the process of modernizing the office and as a first step; First City Dental Care is now fully digital and paperless. The modernization efforts will continue over the next several years.
To ensure all of Dr. Arnetts patients at both locations have the very best care possible, he hired Dr. Steven J. Frost. Dr. Frost works alongside him at both the Briarcliff and Leavenworth locations. Like Dr. Arnett, Dr. Frost loves establishing a personal connection with his patients. In addition, they both believe strongly in continuing education, so they can offer a wide range of services. It is because of this that we are able to expand the services available to the patients at First City Dental Care. This enables the patients to have the majority of their dental needs met in one location, while keeping the prices affordable. Dr. Arnett and his friendly staff want to build and maintain a long lasting relationship with you, as well as your family and friends!

Although my dental plan was Out-of-Network and i did not have coverage, the staff and dentists at First City treated me very well and helped me find an office that accepted my plan. They developed a teeth work plan that i could use to compare with a future dental plan of action so that i could be sure i wouldn't be taken advantage of. i highly recommend First City Dental.

Was shocked to walk in and see all of the front desk staff without masks on. Was even more surprised when I also saw the bottom half of both the hygienist and dentist's faces during my appointment. I really wish this dental office would have followed the CDC recommendations to keep me feeling safe. I wish the staff would have been more considerate of their patient's health and worn their masks to minimize COVID transmission risk. I've been going here for years, but won't be back. Going to the dentist shouldn't feel like a risk to your health.

I went here today for a cleaning. I usually hate going to the dentist but Paige was so patient with me and SO kind to me. The front desk staff is out of this world amazing and I couldn't be any happier with them. The facility is very tidy and I felt so comfortable with them. They explained everything to me and answered all of my questions without me feeling like I was silly. The dentist himself is also absolutely out of this world. He is friendly and I felt like I have known him my entire life. I love this place.

Highly recommended! Excellent service -the very best! Painless root canal and crown, great results. Dr. Arnett addressed my concerns and eased my anxieties. Exceptional dentists, hygienists, and assistants, as well as very accommodating and friendly staff. I feel very fortunate to be in their care. Thank you First City Dental Care!

Awesome experience today; new patient exam, cleaning, and Xrays. To start with, they accept United Concordia (score for military families) and I was able to get in within two weeks of calling for an appointment. Very friendly, professional receptionists and my hygienist Lauren was AWESOME!!! Gentle but thorough and super sweet. Dr. Frost was equally thorough with my exam and I feel like they are not in the business of "selling services." I will definitely be back!
