First Choice was founded as a combination of three existing dental practices (our West Madison, Downtown Madison, and East Madison clinics) that joined together to operate as one. First Choice grew steadily though the late 90s, adding the UW-Madison Campus and Fitchburg locations. In 2000, the original Downtown Madison clinic was demolished and re-built from scratch. This office would serve as the blueprint for the next phase of First Choices growth.
Beginning in 2000 with the rebuild of the Downtown Madison clinic, First Choice embarked on a period of steady growth fueled by de novo expansion. In 2002, we opened the Verona clinic, which contained centralized corporate offices to house the companys growing clinical support team. The Middleton office opened in 2003, followed by the Sun Prairie office in 2007. In 2008, the ownership group hired a Chief Financial Officer, the Companys first executive-level management team member, to oversee clinical support functions. Hiring a CFO would set the stage for the next phase of growth for First Choice.
Rather than operate as a network of loosely affiliated clinics, as many competitors do, First Choices stakeholders decided that centralization and standardization were necessary to ensure a consistent patient experience. Against the backdrop of the Great Recession, stakeholders worked to perfect the First Choice model, including the addition of in-house specialists, before continuing to grow. In 2013 we opened our Waunakee office, and in 2015 we relocated our clinical support function to a dedicated business office on Madisons west side. 2017 was a big year for First Choice; we added two new clinics, Sun Prairie North (our second Sun Prairie clinic) and Stoughton, bringing our total clinic count to 11.
With 11 clinics in Dane County and industry-leading patient satisfaction, First Choice Dentals stakeholders turned their attention inward, with the aim of creating the best employee experience in dentistry by focusing on employee engagement, diversity, inclusion, and pay equity. First Choice has many more initiatives planned for the near future. The goal is for First Choice Dental to be the #1 choice for doctors, hygienists, and administrative staff. It is the belief of First Choice Dental that great employee experiences help to create even better experiences for our patients.
The people I work with on a day to day basis are great! I love the variety First Choice Dental has to offer to our employees such as location & specialties. They make sure everyone has a great variety of skills that are useful everywhere!
I do think that this organization is a great place to work. People get along well and work well together at my clinic, and the organizations cultural goals are to make everyone feel happy and valued. I feel proud to work for the organization.

I absolutly love this dental office. Every person I have delt with their has been kind, acurate, and thorough. I didnt go to the dentist for years because of an abusive dentist I went to as a kid. I mentioned my anxiety and the Drs amd hygienists were super helpful at making me me safe and welcome!

Everyone at this facility is so patient and so friendly! The gals at reception are always quick to answer my questions - both in person and via email. The hygienist, Julie, I worked with had so much patience and explained in great detail everything that was going to be done and needed to be done and exhibited so much compassion and care. And the dentist, Dr. Andrew Budi, has such a quirky sense of humor that helped make everything a bit more painless. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone who's not wild about going to the dentist - these folks really go above and beyond to make it as enjoyable of an experience as they can.

The staff at the Wilburn location are AMAZING! Dr. Budde is a phenomenal dentist with a great sense of humor. The customer service is stellar, and the dental procedures I had were completed efficiently, with great expertise. This is the best dental clinic I have ever experienced!

Always go above and beyond standard service. My family have been customers for over 30yrs. We moved over an hour away 25yrs ago but remained patients because of exceptional service and flexibility with scheduling. Emergency service is always provided within 24 hrs. Can't praise the staff enough for all they've done for us over the years.

Sun Prairie location on Wilburn always does a great job with me and my kiddo. Dr. Budi is fantastic with kids and making them comfortable and I can always count on him for a good dad joke to get me through my own dental work. I've continued to go here even after I moved out of the area because it's so hard to find a good dental clinic that will make you comfortable.

I just had my first appointment here, and I was very satisfied. They got me in soon after I called and were very helpful with their reminders. Once I was at the office, everyone was friendly and informative, and I even got in a few minutes early. Kelly was my hygienist, and she was wonderful! She gave me thorough answers to all my questions, great explanations of every step during the appointment, and kept a smile on my face. All of this made for a great first impression!

I don't know how many people can say they love going to the dentist, but I sure do! Julie & the other hygienists are welcoming & personable, always remembering things we've talked about in previous visits and asking about our lives in a genuinely interested way. They are efficient and thorough, whether conducting cleanings or X-rays, and somehow manage to make explanations of flossing and bacteria not only informative but also interesting. Dr. Budi is knowledgeable and friendly, and the office staff is so helpful when scheduling appointments. (They are also graciously accommodating if we have to cancel and reschedule.) Most importantly, our family's teeth look and feel great, and we have maintained excellent dental health in the years we've been going to the Sun Prairie North clinic. We highly recommend First Choice Dental!

I've had a lot of work done here and each time I've had next to zero pain afterward. Dr Budi and his staff are great! If you've had a bad experience with a dentist in the past then I highly recommend you come here. They took extra time to listen to my concerns and made sure that I was comfortable.

My wife and I are very pleased with our choice of First Dental. We were particularly impressed with the care practiced in oral screening for possible non-tooth stuff. We like how up front you are with insurance, billing, and cost estimates. The layout of the clinic is aethetically pleasing and modern. Minor suggestion: I'm a coffee guy. I asked why no cups or coffee displayed. The explanation makes total sense, COVID. A small card in the coffee area would be helpful.

Julie is the best hygienist in the business! She has helped me to get and maintain healthy teeth and gums-best of my 41 years. Everyone at this location is very friendly and welcoming. And even though I've moved away, I will continue to only visit First Choice in SP.
