Dr. Russell grew up in the farm country of Southern California and moved to the Seattle area in 1995 after marrying his sweetheart, Brooke. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Washington in Cell and Molecular Biology and Finnish. He also earned his dental degree from the University of Washington School of Dentistry. Upon graduating from dental school, Dr. Russell enlisted in the United States Air Force as a medical officer in the Dental Corps.
While in the military, he attended specialty residency training at Keesler Air Force Base Medical Center. This advanced training included: Oral Medicine, Oral Surgery, Endodontics, Prosthodontics, and Pedodontics. He has been a dentist in Bremerton and Bainbridge Island since 2006. Recently, Dr. Russell went back to the University of Washington Foster School of Business to obtain his M.B.A. degree.
Together with his wife and five children, they are proud and involved members of their community. Additionally, Dr. Russell is a veteran and maintains his service in the Air Force as an active reservist at McChord AB (JBLM). He enjoys serving his country and proudly wears the uniform. Dr. Russell looks forward to working with a wonderful staff and meeting with patients.
Dr. Redfern was born and raised in Missoula, Montana, and is the eldest of three siblings. He graduated from the University of Montana in 1973 with a degree in zoology and then moved to Seattle for dental school. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Washington in 1977 and then practiced dentistry for three years in Okinawa, Japan for the US Navy. Upon returning to the US, Dr. Redfern opened this very practice in Poulsbo, WA, and has enjoyed living in the Pacific Northwest for the past three decades.
With thirty-five years of experience in family dentistry, Dr. Redfern has continued to complete hundreds of hours of courses in postgraduate dentistry. He is interested in studying current advancements in dentistry, periodontal surgery, and he constantly keeps up-to-date with the latest technologies. He is dedicated to providing the best possible care and options for his patients and often participates in local study groups. He also regularly attends seminars to learn how to implement advanced techniques and equipment.
For the last few years, Dr. Redfern has provided dental care for the poor in Haiti and plans to continue to make that trip annually. When Dr. Redfern is not practicing his passion for dentistry, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Mary, and their two grown daughters. His favorite hobby involves working on automobile projects in his shop at home and searching for lost treasures in the local junkyards.
Dr. Josiah Clements graduated from the University of Washington Dental School and joined the Islandental team in 2021.Dr. Clements has always wanted to help people and sees his work in dentistry as an avenue to contribute to the well-being of those in his community. He volunteered for two years with Share a Smile, providing dental care for people without homes.Drawn to esthetic dentistry, Dr. Clements has been formally recognized for his work in implant dentistry, receiving the Academy of Osseointegration Outstanding Dental Student in Implant Dentistry Award in 2021. He also received the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology Horace Wells Senior Student Award UWs oral surgery department.
Dr. Clements spends most of his spare time with his wife and kids, playing at parks, riding bikes, camping, and swimming. In fact, hes happiest when surrounded by water and loves the ocean. Hes also comfortable around the craziness of large families as he has 11 siblings and 39 nieces and nephews. He loves watching and playing sports: soccer, basketball, and footballSeahawks and BYU Cougars! And he can often be found trying out a new recipe on the grill/smoker, or cooking a favorite Brazilian dish.

Very disappointed to see at least three of their staff members NOT wearing a mask for extended periods of time. This shows little regard to the public's health or well being, let alone their own clientele. A plexiglass shield is no substitute for masks, nor in compliance with the state mandate. Covid19 is not prevented by a plexiglass shield, furthermore, while patients have their mouths open during the care of a dentist, the least any safe practice can do is to make sure their staff is wearing a mask at all times. It's concerning for health professionals to not be aware of this, and makes you question their competence. Less excuses & more effective safety measures please!

Always feel thoroughly cared for in a warm, friendly, professional atmosphere. Our whole family appreciates the high quality workmanship of Dr. Redfern. When my husband had to see another dentist for an emergency and was asked, "Who did that crown? It's perfect.", the emergency dentist was not surprised that it was Dr. Redfern.

I took my 6 year old son to Dr. Redfern's office to have an extraction done. Dr. Redfern and staff made my son feel comfortable throughout the entire experience. All staff in the back wore masks and there is an impressive plexiglass shield at the front desk to give a barrier from patients and office gals during this pandemic. All around very impressed!

I grew up in Poulsbo, WA. My dentist was named DR. Puen. He was amazing. After growing up I procured a new Dentist in Silverdale, WA, who Destroyed my mouth. After three years of being sceptical of Dentists. Dr. Redfern accepted me as a patient. I have never been More grateful for a medical professional to accept Me as patient. After my initial intake I was skeptical, But I have JUST had my first appointment. I HAVE NEVER SPENT $300 bucks better!!! NOT only was he gentle and caring, but he knew Exactly what I needed. After explaining to Me what needed to be Done, he spent more time on my tooth then I paid for. Charitable, Kind, and Respecting are the least words I can say. What Needs to be said about Dr Redfern is specifically about his caring touch, His kind attitude, and his genuine respect for humans. I am only speaking from first hand experience. You will NEVER go wrong with DR. Redfern. He is great! My experience is that he is more concerned about his patients' health then the Almighty Dollar.
