Dr. Purps started out as a certified Lab technician in Germany, where she dedicated her time to learning the tedious work of making precision crowns and bridges, as well a wide variety of prosthetic appliances, like precision attachment partial dentures and fine ceramic full mouth combination cases.
Then she went on to become a dentist, started at Friedrich-Alexander University in Erlangen (rated #1 University in Germany, #15 in the world), and graduated from Julius-Maximilians University in Wuerzburg, Germany. During that time she researched the field of dental implants. Having to take care of 225 patients over a period of three years with one to 10 dental implants, as her clinical dissertation. She co-authored a publication in 1998 about endosseous dental implants- a long-term study, year 5-7.
Being inspired by American dentistry she came to the US and passed all four necessary dental boards, partially at the University of Southern California and the University of the Pacific. During that time she worked as a high tech consultant for a very reputable dental company, KaVo America. Also while waiting for the results of the board exams, she enjoyed working all angles in the dental office as a receptionist, dental assistant, hygienist, and lab technician to learn about workflow and patient service in a private practice setting.
Later on, she bought her first practice from Dr. Bernhard Martin in 2001 in San Diego and was a partner at Brewer, Deal, Hansen, and Purps for several years until she went Solo with her State of the Art Private Practice in 2005. Her office is still one of the most contemporary and high-tech offices to date in Southern California.
Throughout the years on her quest to solve her own dental problems, shesought outthe best Continuing Education courses available in the US and Germany to find answers on how to preserve a lifelong healthy smile applying the most biocompatible resources possible.
Extensive studies of head, neck, and biomechanics help her to solve the most hidden problems to ensure every individual patients satisfaction. Alongside applying contemporary ways to help detox patients from previous materials used.
Training included Dr. Spears series, Dr. Kois, Pankey Institute, Dawson Academy, The Schuster Center, Mastery with Dr. Cooper and finally, she found scientific answers at the Foundation for Bioesthetic Dentistry.
after 33 years in the field, Im being still utmost enthusiastic about dentistry, and enjoying every day of treating patients like family and treating everyone like I like to be treated myself. Teaching patients and fellow professionals on how to reach Optimum Dental Health is a passion.
Her love for thehuman smile and passion for her profession led the way to further her studies and is a practicing Orofacial Myology Therapist with an emphasis on Thumb sucking elimination. She also became a Buteyko Breathing Educator.
Beverly joined Fine Dentistry in March 2020 as a treatment coordinator. She began her dental career in 2001 as a registered dental assistant. She made the transition to the front office in 2011, but still loves to work in the clinical setting when given an opportunity.I love every aspect of dentistry-from the science to patient education and treatment. I chose to join this amazing team because they provide excellent quality of care and service.In her spare time, Beverly loves to share her passion for health and wellness with others, spending time with her husband and 3 amazing children, Zumba, hiking, and drinking local IPA. Not always in that order!

Darin has been working in the dental field since 2002 and could not be happier about his work!He finds great satisfaction in helping put smiles back on the faces of patients, getting them back in the game, and building their confidence. I am a mechanical engineer and I can tell you one thing. You want something done right and you want it done right the first time. Things get complicated all by themselves and you need to realize that, agree to it, not get frustrated by it, and do the job right! That is the way doctor Sabine works. She thoroughly understands the complexities of dental work and all the tiny details that make the difference between a good job and a great job. You can count on her to do the job right the very first time she does it and to give you results that will last you a lifetime! It didn't take me very long to realize that she is the best doctor I have ever been to.

I have had headaches for years and was put on medications by my doctor to help but after visiting Dr. Purps she fitted me with a mouth guard and now my headaches are almost completely gone. By far the best investment I have made.

Absolutely the best dentist I've been to in my life. Dr Purps is incredible, she takes time with you and really wants to educate and inform you before jumping into drilling and working on your teeth. Dr. Purps is AMAZING! She is knowledgeable, proficient, a perfectionist and artist. She cares so much about her patients' outcomes - she is phenomenal. Her staff, Marcia, Darren and Beverly are all wonderful too. The office has all the latest equipment and the atmosphere inside is super relaxing & calming. Dr.purps and Her Dental assistant, went above and beyond to make sure I had no pain. Dr.Purps stopped when my anxiety was at an all time high. She showed me breathing techniques to be able to continue. Dr.purps is very knowledgeable and up to date on dentistry . The dental hygienist and the receptionist ready to help and listen to any of your needs you may have ! I highly recommend this Dentist office to any who is afraid. I left knowing that my over all health is cared for and not afraid to return. Dr Purps is amazing. I've suffered with joint and tooth pain for so long. The night guard I had made elsewhere did not to anything to relieve my discomfort. I came to her prepared for the worst...that I'd need root canals, surgeries and other pricey treatment. With a simple adjustment to my night guard she had me feeling so much better! I had 18 shims (normal is zero) meaning I had been pounding on my teeth so heavily, this causing my horrible symptoms. She has made a night and day difference my life. Thank you Dr Purps!!!! You're a rock star! I'll never get dental treatment anywhere else.

Dr. Purps is very knowledgeable, explains well, thorough and handled my emergency with compassion, expertise, and efficiency. She went above and beyond in the care she provided. We actually enjoyed going to the dentist with her professionalism and she was so personable. The office is amazing - with an atmosphere that is calming and inviting. Love this office & staff. It feels like home every time I visit & am greeted by Bev, assisted by Darren & treated by Dr. Purps. They are all so sweet & personable & truly caring experts in their field. They make a great team & their passion shows in their work every time I visit. Right now, I see them every couple of weeks for my Invisalign, but I also receive treatment for regular cleanings, whitening, night-guard/TMJ, & more! Dr. Sabine is concerned with how your teeth, smile and bite affect your whole person. She is real, genuine, thoughtful and thorough. Her past work as a dental technician has made her keenly aware of what is needed.
