The practice was built by Dr. Vincent Finazzo and following in his footsteps, is now in the hands of his niece, Dr. Josephine Finazzo. Serving the communities of Southgate, Wyandotte, Riverview, Trenton, Taylor, Allen Park, and surrounding Downriver Detroit communities for over 40 years, Finazzo Orthodontics Specialists has help build beautiful smiles for generations of children and adults.

I feel extremely blessed that I have been given the opportunity to be part of the orthodontic profession. It is truly an honor to be trusted by my patients to provide them with the smiles they desire and the confidence they deserve.
I completed my undergraduate education at the University of Miami and continued on to the University of Florida College of Dentistry for my Doctorate of Dental Medicine. In order to achieve my goal of becoming an orthodontist, I attended the University of Detroit Mercy Dental School for my orthodontic certification. By regularly participating in continuing education, I am able to stay current on the latest technology and orthodontic treatments. My patients deserve the best, and continuing education allows me to provide them with more options and better results.
I am originally from Miami, Florida and have lived in the downriver area for 25 years. My life outside the office is dedicated to my family, which includes my three sons and our two dogs. I also enjoy keeping fit and active.

We will do all we can to eliminate any surprises and make your orthodontic experience as comfortable and care-free as possible. Our team is made up of dedicated individuals, all mothers themselves, who provide the same level of care they would give to their own children.

Super expensive compared to many other high quality orthodontists. They were charging me for every single appliance separately. Just for the top palette expander it was over $3k. It would've cost around 10k+ by the time they finished if I stuck with them and they couldn't even .figure out how to use the face guard. I went to another orthodontist and it was $3K FOR THE ENTIRE THING, the other place said they would've included everything, all appliances and braces plus face guard for 3k. This place is a rip off. And it's super dirty inside like a 1/4" thick layer of dust on their lights they use over head. Gross

I still get compliments on my teeth 12 years after having braces. Why I cannot give 5 starts is because this practice used a PERMANENT cement retainer on my bottom teeth and they did this on many of my friends who also saw them around the time that I did. To this day dentists have struggled to remove the cement left over after I had the cement retainer removed.... Finally my amazing dentist I have currently was able to remove it ALL. I was told by my current dentist and previous dentists how bad permanent cement retainers are for our teeth. I really hope this office isn't doing these kind of damaging retainers anymore and to all parents reading this who wants to take their kids to dr. Finazzo for orthodontics I would say go for it but when your child is ready to get braces removed DO NOT allow them to put cement retainers.

Dr. Finazzo gave me perfect teeth! I'm in my 30s now and my teeth look great, get compliments all the time, including from other professionals. He is a detail-oriented perfectionist! Doesn't get any better.

Everyone in the back is usually pretty good but the front desk is very snappy whenever I call for anything, like it's a hassle I need something... Never had issues calling on anything anywhere else. Also my daughter gets scared about feeling pain so naturally she is standoffish and rather than bare with her they can be pushy and aggressive at times. This is very disappointing as I choose to go here after my ex-husband and his family went there years and years ago and it's only down the street. I seriously regret my decision but hey I'm already almost 3 grand deep now... Unless you are super easy and your kids are over 12 and compliant I would choose a different place.
