Dr. Kevin Fielding was graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry/Baltimore College of Dental Surgery in 2002, after which he served three years in the U.S. Air Force Dental Corps, including a one year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency covering all areas of general dentistry. He is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, OKU Honorary Dental Society, Gamma Pi Delta Prosthodontic Honor Society and Gorgas Odontological Honorary Society. He has achieved his Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry and Fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI), and is working toward his Mastership in the ICOI with more than 1600 hours of continuing education currently completed. Dr. Kevin has also completed many courses at the prestigious Pankey Institute and has provided humanitarian dental care in Kyrgyzstan, Dominican Republic, Haiti and to the Navajo of New Mexico.
Dr. Fielding has completed over 1600 hours of continuing education in all areas of general dentistry, including a one year implant mini residency and numerous courses at the Pankey Institute.He is a Master of the Academy of General Dentistry and Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI) and is currently working toward his Mastership in the ICOI. Dr. Edward Shaivitz is now retired, but continues to serve as a friend and mentor to the practice. He is a native Baltimorean who grew up in the Mt. Washington area. He graduated from Baltimore City College High School where he played football and lacrosse. Dr. Shaivitz then graduated with honors from Rutgers university and received his dental degree from the University of Maryland Dental School. After graduating from dental school, he completed an internship at the world renowned Eastmon Dental Center. He practiced dentistry for four years before returning to the University of Maryland Dental School where he received his certificate in the specialty of prosthodontics. Prosthodontics is the branch of dentistry concerned with crown and bridge work, dentures, implants and cosmetic procedures. Dr. Shaivitz is also trained in Six Month Smiles, Invisalign (orthodontic treatments) and is an experienced provider of LANAP. LANAP is the non-surgical treatment of periodontal disease using a specialized laser. He is a certified LANAP regenerative specialist.
Dr. Shaivitz has practiced dentistry for over 30 years in Laurel, Maryland. He is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Maryland State Dental Association, and the Baltimore County Dental Association. He continues to attend courses to keep up to date on the newest techniques and the latest research.
The practice was started by Dr. Daniel Fieldingin 1976, retiring in 2010 after 43 years of service to his patients.He is currently enjoying retirement with his wife, Jill, and when not helping out with one of their 5 grandsons, they take an occasional local or international trip. Dr. Dan was graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery in 1967. He then served three years in the U.S. Air Force Dental Corps, including a one year internship providing additional training in all aspects of general dentistry. Dr. Dan is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, OKU Honorary Dental Society and Gorgas Odontological Honorary Society. He is a Master of the Academy of General Dentistry, an accomplishment that less than 1% of all general dentists have achieved.
Louise Reiter, our administrative assistant, has been in the dental field for over 20 years. She loves to accommodate our patients with great customer service. In her spare time she loves spending time with family in Boston and also hanging out at the beach with friends. On Friday nights, she works and has fun at the VFW bingo in Essex.
Rachel Rodriguezhas been a Maryland resident since 1995. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene, and was awarded the Distinguished Scholar Award from the University of Maryland Dental School. Rachel began her dental career working alongside Dr. Daniel Fielding in 1997.
In 2002, Rachel left the practice to raise her two wonderful children. A staunch advocate of a healthy lifestyle, she has shown her passion for challenge and achievement via completion of two Iron Girl Triathlons as well as Half -Marathons. With a passion for educating others, Rachel began a teaching career at the Community College of Baltimore Countys Dental Hygiene School that lasted over three years.
Life has come full circle for Rachel as she has found herself once again with the team here at Fielding Dental in 2015 as the full time Dental Hygienist. Her lifes experience as a mother, educator and competitor compel her to treat her patients individually and with empathy. Rachel loves being a Hygienist and knows that this is where shes meant to be for the remainder of her career.
Cathy Clark has been working as a Registered Dental Hygienist since 2000, when she was graduated with a Bachelor's degree from the University of New England. Cathy started in the dental field working for Dr. Daniel Fielding as a dental assistant, which later inspired her to become a hygienist. She has two wonderful sons. Her older son serves our country in the Army. Her younger son plays lacrosse for the University of Maryland, College Park. She enjoys being a grandmom of 3 precious boys, loves gardening, antiquing and coaxing her patients to floss!
Janet Warlick has worked with our practice for over 14 years as a chairside dental assistant. Her career in the dental field started at Essex Community College in 1986, where she received her AA degree the Dental Assisting Program. In 1987, she passed the Maryland State Board for Certified Dental Assistant, General Chairside Assistant, and Radiation Health and Safety. Janet has been a member of the National Association of Dental Assistants and the Dental Assisting National Board since 1992. She is married to her high school sweetheart, Dan, and they have three beautiful girls.
