Dr. Tam, a native born Californian hailing from San Francisco, has been calling New York City home since 2001. He attended UCLA (Go Bruins!) for his Bachelor of Science in Microbiology/ Molecular Genetics and Business Administration. He was introduced to dentistry during his time at UCLA while volunteering to provide medical and dental care access in underserved communities within the Los Angeles area. He gave up the California sunshine in order to pursue his interest in dentistry at the NYU College of Dentistry where he obtained his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. From there, he chose to further his education and expertise in the field by completing a General Practice Residency at Montefiore Medical Center and then a specialty residency in Endodontics at NYU College of Dentistry.
During his pre-doctoral and post-doctoral training Dr. Tam was awarded many distinctions, presented lectures, taught endodontics on the NYUCD clinic floor, volunteered in dental related services, participated in multiple research projects and has published as the principle co-investigator in the Journal of Dental Education (http://www.jdentaled.org/content/72/3/352.full).
While Dr. Tam was busy completing his specialty training, the charms of New York City took hold and he fell in love with this vibrant, diverse, and unique metropolitan. There truly is no other city like NYC. In his free time enjoys basking in everything this city has to offer; whether that is a mind-blowing meal at any number of restaurants, to a concert or musical, to a bike ride around Governors Island. Although he now calls New York City home, he remains loyal to his teams in the Bay Area, and you may catch him sporting a Warriors jersey or a pair of Bruins socks.
Over the years in private practice Dr. Tam has become a trusted referral for many dentists in the area since 2009 and thus established FiDi Endodontics in 2017. He loves dentistry and is always striving to further his knowledge of the field in order to provide the best treatment possible for his patients. He continues to provide stellar care, education and compassion to his patients as well as maintaining communication and trusted relationships with referring doctors.
Dr. Won is a native New Yorker, born and raised on Long Island. After completing a Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience at Vassar College, she went on to attend dental school at Stony Brook University, where she graduated with honors in Endodontics. Upon earning her DDS degree, she continued to anAdvanced Education program in General Dentistry at the Veterans Affairs hospital in Manhattan.
Dr. Won practiced as a General Dentist before pursuing her passion in endodontics. She attended New York University for post- graduate specialty training in surgical and non-surgical root canal therapy, management of dental traumas, regeneration, and retreatments.
Dr. Won is currently a board-eligible clinical instructor at NYU and participates in global outreach missions to underserved communities. She is an active member of the American Association of Endodontists, New York State Dental Association and American Dental Association.
Dr.Jonathan Kimwas born inTexas, but was raised in Seoul, Korea. Dr. Kimearned hisDoctor of Dental Surgery degree at theUniversity of the Pacific, Arthur Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco. Following hisdental school,he gained extensivetraining by completinga general practiceresidency (GPR) program atSt. Barnabas Hospital inNew York. He then completed an intensiveendodonticinternshipprogramat Montefiore Hospital in New York.Upon finishing the internship, Dr. Kimworked as a general dentistand taught general practiceresidents at Montefiore Hospital as an attending professor. He went on to complete his specialty training in microsurgicalendodonticsatBoston UniversityinMassachusetts.
During dental school and residency program, Dr. Kim always strived to go above and beyond academically and clinically, and was honored towin research awards. Hecontinually researches on endodontic topics and enjoys presenting them to dentists, residents and dental students.
Dr. Kim has relentlessly worked to improvehisability to provide high-quality endodontic treatments since 2014, and is a board-certified endodontist.Dr. Kim isalso deeply committed to positively changing patients' dental experience by providing treatments in a warm, sincere, and thorough way.
Dr. Wu received DMD from Boston University Henry M Goldman School of Dental Medicine with high honors in 2016 and was inducted in the prestigious OKU National Dental Honor Society. After finishing her dental school Dr. Wu followed her passion to pursue specialization in Endodontics at her alma mater. Dr. Wu is a board-eligible endodontist and is trained in the most advancedtechniquesin her field; including both surgical and non-surgical root canal therapies with the help of cone beam computed tomography, operating microscopes and ultrasonics.
Born in Minnesota, Dr. Wu has lived in different countries and travelled places. Growing up, she was always passionate about trying and learning new things and appreciate all the different cultures. In her free time Dr. Wu enjoys watching documentaries, movies and playing musical instruments. Her most recent goal is to participate inmarathons in coming years.

I had Dr Angela Wu as my doctor. The entire process was seemless. The office called me the day before to let me know how much my insurance was going to cover or not going to cover, what the out of pocket expenses would be. I am not going to lie, a root canal is invasive - I had a crown on mine, and it took about 2ish hours of drilling which was not the most pleasant. Whenever I felt a little pain (I already had an inflamed nerve), therefore the root canal, Dr Wu made sure I was ok, had to inject more pain killers, and explained in detail what she was going to do before hand. She also told me to Advil up for the next few days. It has been 24 hours, a little sore, as expected as I had already had that inflamed nerve. I hope this is the end of pain on that tooth. Great experience with the clinic and the dentist, not so great, I had to have a root canal in the first place.

Dr Lawrence Tam is a miracle worker!! I cannot recommend him and his staff enough. He is the most caring, attentive, and skilled (according to my general dentist who was very impressed by his work) that I have seen. He spent hours with me explaining things and saving my tooth and I don't think I've ever had that level of care before! If this review doesn't tell you enough- I've sent my mother and my best friend to him and his office!!

Dr. Tam and his staff are excellent. I needed a root canal, which Dr. Tam performed. He was extremely patient and empathetic. I was fortunate to find such a wonderful dentist and I absolutely recommend him!

This is a highly organized, efficient, and friendly clinic. Dr. Angela Wu, in particular, is a wonderful dentist. Throughout a very complex and lengthy root canal procedure she was caring, reassuring, and patient. What is more, she is clearly a master technician.

I have to Dr Tam's office twice for 2 separate root canals and both experiences have been great. Both had minimal pain during and after the procedures, and Dr Tam has excellent bedside manners. Would definitely recommend!

I just wanted to leave a 5-star review for Dr. Tam! My mom (who doesn't speak any English) called him and asked him a lot of questions regarding her tooth. Even though Dr. Tam doesn't accept her insurance, he was super patient with my mom and answered all her questions, after that he even spoke with me to make sure we understood what was needed to be done for her tooth. This shows that Dr. Tam truly cares about everyone (my mom wasn't even his patient). We are more than grateful! Thank you Dr. Tam!

I was referred to Dr. Tam by my primary dentist for a root canal retreatment. Turns out that I had a fracture, and although he could perform a retreatment in the hopes of saving the tooth while also charging me for the service, he instead advised me that extraction with my dentist would be the cheaper and more effective route. I can't tell you how much I appreciate honest and moral Healthcare practitioners. Though I didn't actually get a procedure performed during my visit, I wouldn't hesitate referring people here, knowing that they will get an hi eat evaluation.

Dr. Lawrence Tam was excellent he explained everything about the root canal procedure. The procedure was smooth and pain free. He also made the experience more comfortable by allowing you to select what type of music you wanted to listen to during the root canal.

I am grateful that Dr. Anglea Wu saved my tooth! I have been to many dentists in my life so far and needed root cancel treatment a few times, and Dr. Wu by far is the best Endodontist.
