Dr. Ferris was born in San Antonio and raised in Brady, Texas. After earning his bachelors degree at Texas A&M University, he gained early acceptance into the number one ranked dental school in the country at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio where he earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. There he received numerous awards and was valedictorian of his class. He then received his orthodontic specialty training at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas where he was awarded the Outstanding Achievement Award for Excellence in Orthodontics. In May 2003, Dr. Ferris was awarded the Earl Shepard Award of Distinction for achieving the highest score in the nation on the American Board of Orthodontics Phase II Examination, which tests ones knowledge of diagnosis and treatment of various orthodontic problems. He has lectured at the Gorman Institute annual meeting.
Dr. Ferris has been in practice since 2001. Dr. Ferris and his wife, Sharlynn, reside in Boerne with their daughters Madison and Emmy. His interests outside of orthodontics include time with family, participating in stock shows and rodeos with his daughters, ranching and church activities.
Dr. Megan Hembree, a native of the West Texas town of Muleshoe and began her career in orthodontics working as a chairside assistant throughout college for Dr. Christopher Anderson in Lubbock. Dr. Hembree graduated first in her class at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Dental School, before completing her Orthodontic residency at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas. She has been in private practice in San Antonio since September 2007.
Dr. Hembree also served on numerous committees and served as a class officer throughout dental school. During her orthodontic training she received her Masters degree conducting research with temporary anchorage devices used in orthodontics which was published in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics in March 2009.
She met and married her husband, Ben Hembree, a San Antonio native, as a volunteer leader for Young Life while she was in dental school. Together they enjoy spending time with their three children Chance, Hallie and Clayton. Outside the office, Dr. Hembree enjoys activities at her church as well as snow skiing, time at Lake LBJ, working out and keeping up with her three children.
Dr. Ferris has been in practice since 2001. Dr. Ferris and his wife, Sharlynn, reside in Boerne with their daughters Madison and Emmy. His interests outside of orthodontics include time with family, church activities, exercising and being outdoors.

SUPER disappointed in Ferris Bulverde/Spring Branch after years of supporting them and referring SO many people to them. My daughter had a PERMANENT retainer/wire break out of her mouth, thus not permanent. We called, they fixed it, no problem, no charge. Months later the same thing happens. The second time it happened they gave me a $300 bill! Their reason is because we didn't bring in the wire. Well we still have the wire and had we been told to bring in the 1/2 inch wire for $300 we absolutely would have done it. Then they said it was the 2nd time they fixed it yet said nothing to us about the first one being an issue nor did they ask for the wire the first time. I told them I would bring in the wire yet they still want me to pay $300. After I reiterate the above and try to apply their logic, they told me they would split the bill with me. The wire is literally 1/2 inch long and has no value yet they are trying to apply principal to it without taking ownership or responsibility of their communicating the expectations. Needless to say I will be sending them $150, I will tell everyone we know about the situation advising the lack of transparency about their billing and lack of logic when it comes to service and without a doubt, the wire valued at $300 will be taped to the bill.

Dr Ferris is awesome!!!! He knows my case and he communicates with me and keeps my dentist updated on my progress. You don't find many doctors out there as personable as he is with each of his patients. is friendly, very professional, they take very good care of their patients.

I admit I was a little nervous for my 8 year old to get braces but Ferris Orthodontics walked us through the whole process and it has been a positive experience so far! They are attentive and friendly and make it fun for the kids during the process.

Everyone is super nice? They gave me a time frame for my daughter's braces and it has been correct. Which was not the case at different orthodontist for my older daughter. If something is wrong they work you in right away! Love Dr. Hembree and her team.

Wonderful staff! I can not say enough good things three kiddos and myself have had braces here in and out no problem with every appointment! One boy will be starting his second phase soon and then one kiddo left after that!
