Dr. Ferris was born in San Antonio and raised in Brady, Texas. After earning his bachelors degree at Texas A&M University, he gained early acceptance into the number one ranked dental school in the country at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio where he earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. There he received numerous awards and was valedictorian of his class. He then received his orthodontic specialty training at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas where he was awarded the Outstanding Achievement Award for Excellence in Orthodontics. In May 2003, Dr. Ferris was awarded the Earl Shepard Award of Distinction for achieving the highest score in the nation on the American Board of Orthodontics Phase II Examination, which tests ones knowledge of diagnosis and treatment of various orthodontic problems. He has lectured at the Gorman Institute annual meeting.
Dr. Ferris has been in practice since 2001. Dr. Ferris and his wife, Sharlynn, reside in Boerne with their daughters Madison and Emmy. His interests outside of orthodontics include time with family, participating in stock shows and rodeos with his daughters, ranching and church activities.
Dr. Megan Hembree, a native of the West Texas town of Muleshoe and began her career in orthodontics working as a chairside assistant throughout college for Dr. Christopher Anderson in Lubbock. Dr. Hembree graduated first in her class at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Dental School, before completing her Orthodontic residency at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas. She has been in private practice in San Antonio since September 2007.
Dr. Hembree also served on numerous committees and served as a class officer throughout dental school. During her orthodontic training she received her Masters degree conducting research with temporary anchorage devices used in orthodontics which was published in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics in March 2009.
She met and married her husband, Ben Hembree, a San Antonio native, as a volunteer leader for Young Life while she was in dental school. Together they enjoy spending time with their three children Chance, Hallie and Clayton. Outside the office, Dr. Hembree enjoys activities at her church as well as snow skiing, time at Lake LBJ, working out and keeping up with her three children.
Dr. Ferris has been in practice since 2001. Dr. Ferris and his wife, Sharlynn, reside in Boerne with their daughters Madison and Emmy. His interests outside of orthodontics include time with family, church activities, exercising and being outdoors.

Ferris has served my first two children very well! Just had an initial consult for my third child and was given a huge answer to why our child is a mouth breather only, when other specialists didn't give us any answers. So thankful for Dr. Ferris' level of expertise and good recommendations for other providers to work together to solve this challenge my son has had for years.

The level of service and relationship fostered by Dr. Ferris and his staff is wonderful. We have spent the past 1.5 years going to the Boerne & Leon Springs office while our son endured the journey of braces:) We have felt like we are part of the Ferris family throughout the entire process. Oh! And our son's teeth look amazing!!!

Feels like family!!! Very kind, friendly and fun environment for all ages. Both Dr's are very knowledgeable and staff as well. This is our 2nd set of braces and would not ever go anywhere else. I would definitely recommend Ferris Orthodontics to all!!!

Dr Ferris and the entire team are amazing! After 16 months in braces, my teeth look fabulous and my bite is perfectly aligned!! Dr Ferris and his team always took the time to answer my many questions and make sure I was comfortable with the treatment plan and received exactly what I needed and wanted. Appointments were efficient and the entire team was always friendly and professional.
