Dr. Ferris was born in San Antonio and raised in Brady, Texas. After earning his bachelors degree at Texas A&M University, he gained early acceptance into the number one ranked dental school in the country at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio where he earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. There he received numerous awards and was valedictorian of his class. He then received his orthodontic specialty training at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas where he was awarded the Outstanding Achievement Award for Excellence in Orthodontics. In May 2003, Dr. Ferris was awarded the Earl Shepard Award of Distinction for achieving the highest score in the nation on the American Board of Orthodontics Phase II Examination, which tests ones knowledge of diagnosis and treatment of various orthodontic problems. He has lectured at the Gorman Institute annual meeting.
Dr. Ferris has been in practice since 2001. Dr. Ferris and his wife, Sharlynn, reside in Boerne with their daughters Madison and Emmy. His interests outside of orthodontics include time with family, participating in stock shows and rodeos with his daughters, ranching and church activities.
Dr. Megan Hembree, a native of the West Texas town of Muleshoe and began her career in orthodontics working as a chairside assistant throughout college for Dr. Christopher Anderson in Lubbock. Dr. Hembree graduated first in her class at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Dental School, before completing her Orthodontic residency at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas. She has been in private practice in San Antonio since September 2007.
Dr. Hembree also served on numerous committees and served as a class officer throughout dental school. During her orthodontic training she received her Masters degree conducting research with temporary anchorage devices used in orthodontics which was published in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics in March 2009.
She met and married her husband, Ben Hembree, a San Antonio native, as a volunteer leader for Young Life while she was in dental school. Together they enjoy spending time with their three children Chance, Hallie and Clayton. Outside the office, Dr. Hembree enjoys activities at her church as well as snow skiing, time at Lake LBJ, working out and keeping up with her three children.
Dr. Ferris has been in practice since 2001. Dr. Ferris and his wife, Sharlynn, reside in Boerne with their daughters Madison and Emmy. His interests outside of orthodontics include time with family, church activities, exercising and being outdoors.

Great location and great reputation! Very friendly and easy to make appointments for new patients! The intake paperwork was easy to submit and the staff is very personable and caring. Dr Ferris has a great personality and truly cares about the long term care and wellbeing of the patient. I appreciate that!

Dr. Ferris is amazing. He is precise and thorough with his treatment. I knew every step what he was trying to accomplish and he listens to patient feedback/concerns. My case required surgery yet he accomplished the results I wanted without surgery. His technicians are knowledgeable and gentle. If you require orthodontic work, Dr. Ferris and his staff are who you want!

I love this place ! in fact, all 3 of my kiddos have have been taken care of here, as well as this 50 year old Dad :) Today, my permanent upper retainer came loose. I left a message over the weekend and at 0830, Heather aka H2 called me and she was amazing. She could sense the urgency in my voice, and within 3 minutes, she scrambled to get me in to see Dr. Hembree at the Spring Branch location. I am a very busy Medical Device Rep, and Heather save the Day. It is ALWAYS refreshing to speak with people that love their Jobs. Thank you H2, you did great.
