I would like to welcome you to this dental journey of mine that began at the age of ten. Ten may seem a little young to know what you wanted to be when you grow up, but that is when it began for me. I spent the younger part of my life dreaming what could be and the rest my life trying to become the best dentist possible. Both at my skills as a dentist and the relationships with my team and my patients.

My goal as a dentist is to provide uncompromising care to all of my patients. I strive for dental excellence through first class care and hospitality. As a team we pride ourselves in changing our patients lives for the better, one patient at a time. I believing in educating my patients in current research and technologies. Dr. Ferrera graduated from The University of South Florida in 1980 and entered The Ohio State University College of Dentistry. He graduated at the top of his class in 1985 and took an associate position with Dr. Richard Valdes, The Gator, in Northeast Tampa.

In his practice today, Dr. Ferrera uses the most advanced computerized technology in the world called Cerec Technology. Cerec allows a patient to have a porcelain restoration the same day with precise fit and life longevity without an impression and wearing a temporary restoration.

As a result of his continued training and tens of thousands of hours in post graduate continuing education, Dr. Ferrera works extensively with patients that require full mouth rehabilitation cosmetic makeovers.

Utilizing various modalities, such as implants, computerized guided analyses and digital cosmetic imaging, Dr. Ferrera is well equipped to restore from the simplest to the most complex dental challenges. Dr. Ferrera also has many years of training in implant surgery and implant restorations.

Dr. Ferrera is an active member of the Rotary Club of New Tampa which sponsors many fund raising events from golf tournaments to a community Pig Fest to raise money for local charities. He is also a member of the Krewe of Sant Yago & the Sant Yago Education Foundation. The Krewe of Sant Yago is an organization in Tampa that dedicates itself to the perpetuation and enhancement of Tampas proud Latin heritage and culture. The Krewe of the Knights of Sant Yago organizes and manages the Knights Parade that attracts thousands of spectators of every age to Ybor City. The Krewe Foundation raises money for scholarships to the University of South Tampa and Tampa University. Currently there are 22 students receiving these awards.

Dr. Ferrera is the son of Robert and Rita Ferrera, both of whom were blue collar workers that instilled his strong work ethic and a love of sports and cooking. Dr. Ferreras beautiful wife, Cheri, can be found managing the accounting department of his office. He has two daughters, Morgan and Emily.

Lisa possesses over twenty-five years of experience in the dental field, twenty of which were on the clinical side as a dental assistant. She has many duties but is primarily responsible for scheduling and outlining treatment plans, discussing payment options, as well as following up with the care of our patients.

She graduated from Pasco Hernando State College in 1998 after spending many years working as an Orthodontic assistant and managing the front desk for a local dental office. This is where she found her passion for hygiene and has spent the last 21 years providing care to each person she meets.

She dedicates time each year to volunteer for many organizations to give back to the community and we are lucky to have her on our team! She enjoys the outdoors, staying active, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Tusdai, a native of Georgia, moved to Florida in 2013 after receiving her dental assisting certificate from West Georgia Tech. She has always been passionate about the dental field and truly loves what she does.

For added safety, we closely follows the infection control procedures recommended by the American Dental Association and the Centers for Disease Control. Our staff have been carefully trained in the appropriate use of sterile techniques and cleaning and disinfection of equipment that is not disposable. For your protection, we use as many disposable items as possible.

All of our materials suppliers have been carefully evaluated and selected. This includes those who furnish us with materials we use in the office as well as the dental lab that creates your custom replacement teeth. We are so sure of our work that we do guarantee it!

It then goes through a UV light and clean air is expelled out the back side of the unit.

Because we are generating aerosols when performing dentistry on a patient, and because Covid is so small, you need special HEPA filters to be able to suction up the virus and keep not only the surrounding patients healthy, but your staff as well.

Years ago I had HEPA filters and UV lights installed inside the air conditioning system. And now, not only do we have that, but we also have in each of the rooms medical grade HEPA filters that will catch anything that doesnt go through the big aerosol evacuator.

Some people bring their own music, and other people like the noise. I had one of the patients say that it was a soothing sound to him. Like white noise. I mean, everybodys different. To me, it sounds like a typical shop vac.

I know that in order for us to keep going and keep my patients, my staff and myself healthy, we have to go above and beyond. And well likely continue to use the Air Evacuation System during flu season every year, and as needed.
