Dr. Coats is a native and lifelong resident of Starkville, MS, andgraduated from DeltaState University in 2010 with a BS in biology.Dr. Coats attended dental school at the University of MississippiMedical Center, graduating in 2015. After obtaining his dentaldegree, Dr. Coats enhanced his education and scope of practice bycompleting an General Practice Residency program at theUniversity of Mississippi Medical Center. He returned to Starkvillein 2016 and entered private practice with Dr. Ferguson. Dr. Coats isa member of the American Dental Association, Mississippi DentalAssociation,Academy of General Dentistry, and Starkville FirstUnited Methodist Church. He takes great pride in providing theabsolute highest quality dental care to his patients, and has a specialinterest in endodontic and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Coats is supported by an outstanding staff who are equally committed to providing outstandingpatient care to all patients of the practice. They are active in avariety of continuing education courses to broaden and sharpen theirknowledge and skills.

Melanie is a Starkville native who worked at our office as a dental assistant for several years before rejoining our staff as a dental hygienist in 2011. Melanie graduated from Meridian Community College with a degree in Dental Hygiene, where she was awarded Most Outstanding Hygiene Student. Melanie has recently taken over the roll as our scheduling coordinator and office manager.Melanie and her husband Matt currently reside in Mathiston with their children, Holly Beth and Dillon. In her spare time, she enjoys crafting and spending time with friends and family.

Sherry joined our practice in July 2017. She is a native of Leland, MS, but has resided in West Point, MS with her husband Rob for the last 27 years. Sherry has 24 years of experience in the dental field and is one of the newest members of our team. Sherry and her husband Rob have two children, John Robert and Elaine. In her free time Sherry enjoys being active in her local church as well as enjoying a nice boat ride on the Tombigbee River with friends.

Tayler is a native to West Point and a 2010 graduate of West Point High School. She received her certification from Accelerated Dental Assisting Academy at Perkins in New Albany, MS. Tayler Joined our practice in September of 2019. Tayler enjoys staying busy and spending her free time with friends and family, especially her niece Parker Laine, going to the river, and working in the garden.

Amber is a nativeof Webster County, Mississippi and currently resides in Cumberland, MS with her husband Jordan and their two-year old daughter Waverly. Amber is a 2015 graduate of the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where she obtained a Bachelors Degree in Dental Hygiene. Amber practiced in North MS for four years before returning home to practice closer to her family. In her free timeshe enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Mitze is a native of Neshoba County, but has resided in Starkville for 35 years. She is a certified Dental Assistant with 42 years of experiencein Dentistry. Mitze is also certified in Oral Maxillofacial surgery and E4D Technology for in office single unit crowns. In her free time Mitze enjoys ceramics, glass and bottle art, gardening, sewing, but most of all spending time with her family and two grandchildren.

Raysha is native to Starkville and a 2006 graduate of Starkville High School. She is a 2010 graduate of Meridian Community College with a degree in Dental Hygiene. Raysha joined our practice in May 2013 as a part-time hygienist. In 2016 she furthered her career as one of our full time hygienists. Raysha enjoys spending her free time with her husband, Tyler, and their two children, Baker and Campbell.

Kayla is a native of Columbus, MS where she resides with her husband Cory and son Smith. Kayla is a 2012 graduate of Meridian Community College where she obtained an Associates Degree in Dental Assisting. In her free time Kayla enjoys spending time with her family and enjoying a good book.

Tasha is a native of Hiram, GA but currently resides in West Point with her husband Holden and 6 year old daughter, Madison. Tasha has worked as a Dental Assistant for 4 years prior to joining Ferguson and Coats in September of 2019. In her free time, Tasha enjoys singing at church, community theater and spending time with family and friends.

Audrey is a native of Sturgis, MS where she currently resides with her husband Jeremy and two boys, Hamilton and Hayden. Audrey graduated from Mississippi State University in 2007 and then furthered her education at Mississippi Delta Community College in Dental Hygiene. She recently joined our practice as a part-time Dental Hygienist. In her free time Audrey enjoys being active in her local church, Morgantown Baptist Church, and fishing with her boys.
