Since 1987 I have had the honor to practice orthodontics, which hasbeen a blessing. Its not only been fulfilling on a professional and intellectual level, but on a personal one as well. Ive gotten to know so many patients and their families over the years, and have gotten great satisfaction in helping create their smiles and improve their self-esteem and confidence.

I believe it is important to pay great attention to individual patient needs, quickly bonding with patients and taking the time to explain the orthodontic process in a way that is understandable. The final result is what were proud to call the Fehrman Smile.

I am a native of central Wisconsin, having spentmy childhood in nearby Clintonville. Since 1987, the Wausau area has been home to my wife Marcy and me, along with our two children and two golden retrievers, Steve and Jozy.

After high school, I attended UW-Eau Claire and received my bachelors degree in 1981. I continued my education at Marquette University School of Dentistry and received my Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1985. During dental school, I underwent orthodontic treatment, which created a desire to specialize in the field. Subsequently, I entered the orthodontic residency program at Marquette University and completed my certification and masters degree in the specialty of orthodontics in 1987.

I am a member of the county, state, and regional chapters of the American Dental Association and American Association of Orthodontics, and the Wisconsin Society of Orthodontists. I have served as president of the Marathon County Dental Society andon the ethics committee for the Wisconsin Dental Association. I am also an active member and orthodontic advisor for the Central Wisconsin Dental Forum (Seattle Study Club).

I feel so fortunate to have been able to enter this profession, and return home to join my father in practice. Our office feels like home - we are a family here, and treat every patient as such. We are proud to offer the very best treatment to every patient who walks through our doors. Each persons smile is unique only to them, and I love helping them create that aspect of themselves. Being able to smile with confidence and look in the mirror and love what you see is a wonderful gift that we all search for.It is such an honor to play a role in the creation of someones smile.

Having specialized in the field of orthodontics allows me to provide my patients with the very best treatment options for achieving their smile goals. Every patient is unique, every treatment is different, but the goal is always the same: to give each patient a beautiful smile they can be truly proud of. We are fortunate to have a state of the art office, with the most advanced technologies, so as to provide our patients with the best experience possible as they go through their smile journey.

I love having the opportunity to watch my patients grow and change as I help them find their smile. The greatest day is when the braces are removed its not only the patient that leaves with an enormous smile on their face, its our entire staffas well! You know that old saying that you never work a day in the life if you love what you do? It's true :)

I grew up in Rothschild, Wisconsin, where I experienced the great benefits of orthodontics at a very young age. I watched as my father, Dr. Dennis Fehrman, changed the lives of those in our community, and knew that waswhat I wanted to do, too. After high school (DC Everest, 2005),I attended Marquette University, recieving my Bachelors of Science with a major in Biomedical Sciene and a minor in Theology. Following this, I was granted admission to Marquette University's School of Dentistry for my Doctorate of Dental Surgery (2013) and continued on there for my orthodontic residency, ultimately receiving a Master's of Science andmy certification as an Orthodontic Specialist in 2015.

During my undergraduate and dental studies, I spent my free time caring for an incredible young man with Asperger's Syndrome. We learned a lot from each other, and I credit the years spent with him for my ability to better understand and interact with individuals with special needs. Once into my orthodontic residency, I worked nights and weekends as a general dentist. This experience, too, was invaluable, as it kept my eyes open not just to orthodontic treatment needs, but to general dental and general health needs of my patients.

The realm of dentistry and orthodontics is continuously advancing. As such, I have made it my goal to pursue continuing education opportunities whenever they arise. Shortly after joining Fehrman Orthodontics, I completed an extensive course in combined orthodontic/orthognathic surgical technique. On many weekends you will find me at my computer participating in virtual continuing education courses - I still love learning and always want to offer our patients the latest technology and treatment options. I am also an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Wisconsin Society of Orthodontists, Wisconsin Dental Association,American Dental Association, and am the Secretary and Guest Lecturer for the Marathon County Dental Society, all of which provide numerous educational opportunities.

My husbandJoshand I are very fortunate to have returned to the Wausau area, where we are happily settled in with our rescue dog Frank and our two miniaturedachshunds, Winston andLouise. Typically, my free time is spentplaying golf, walking, doing yoga, reading and hikingwith my husband and the dogs. Josh and I absolutely love to travel and spend time outdoors exploring new places! We have a map of the world onto which we pin all the places we have traveled - our hope is to one day fill it with pins!
