Orthodontics is a profession that allows me to change lives. A perfect smile is a powerful thing. I love creating healthy smiles that last a lifetime, but I also get to help our patients have a wonderful experience in our office, which is incredibly rewarding. Our patients often grow in self-esteem when they see their new smiles for the first time, and I am lucky to be part of their lives.
Although I started practicing professionally more than 20 years ago, I have never stopped learning about orthodontics. My field is constantly evolving, with new technology, and I strive to provide the most efficient and comfortable treatments possible for my patients.
I pride myself on learning the most applicable methods from the most reliable sources. As part of my continuing education, I attend local, state, and national continuing education meetings, and bring the best practices back to my office.
As an orthodontist, I get to create amazing smiles that help my patients gain confidence. I have been helping people in my community through orthodontics since 1991, and am honored to have met such wonderful friends. I enjoy getting to know my patients personally throughout their treatment and seeing their surprised and happy faces when their new smiles are revealed.
I know that my patients dont just want straight teeth;they also want a positive orthodontic experience. My staff and I treat every patient like part of our family, with respect and honesty. We welcome our patients warmly, and strive to make each visitor feel right at home. Our practice is geared toward children and families, and we love getting to know patients of all ages and having tons of fun!
I grew up on a farm near Mallard in Northwest Iowa, and have lived in the Illinois Quad Cities since starting my orthodontic practice in 1991. My lovely wife Shelli and I have two beloved Yorkshire Terriers named Zoey and Bailey. We love to travel, especially when visiting family and friends in various states and countries, to immerse ourselves in different cultures. I enjoy hiking and photography. Next time you are in the office, check out some of the photos I have taken.
As a proud member of our community, I love volunteering for local charities and organizations. I have been a member of the East Moline-Silvis Kiwanis since 1993 and am a two-time past president. I am also a recent Amador Medallion Award winner for community work through Kiwanis. In addition, I am an avid supporter of many childrens sports teams and donate annually to area school PTAs and PTOs.
In June of 2005, I started working for Fehr Orthodontics. I graduated from Scott Community College with highest honors in dental assisting, then became a national certified orthodontic assistant. It is incredible to see patients end result after completing their treatment, and seeing their self-confidence increase. I feel very fortunate that I took part in creating that perfect smile.
In 2007, I graduated from the SCC certified dental assisting program, after which I started working at Fehr Orthodontics! I have continued to learn and grow daily with all the continuing education classes that Dr. Fehr provides us and earned my national orthodontic assistant certificate. I love connecting on a personal level with each of our patients, whether it is about sports, school, or family, and enjoy watching shy patients come out of their shell as their new smile gives them more confidence. Every one of our patients is an interesting person, and learning about them makes each day different and exciting. I will never be too busy to stop and explain each procedure as treatment progresses so patients have a full understanding of their orthodontic care.
When I am not creating beautiful smiles, I am a busy wife and mother to our daughter Blair. She definitely keeps us on our toes! We love spending time with family and friends, and going to sporting events!
Hi, my name is Johnna; I am proof that finding that one dream job is possible. I never would have thought that one day I would be working for the orthodontist that made my smile perfect many years ago. In 2015, I became a member of the office that is like family to me. I am the first person thatyou will see when you walk into the office that we like to call our second home, and we hope anyone who enters will feel the same way. I enjoy getting to know all the patients and their families, and I am always ready to stop what I am doing to help you with anything I can. Your smile is my motivation!
