Dr. Sanavi is the wise and calming voice of the office. He received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) and Certificate in Periodontics from the University of Pennsylvania. He continued his post-doctoral training as a Research Fellow at the University of Rochester and completed his PhD thesis at University of Pennsylvania, Department of Pathology studying immunopathology and mechanisms of bone destruction in the presence of infection.
He has remained committed to teaching since 1979, and is currently a Clinical Professor teaching post-doctoral students at Temple University. As evidenced by the distinguished George Costlet Award and Chase Award from the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Sanavi is greatly respected by his students and colleagues. He is the author of highly regarded articles, abstracts, and book chapters. He has lectured nationally and internationally on topics related to Clinical Periodontology. He continues his clinical research and encourages his students to do the same. Dr. Sanavi belongs to several dental associations including the American Association of Dental Research, American Academy of Periodontology, and Academy of Osseointegration.
