Dr. Fariborz Matian completed his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree at University of Southern California School of Dentistry (USC). He has received his post-graduate training in Periodontics and Implant Surgery from University of Southern California. Dr. Fariborz Matian has served as a faculty member in the section of graduate Periodontics at USC. He was involved with training residents and students in the area of Periodontal surgery and Implants. He has published on aspects of Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR) and Periodontal Surgery. Dr. Fariborz Matian is serving as an expert consultant for several insurance companies to resolved grievances that relates to periodontal and implant services. Dr. Fariborz Matian has lectured in the area of Periodontal Surgery and Implant Dentistry where he specializes in reconstructive implant therapy with an emphasis in esthetic and tissue engineering. He runs numerous local study clubs with an emphasis on teaching implant prosthetics. He also maintains a private practice in Periodontics and implant Dentistry in Woodland Hills and Torrance.
Dr. Fariborz Matian is actively involved in numerous professional organization including the Academy of Osteointegration (AO), American Academy of Periodontology (AAP), American Dental Association (ADA), California Society of Periodontics (CSP), California Dental Association (CDA), San Fernando Dental Society (SFDS) and he is the president and the director of West Valley Surgical and Prosthetic Implant Study Club..
Dr. Aida Yashar-Matian graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Dentistry, where she was honored with several awards for academic excellence and received her Masters of Science (M.S.) degree in Oral Biology simultaneously with her Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.). Following her dental training, she completed a three year post-graduate residency program in Periodontics and Implant Surgery at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where she got extra training and License to deliver intravenous (IV) sedation for patient comfort and relaxation. She received several awards for her academic excellence and her research involving The Osteogenic effect of Vasopressin on bone regeneration and stem cells. Dr. Yashar served as a faculty member in the section of Periodontics at UCLA and was involved with training students and dentists in treatment planning and diagnosis of periodontal disease and gum surgery. She also maintains a private practice in Periodontics and implant Dentistry in Woodland Hills and Torrance.

Dr. Matian is fabulous. A brilliant doctor who is unsurpassed at dental implants. His staff is caring and courteous, the office is relaxing and comfortable. I've been a patient for 7 years and have only positive experiences. Highly recommend.

Dr Matian, among the too numerous medical/dental professionals I have seen, is one of the most courteous and kindest I've met. I've been seeing him for nearly 3 years for periodontal work (RA-related) and he is unfailingly polite, professional, and just plain nice. Most dentists I've seen are nice, but Dr Matian is more so. He is also highly knowledgeable about RA-related dental concerns, while most dentists aren't, and he has provided solutions that have tremendously helped me. He remembers my concerns from previous visits, and I never need to repeat myself. Dr Matian has also provided sound advice when my general dentists suggest a new procedure. He is that kind of professional that truly cares about his patients and he focuses on their needs, rather than a new procedure that will pay for his family's winter ski vacation.

Dr. Matian is always kind and caring and completely competent in his profession. I've spent a lot of time in his dental chair for various procedures from dental implant removal, a new implant and gum grafting surgeries, and I always feel like he cares about me and my smile. I would recommend this office to anyone.

Doctor Matian was a complete jerk. He treated me like dirt! He was very rude and belittling. I would not recommend this dentist to anyone. I will never come back here again.
