Dr. Michael FanningA third-generation dental professional, Dr. Michael Fanning is proud to carry on the legacy that both his grandfather and his father, James W. Fanning created right here in Albuquerque. He enjoys being able to carry on a legacy and serve the children and grandchildren of patients that his father helped, starting in 1972. Dr. Fanning completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Notre Dame and graduate education at the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Dentistry. After that, he capped his tour of the Midwest with a residency and a specialist certification in orthodontics from the Indiana University School of Dentistry. Here he received extensive training that makes him well versed in a wide range of treatments. Born and raised in Albuquerque, he headed home to establish his practice in the Land of Enchantment alongside his wife Rachel, daughter Cora, and new baby boy, Cillian.
The staff at Fanning orthodontics is nothing short of amazing. The customer service is awesome. They have always made my daughter feel comfortable and welcome and made all her fears about her braces go away.
They make sure their patients are taken care of and will work around your schedule for those unexpected adjustments. Best of all, my biggest problem teeth were practically straightened out in only 2 months!
I gave up for a long time after 6 plus years of braces. Then I found some courage and some hope to get a smile I would be proud of. Dr Fanning gave me that smile. I got my braces off today and I cant stop smiling (there may also have even been some tears of joy) Thank you so much!!!

Dr Fanning and his team are excellent! The staff are kind, caring and knowledgeable. Highly recommend for adult orthodontic care.

I called at 4:30 on a Friday, but their voice mail picked up and said it was after hours, even though closing is listed as 5pm. Sure, it's understandable to leave early on a Friday, and they weren't the only orthodontists who left early before hours (and I left a low review when this was the case). However, Just change your Friday contact hours so I don't waste my time calling places. I'm going w/ another orthodontist who was also closed, but at least made it clear they were closed. As for how good Fanning are as orthodontists, I have no experience with them other than this first impression.

Our family highly recommends Dr. Fanning & his staff. They are all very friendly and knowledgeable. Every visit is great! My son was very nervous about getting braces, but Dr. Fanning & his staff always make his visits comfortable and enjoyable! The office is extremely clean and beautiful!

Dr Fanning and his staff are the best. I was very reluctant to get braces and orthodontics for the second time having had a terrible experience with an overconfident general dentist. Dr Fanning was amazing he was able to help me with a my unique problem. I was missing two of my front teeth and the the others had grown in with lots of space and they had been moved around some from the braces previously. I gave up for a long time after 6 plus years of braces. Then I found some courage and some hope to get a smile I would be proud of. Dr Fanning gave me that smile. I got my braces off today and I can't stop smiling (there may also have even been some tears of joy) Thank you so much!!!

We took our 8 year-old daughter to see Dr. Fanning for a second opinion after her general dentist recommended an orthodontic consultation for a missing adult tooth. While the orthodontist at the first place (a corporate-operated business) was knowledge and friendly, the personalized attention, detailed options, warmth, and genuine caring shown to us and our daughter by Dr. Fanning and his staff was unparalleled. We knew, without question, Dr. Fanning would be the one treating our daughter when the time comes for her to have orthodontic work. I know that Albuquerque has many orthodontist offices to choose from, but trust me when I say that Dr. Fanning is the orthodontist you want! He is very knowledgeable and he doesn't try to make you do things that won't help justvto make extra money. He, along with everyone on his staff, are so personable and are excellent with kids of all ages. My daughter just got her braces off today and I'll be returning to Dr. Fanning now with my son. I can't say enough good things!

The staff at Fanning orthodontics is nothing short of amazing. The customer service is awesome. They have always made my daughter feel comfortable and welcome and made all her fears about her braces go away. Dr. Mike is great with his patients and created a "game plan" with my daughters teeth to not only help get her amazing smile but to also help keep the cost down. He treats everyone within this office with such great respect, patients, parents and staff. I highly recommend Dr. Mike.

Braces are tough to put up with for 18+ months. In my opinion, you have got to love your orthodontist and staff to make the process less grueling. You will be seeing them a lot! So, liking the staff is super important! At Fanning Orthodontics, you can expect an uber friendly and caring staff who are led by a passionate and excited doctor (Michael Fanning) ready to straighten you out! I have found this staff to be fun, hospitable and knowledgeable about all my orthodontic care. l raise your level of expectations when cross shopping for other clinics. Thankfully, I took the advice of a friend and have enjoyed every visit. I would highly recommend Fanning Orthodontics to all my family, friends and to you as well! Dr. Fanning is the best around! He is such a warm, friendly, and genuinely caring person, that it takes the chore-factor out of going to the orthodontist. My kids love paying him a visit. I highly recommend!
