Dr. Andrew Lim attended the University of California at Los Angeles where he received his bachelors degree in Kinesiology. He then attended the UCLA School of Dentistry and received his DDS degree in 1995. After graduation, Dr. Lim provided care in a variety of different practices and has owned practices in Arcadia, California and Fontana, California. He is an avid learner and attends a variety of lectures and classes to stay up to date on the latest advances in techniques and materials.
'It is of utmost importance to me that my patients have a complete and thorough understanding of the condition of their teeth, and that they are comfortable with any treatment that is to be performed. I like to try to spend as much time as necessary to ensure that we are in agreement as to the goals that my patients with to reach. I feel that this level of understanding leads to a smooth progression through any care that they may receive.'
In his spare time, Dr. Lim tries to spend as much time as possible with his wife and two children, whether it be going to music recitals or gymnastics or club sports. Dr. Lim is also very active in his church and especially enjoys working with young people. If there is any time left, he enjoys cycling and woodworking.
I was born in the Philippines, youngest sibling of seven. I have four brothers and two sisters. I have two twin boys who are 19 years old. I graduated April of 1986 at the University of the East, Manila, Philippines with Degree of Doctor of Dental Medicine. Passed the Philippine Dental Board Exam October 1986. Became a Dental Board License in California in October 1989. Member of the Harbor Dental Society, CDA, ADA for 25 years. Practicing Dentistry for 27 years up to the present.
Dr. Surat Attaphitaya received both his bachelor's of Science and Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Southern II University in 1995. Upon graduating from dental school, Dr. A received the distinguished National Institute of Health Dentist Scientist Scholarship award. With this scholarship, he furthered his studies by attending the University of Rochester and Eastman Dental Center in New York - earning both a Master's in Anatomy and specialty certificate in orthodontics and Dentofacial orthopedics in 2001. Dr. A also served on faculty as a clinical instructor of the Eastern Dental Center department of Orthodontics for 3 years and has been in private practice of orthodontics ever since.
Dr. A is dedicated to creating healthy and attractive smiles for his patients, using only the latest technology available. He earns his patient's trust, build on old fashioned commitment to practice with honesty, integrity and consistency and based on delivering superior smiles. It all starts with just a smile, and he strives to make smiles from the inside out.

Took me in on time and I needed x-rays the X-ray machine is so advanced you just stand there and it rotates around your head outstanding the doctor extracted a broken tooth and did it in record time they also x-rayed a pre-existing broken molar which had been overlooked by my previous dentist they offered to extract it no problem and Bill my insurance the whole procedure took less than 45 minutes unbelievable so happy I went to them I recommend this dentist to anybody who is looking for honesty a great staff and they are definitely conscious of your time!!!

My son has special needs. It has always been difficult to get him to cooperate with dentists and their staff. Family Dentristry staff has shown extreme patience with him beyond my expectations. My son has not had any issues ,since beginning dental care with this office.. I am very grateful for their work here.

Dr. Lim is just what I was looking for in a dentist. Patient, personable and thorough. I have been to 4 different dentists in the past year, and speaking as an RDA (no longer working in the field) with 10+ yrs experience, this is a place where a patient feels welcomed, not rushed, heard, not ignored and respected, not belittled. . The staff is sweet and professional and very helpful. Office is clean, and OSHA guidelines followed. Thank you for restoring my faith, honest, conservative dentists do exist!

Just bad. Very unprofessional I had a small cavity and they said it was so small it didn't need a filling the second time i went in with the same issue they said oh no it's not a cavity its a stain and now not long after it has a crack. The front staff had no problems only with the actual dentist.

From the moment I walked in To this office in need of a deep cleaning and a new partial all my options were explained in detail .the girls who work in the front and the back made me feel very comfortable they were kind and always took good care of me . Dr lim he is the best !! I truly recommend this office to anyone looking for a great dentist for all your dental needs!

At first I was scalable about the way they were but science I gotten to know them I really love to talk to them up front the Dr assistant is very helpful they let you know what's going on before hand I was scared when I saw the needle but the Dr was great with it you want even feel it he's good I can truly say i would refer someone to them.

Dr. Lim is such a great dentist, brought my 10 year old son here, and he loved his work and his personality. He is such a great dentist, very understanding and PATIENT. Will definitely refer friends and family here. The girls who work there are very sweet as well. Thank you Family Dentistry

I went there to do a root canal they did not finish it! They left my tooth exposed then my tooth started to decay till they extracted my tooth then they want to charge my 5k to give me a new tooth!

The dentist puts down what you need done and then you get sent to a lady kn the front desk and everything that you need can get covered by insurance and she suggests you need something that doesn't get covered and says you need that and she wont contact insurance very difficult lady shouldn't be that way if my insurance covers instead of getting a referal she said if you dont pay cash nothing will get done. She was supposed to call me to schedule but since I wasn't paying anything in cash I haven't gotten a call back.

Dr. Lim and his staff were extremely professional and courteous. I cracked a tooth on Christmas Eve and they were able to get me in as soon as possible for a root canal. it's not only were they able to save my tooth but I experienced literally no pain during the procedure or afterwards. I highly recommend this place!!!!

currently in the process of finding a new dentist office. used to love this place, but have been extremely disappointed the last few times i've visited. the staff is very lazy, unprofessional, and they don't seem to communicate whatsoever with each other. prices are very high, and if you refuse a treatment, they become very rude and attempt to manipulate you into getting it. also very unhelpful over the phone. i would not recommend this place to anybody.

My daughter has sever anxiety and she was attended with such care and kindness, she had a root canal done and both Dr. And assistant were so patient with her. They far exceeded my expectations. Immense gratitude and hope they stay in business for many years to come to bring all my family for dental work.

Went in with a broken tooth that needed a root canal. Was explained it was a 2 procedure thing first for root canal and second was for a crown. I specifically asked if everything was covered by my med-ical. Was told they needed to send in a referral to medi-cal. First off scheduling was "well are you coming in or not other wise if you don't show we will charge $65" when all I asked was who do I have to speak to about getting something for anxiety. Today I get my root canal which was fine but after I'm told I have to come up with $1000 or $1400 for the crown and I have a week to do it because medi-cal doesn't cover the crown. If I was told initially I would have just opted to have the tooth pulled. So much for trusting the dentist. And yes I made a scene because it is absolutely unacceptable to con someone into a expensive procedure without telling the complete cost in the beginning so someone on a limited budget can make the best decision. If I had $1400 laying around I wouldn't be on medi-cal...

I was thinking of visiting this dentist based on the recommendation of family who have gone before. Now reading through the reviews this place is so unprofessional to go and expose patients dental health to snark back at reviews made directly and revealing what work they've had done or what treatment they needed and/or refused. I will be discouraging family from going back. HIPAA still applies to dentists. The HIPAA Rule for Dentists consists of the Privacy Rule (2003), Security Rule (2005) and Breach Notification Rule (2009). Dentists and Dental Offices should also ensure they are familiar with any relevant changes to these Rules enacted in the HITECH Act (2009) and Final Omnibus Rule (2013). The key areas of the HIPAA Privacy Rule for dentists are: -The personal identifiers considered to be Protected Health Information. -The permissible uses and disclosures of Protected Health Information. -Safeguards to implement to protect the privacy of patient health information. -An explanation of the Minimum Information Necessary rule. -Restrictions on the use of Protected Health Information for marketing. -Patient access to medical information and notice of privacy practices.
