I have a truly paralyzing fear of the dentist. I've needed major work done for YEARS. I woke up in so much pain just barely touching my cheek on the outside of the jaw made me cry. It was time to go in. I called the location 5 mins from my house the one my boyfriend loves. In Wappingers. They could not see me. They told me told call the Poughkeepsie location whom told me to come in right away. They'd find a way to see me. I told them my fear of the dentist. DR.Kasparas (sorry if spelled wrong). Was so patient with me. He was so incredibly gentle and explained everything he was doing. He didn't lecture me about how bad my teeth are and make me feel worse. He showed the utmost respect empathy and compassion. Despite a location being 5 minutes from be I will drive the extra 25 minutes to go ba k to this location as long as he is dentist. I do not know the assistants name but she was wonderful as as well. And was such a calming voice of reassurance. Just her hand on my shoulder offering calming words snd empathy was such a calming effect. Am I still afraid of the dentist??? YES. BUT DOES Dr. KASPARAS make it easier? Very big YES!

Dr. Gatchalian has been my dentist for over 15 years. I had an implant order by him and two ceramic crown put in and he is an expert dentist. My implant was sensitive and Dr. G met with me adjusted the tooth and provided emotional support and explained the process moving forward. which was an oral adjustment period that takes time for gums to adapt to both implant and crown procedures.. Just like Dr. Gatchalian explained, my gums adjusted and my implants look and feel great!! Thank you Dr. G. Dr. Gatchalian went above and beyond my expectation. Excellent work ethic and bed side manner.

My dental hygienitst moved to Family Smiles who I trust but the Dentist was extremely rude. Never introduced himself to me never looked me in the eye let alone my mouth, Told me to buy a water pick for my self for Christmas not even examining me. I will never recommend this cattle call of a business to anyone. It was a horrible experience apart from Lorrain who really cares. Annette Ferdinandsen

My husband & I have been with Dr. Gatchalian just a few yrs. after he started as a Dentist. It's been at LEAST 28+ yrs. already. I will NEVER go to anyone else. He & his staff are the FRIENDLIEST, most professional people we have had the pleasure of doing business with. With this many yrs. now, I feel like ALL of them are our friends. I sincerely mean it. We make each other laugh & they feel like extended family. Dr. G. has never let me down as far as dentistry goes. A Hollywood Smile .

Dr.Omar and the whole team are amazing! This guy seriously knows what he is doing. I felt no pain the entire time on multiple visits for some usually painful work! If you need a dentist then go see Dr.Omar. Ivy League trained, super humble, and gives it to you straight. My teeth look awesome, thanks man!

Rude bad experience. My first time at family smiles I was rushing from work to get to my 3pm appointment. I received a very unfriendly call saying I was supposed to be there 30 min ago (2:30) I said I'n sorry I was not aware since my appt was at 3. After I got there they proceeded to tell me I was late at least 3 more times and asked if I told my husband to come early. When I got in to see the hygienist she was not friendly and oh you guessed it - mentioned me being late again and we probably would not even get to do anything. Then the receptionist who had been rude on the phone came in while I was in the chair saying me and my husband don't have insurance and proceeded to stand there while I called him as well as after I called acting like I was trying to scam them instead for offering to help figure it out. I decided to just leave and my husband happened to be in the parking lot with his job's Human Resources on the phone who offered to tell the women we have insurance. After she confirmed we most definitely have insurance we got no apology. I told my husband I'm leaving anyway they were not being nice, he decided to go back in and tell them he didn't appreciate how they treated me ( that's my man :)! ) and they lost our business. Office manger Jennifer called me ( thank you Jennifer I do appreciate it) in order to apologize or rectify the situation- but I highly doubt she'll be able to give the women in the office a personality makeover. It's just not a nice place, go somewhere else- my Dad is dying of cancer I'm sorry I didn't remember to be 30 minutes early for my dentist appointment. Be kind people.

I went to family smiles today and I have to tell you I never had such a great experience in a dentist office. my wisdom tooth was killing m and I had such bad headache. Dr Omar Nijem assistant Rama was so friendly and helpful. she spoke to me so sweet that she took some of the pressure of being dental office. when Dr Nijem came in he also was friendly and he keeping telling me he was going to make it as painless as possible don't worry, I will make sure you have good experiences. It was true he kept his words I didn't even know when he took the tooth out, that's how painless it was. it was so painless and quick. I love it I am already feeling better and when I took tooth out before it usually take me days for me to recover. thank you family smiles the whole experience was wonderful even the person who took the appointment was wonderful. thank you again Family Smiles I am going to tell everyone I know.

Not wroth going want to charged me 100.00 for nothing.. told me I had gum disease and took x-rays and make another appointment ...i have very good insurance... went to Town Center Dental and had all my work done for only 76.00 out of pocket.. that is a bridge on my bottom.. I am fighting for this bill.. not friendly at all.... my new Dentist is the best I love him and his staff... Best dentist in Dutchess...

From soup to nuts! The entire staff is always pleasant and thorough. Dr. Omar Najim restored my faith in dentistry. I see all my other doctors like clockwork. But years ago I had a not so pleasant traumatic experience at another dental practice. I allowed that to make me shy away from any dentist until I was referred to Family Smiles in Poughkeepsie. I've kept several appointments here and was never disappointed. Thank you all. Especially Dr. Omar for improving my oral health.

Smooth experience. It's always nice going there, pleasant atmosphere. You don't feel hassled or rushed and they have very fair prices. Any work surrounding implants is done by other locations.

What an incredible experience all the time.Everyone is super friendly and very easy going with a great sense of humor. They make you feel at ease with how personable they are. Additionally, my appointments have always been on time and it's a short and easy in-and-out process. Definitely recommend
