BusinessManager: Kendra started her career in dentistry in 1999. She joined Family Smile Dentistry in April 2003. Kendra has the ability to care for our patients needs in all facets of clinical and financial management. She has great knowledge of insurance companies and financial assistance plans. She works side by side with the doctors to maintain communication insuring that your treatment plan is desirable to your optimum health and dental needs. Outside the office: Kendraand her husband Rossare currently busy raisingtheir 11year old son Hunter and 9 year oldson Colt. She is a native of Marion, Massachusetts and moved to Florida in 1992. She enjoys family time at the park, watching the boys catch fish, play baseball,football, and soccer. On her spare time, she enjoys giving back to our community through outreach projects her family has started.
Certified Dental Assistant / Dental Technician: Faith is an experienced dental assistant that enjoys bringing quaility care to our dental patients. Her bubble personality is sure to place a smile on your face. She finds comfort in helping adults and children get the smile they deserve.
Certified Dental Assistant: Brenda, a native of Kenya,became a member of our team in 2020. Brenda brings motivation to learn new things and eagerness to strive with our new technology. She is a recent dental assistant graduate and excelling in our practice. She enjoys learning the art of dentistry and helping our patients optimize their smile.
Registared DentalHygienist:Michellebecame a member ofFamily Smile Dentistry in February of 2017.She became adental Hygienist in 2016.She strives inmaintaining each individuals periodontalhealthas well as treating each patients individualneeds with compassion.She attends continuing education classes to keep up on all the knowledge that is continually changing. Her passion for helping children and adults radiates as she speaks with you.

To protect our patients and ourselves, we strictly maintain sterilization and cross contamination processes using standards recommended by the American Dental Association (ADA), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the Center for Disease Control (CDC).

Dr. Farhad Foroughi attended the University of South Florida for undergraduate studies, graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree. His post graduate studies landed him at Boston University College of Dentistry where he earned his D.M.D. degree in 1997.Dr. Foroughi practiced in Miami until 1998 when he then moved to the Sarasota/Bradenton area where he continued his profession
Dr. Dora Jarquin grew up in Nicaragua and moved to Miami during her childhood. She graduated from Dade Community College and entered into Boston University, where she received her D.M.D. in 1997 joining her father and brother as a dentist. She returned to Miami where she practiced for two years prior to moving to Bradenton in 1999

I visited the office for an opinion on a broken tooth and ended up with a crone on the tooth after a little more than 2 hours. A great team, led by Dr Jarquin, made it a painless, positive experience. All of this service was provided by an enthusiastic group of people, which made you feel comfortable... at a very reasonable price. Thank you

2/6/22 still feel the same a great dentist and team are hard to find 2/25/20 I have been going to Family Smile for about 12 years now and they are very knowledgeable professionals for both dental hygiene and dentistry. They spend the money to have the newest technology and have grown to a first class service. The prices are reasonable and they are associated with the best oral surgeon and orthodontist around. My previous experiences over 8 yeas with dentist in Sarasota and Bradenton was not good and this is why I like these people so much. Just needed a detail bill for Insurance flex plan and they quickly e-mailed a copy . - The hygienists stations and additional talented hygienist is impressive. Also help them keep appointment times better. And three dentist eliminated any wait time for the Dentist to review and examine. They are tech smart for texted or emailed appointment reminders . Just all around top group of very professional which is so hard to find down here. They have a very good connection to reasonably priced and top notched Endodontics close by.

I LOVE this place. I've been going here for several years now. I just had to have a root canal done out of state because I'm currently on an assignment in MT. It was so bad that i had to come leave a review for this facility because i realized how amazing this facility is. They never over numb you, it's just the right amount of local anesthetic. They don't do unnecessary work, and their prices are respectful. I can't wait to come home so i can get better dental care again.

I would like to say everyone at Family Smile Dentistry was wonderful. I had never been there and they were so accommodating in taking me in for an emergency. Dr Foroughi was so gentle and kind. I definitely would recommend him for anyone who doesn't like going to the dentist. He was very nice and put me at ease. His office staff also was the nicest I have come across in a long time. Highly recommended.

I've been a patient here for many years. Dr Jarquin and Dr Foroughi have developed a practice with other professionals and technology that makes patients feel comfortable from the moment one walks in the door. I cannot recommend Family Smile Dentistry highly enough!

I have been a patient here since I moved to LWR 14 years ago. I love the husband/wife team and all of their staff. They're honest. Never out to sell ANYTHING. Now that my daughters are teens they have switched to this office and love it too.

I had high hopes as usual. When I first called to make the appointment I explained I needed extra patients and times of a break. I was told by Renee that mental illness patients and dentist patients don't belong in the same location. I should've known right there. But, I've come to learn that Florida has issues with actually caring for the entire person. I went in as an emergency visit. Got a treatment done I didn't want. A week later I was in so much pain. I was taking some pain medication at the time. Now I don't take anything because I hate it and this office uses it against people. I ended up needing a root canal and luckily got one the same day. Though over thanksgiving the other tooth was having the same pain. But, I was told it was fine, though it was a week later and I was on vacation in the middle of nowhere. I had severely injured my hand and there wasn't a hospital near anywhere. I received a call from this office during all this and answered, thinking it was a medical facility nearby. But, it was this office asking if I wanted a cleaning knowing I'd just had and being in shock from literally having so much blood, more than I've ever seen in person be pouring out of me and having tooth pain- I wasn't nice and hung up. Once that was fixed I called back and apologized. Said how wonderful my treatment has been, because it has, though not what I thought would happen, nothing is. I explained what happened and I was just answering the phone. I was so freaked out and in shock I did that in real life. I ended up getting a " don't come back here" letter. But, they didn't refund me for my X-rays that a previous dentist had sent them. Plus, I wanted to know why I was told to leave. According to them I called to ask for a cleaning, though I'd had one the month before elsewhere- I wanted a location that was understanding and compassionate. But, all I got from Kendra was her telling me how things went her way. That my insurance was wrong. I did try to tell her it was either her or Renee who made the mental health comment to be before I got there and all she heard was herself in that phrase. I've talked to so many people at that office. She and Renee sound the same and I wasn't saying it to be mean. She did hang up on me. The point is that's what employees at her office is saying to people like me. Which isn't okay. Apparently people can't make mistakes and call back and apologize when the accidentally put a knife through their hand. Below is the photo of the call log of the day the called me twice right after I called "911." And later you can see I called them back to apologize. I'm adding that because I don't appreciate being told I'm lying about what happened. They are so kind. Unless something happens to you or they need to be right. I admit I'm not the best patient right now. But, it also comes from a high lack of education of mental health in all forms of the medical field.

After reading a great review of Dr Jarquin at Family Smile Dentistry on the River Landing Neighborhood website and checking Google reviews I decided to try this dental office. Kendra was very efficient helping me with the paper work and making my appt. The office staff was very helpful. I found Dr Jarquin to be kind , caring and very knowledgeable. She takes her time and listen to you. Thanks to all the people that posted all the reviews I was able to find a great dental office.

My visit yesterday reminded me of how a professional office should be run. The hygienists are cheerful, knowledgeable and helpful. All services are explained before they are performed, including the costs involved. No surprises. This is a group of individuals who take their jobs seriously and have their patients' best interests at heart. Over the long term, it is the patients' personal responsibility to follow-up and maintain proper care daily at home. Thanks to Dr. Foroughi, Dr. Jarquin, Michelle and Melissa, as well as Kendra and all the office staff. You are all the best!

"Thank you" Family Smile Dentistry for a very pleasant dentist visit. I was in need of a crown and assumed that it would be a very lengthy process. I was in and out of the office within 3 hours. Dr. Jarquin is the best and my new crown feels amazing. Never had to come back for any adjustments. The office is super clean and the staff is wonderful. I would highly recommend Family Smile Dentistry.

Renee at the reception desk went above and beyond to squeeze me in for an emergency which I appreciated so much! Dr. Jarquin is my fav dentist I've ever had honestly. Took all necessary precautions regarding COVID 19, always expeditive and professional. I never felt they were trying to sell me a treatment or procedure. The place is super clean and the deco creates a comfy atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Update: I am happy to say that the Dr. was willing to make things right and is replacing the original crown that was too small. I will say in hind-sight I should have talked to the doctor instead of the receptionist who was delivering the information from the office manager. The office is state of the art and very nice to visit. I have had two crowns done there and two fillings. The doctors are both very nice. However, not happy with the work or the office staff. Crown#1- was made two small and left a large gap. Their solution, re- do the older crown that had no issues and make that one larger. Of course pay for that, even though the one they put in was two small. Crown #2- had the have it adjusted because it was aching terribly for a solid week after. It eased up, but there is still intermittent pain. 2 fillings were done on teeth that had NO pain prior. Now I get sharp intense pain with anything hot or cold. And when I floss the back one, I have to be very careful ,because if I put to much pressure against it a sharp pain occurs. The office staff could also improve their scheduling and customer service. Had a 3:45 appointment and they called the day before and said they changed their office hours and their last appointment was at 3:00 pm. My appt. Was scheduled months in advance and they had their hours changed for a few months the staff told me. Not even an apology for any possible inconvenience.
