Dr. Christopher West was born in Nassau, the Bahamas, and has been a resident of South Florida since 1979. He grew up in the area and attended Palm Beach Gardens High School, where he was proud to be part of the Palm Beach Gardens Gators football team.
After high school, Dr.West pursued his education at Florida State University, where he obtained his Bachelor of Science in biologicalscience. Upon graduation from FSU, Dr. West was a high-school science teacher at Palm Beach Lakes High School, where he also coached the soccer, swimming, and volleyball teams.
While teaching at Palm Beach Lakes High School, Dr. West returned to graduate school at Florida Atlantic University and obtained his Florida teaching certificate. Never having lost sight of his dream to become an orthodontist, Dr. West left teaching to pursue a masters degree in environmental science. While applying to dental school, he was employed as the head biologist for EnviroGlades, Inc. where he worked to help protect and restore South Floridas coral reefs, wetlands, and estuaries.
In 2001, Dr. West finally left South Florida to attend dental school at Temple University in Philadelphia. He was president of his dental class and president of the Temple University Society for the Study of Orthodontics. He graduated with highest honors, summa cum laude, and was awarded a dual degree: Doctorate of Medical Dentistry and Masterof Business Administration. In addition to dental school, Dr. West also completed his orthodontic residency program at Temple University, during which he received another Master of Sciencefor his research involving Invisaligns attachment effectiveness.
Dr. ChristopherWest has exceptional credentials and is committed to excellence in the practice of orthodontics. He is board certified and a member of numerous organizations, including the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Southern Association of Orthodontists, the Florida Association of Orthodontists, and the Florida Dental Association.
Dr.ChristopherWest not only works in Jupiter, he and his wife Shelley also reside here. They have recently started a family of their own. Daxton was born on November 13, 2013, and Porter was born on May 21, 2015, both at Jupiter Medical Center, and are proud to call themselves Jupiter natives!
When Dr. West is not in the office, he enjoys all things water-related: surfing, fishing, boating, and scuba diving. In addition, he loves to travel for snowboarding and of course spendtime with his family and two dogs.
