Family Health Services, a Community Health Center, makes high quality, culturally sensitive, primary medical and dental care, behavioral health and social services affordable and accessible for all the people of South Central Idaho.
A federally qualified health center (FQHC) is a type of provider defined by the Medicare and Medicaid statutes. FQHCs include all organizations receiving grants under Section 330 of the Public Health Service Act, certain tribal organizations, and FQHC Look-Alikes. FQHCs must provide primary care services for all age groups. FQHCs must provide preventive health services on site or by arrangement with another provider. Other requirements that must be provided directly by an FQHC or by arrangement with another provider include: dental services, mental health and substance abuse services, transportation services necessary for adequate patient care, hospital and specialty care.
A sliding fee scale with discounts services based on patient family size and annual income in accordance with federal poverty guidelines. FQHCs must be open to all, regardless of their ability to pay.
The VFC program is a federally funded program that provides vaccines at no cost to children who might not otherwise be vaccinated because of inability to pay. VFC was created by the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1993 as a new entitlement program to be a required part of each states Medicaid plan. The program was officially implemented in October 1994.
Funding for the VFC program is approved by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and allocated through the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). CDC buys vaccines at a discount and distributes them to grantees i.e., state health departments and certain local and territorial public health agencies which in turn distribute them at no charge to those private physicians offices and public health clinics registered as VFC providers.

so long story short, i set an appointment 3 TIMES and they changed it because the doctor that was going to fix my teeth was not there. but really? 3 times... i don't recommend paying for this place and that's not the only thing. i actually went to my appointment one time and i had a filling and they did a cleaning! MY TEETH ARE THIN, I HAD A CLEANING 2 TIMES A MONTH. also they thought that i was young and stupid that's why they did a cleaning although they had to do a filling. if your going to stay in this place expect these things to happen.

Complete and total lack of care and empathy. Chipped a tooth over the holidays, which exposed a nerve. They got me in for my exam and told me they'd make me comfortable. 20 mins later they come and tell me that I have to wait TWO WEEKS for the extraction and refused to give me so much as ibuprofen. It's pretty pathetic that those on limited incomes cannot receive the same quality care that people with money in the bank do. Sickening.

Imagine scheduling a appointment just so they can confirm it multiple times and then at the last minute reschedule it because It wasn't done correctly. Another week of waiting since it's been months since my last visit. Total incompetence. From the front desk so unprofessional.

I have had the run around with them with my infected tooth, and it's like pulling hair trying to get them to listen. Don't feel very safe in their hands especially pregnant. Won't be going back once my referal is sent.

Warning to everyone who thinks of going here the denist's are rude and childish. They refused to pull a tooth and admitted that my tooth was infected but argued that I could not handle the pain. This place is a waste of time. Someone needs to sue this place!!!!

They are always so helpful and can get people in anytime especially if you have a dental emergency! The best part is they work on a sliding scale depending on your pay and they allow you to make payments!
