Family Health Centers is located in North Central Washingtons Okanogan County. Located halfway between the metropolitan areas of Seattle and Spokane, Okanogan County encompasses nearly 5,300 square miles of pristine, natural beauty. Larger than several states, Okanogan County is bordered on the north by Canada, on the south and east by the Columbia River Basin and the west by the North Cascade Mountains.
Family Health Centers was incorporated in 1985 and is now the primary healthcare system devoted to Okanogan County. The clinic grew from its humble beginnings treating farm workers in the orchards with one doctor and support staff, to six medical sites in Omak, Brewster, Bridgeport, Tonasket and Twisp and four dental sites in Okanogan, Brewster, Bridgeport and Oroville that together serve the entire county. Today, FHC is a comprehensive health care system offering primary medical and dental care, orthodontic care, pharmacy, WIC, and integrated behavioral health and other services to 40% of the countys population. Responding to patient interests, FHC has added Naturopath physicians, broadening our clinical expertise for Whole Person Care.
Family Health Centers is governed by a board of directors, 51% of whom are patients of the health centers. The Board represents our patient population in terms of age, sex, race/ethnicity and geographic location which offers a perspective on health care delivery unique to community and migrant health centers. The Board accepts overall responsibility for the corporation, oversees the quality of care and rights of the patients and maintains the financial integrity of the organization. This is probably the single best dental experience I've ever had. If you got an emergency they will generally get you in. If you call first they will call you when they get a cancelation or you can go sit at their office until they can squeeze you in. The appointment waiting list is long because there is a lot of need in the county and not enough dentists but I've had good luck when referred to Bridgeport dentist as well. Also a good experience. This is the spot I'd recommend going if your in need of dental services

Got a few stubborn teeth pulled out by Dr Motch and Angela. Quick, friendly and numbed me up so well I felt absolutely nothing. Thank you guys

When Dr Medrano took care of my teeth, which are very weak from radiation, it was pain free. He was extremely professional and kind. I hear he went back to school to specialize in pediatrics. The children who receive his dental care will be very fortunate.

Broke a tooth on a Sunday, called the next morning & was seen that afternoon. Had it fixed right away. Dr. Medrano and staff were great!

When Dr Medrano took care of my teeth, which are very weak from radiation, it was pain free. He was extremely professional and kind. I hear he went back to school to specialize in pediatrics. The children who receive his dental care will be very fortunate.

This dentist office in Okanogan is the worst. They refuse to see me because I missed one appointment a year and a half ago. Even now when it is an emergency, they still refuse to see me. Family health is the only dentist around that takes my insurance and now because of the nasty and rude receptionists ladies, (who in my mind need to be replaced!) I have to travel from Omak to Oroville to actually see a dentist. And they are going to see me first thing in the morning! Why??? Because they actually CARE! Now I have to waste my time and money to travel up to Oroville just to get a tooth pulled. Okanogan family health needs to replace a few employees before I ever step foot in there again. On the bright side I absolutely recommend the family health dentist in Oroville. They are kind and they care!

I showed up today at 6:50 am because their website and front door said they open up at 7 am. I needed to get a tooth checked out and no one is here and they are not open. Not too impressed. I wish they would update their information on their from door and website because I had to take time off work just to be here. I will be looking for another dentist office but to my knowledge Family Health Center is the only one that takes my insurance.

My experience has been horrible, I went in November for an abcess tooth finally got to see the dentist again in February while being in pain this whole time, the dentist saw me for less than 30 minutes I was there for over 2 hours and while he was waiting for me to be numb he was was working on other people (which is fine) but I'm not paying for 2 hours of work when I was helped for 30 minutes. I have called the clinic trying to get in earlier etc, and I have a rude girl on the phone that says she will try and talk to the dr to get me some antibiotics never heard back so than the next day I called and her excuse was she was waiting for my response onto what pharmacy to send my prescriptions to, which I had already explained to her the day before where I'd like them to go.. I will never go here again, I ended up going to a dentist in town, talked to a professional and pleasant person who took me very seriously. Just because family health centers is the only place that takes my insurance it's safer and better for me to pay for another dentist out of pocket than rely on a clinic that doesn't take their patients seriously. Sorry for the long rant I felt like I needed to explain my story.

Dr. Hopkin is fantastic...especially with nervous and fussy kids. Great chairside manner. He is patient and polite at all times, particularly with explaining procedures beforehand and as he goes. My 16 year old had a root canal and the process was very smooth thanks to him!
