I've given a lot of thought to this review, and will try to write it as fairly and accurate as possible. First, I want to say, I write this with the intention that the business does well, and also that patients can have 100% satisfaction. So, I am extremely happy with my smile and the work Dr. Figueredo has done. Especially with the Six Month Smiles. Years prior, an orthodontist in NY quoted me around $5500 for traditional braces, and the duration would've taken I think 12-18 months. Six Month Smiles on the other hand, with retainer included, was $4300, and I just completed it in ~5 months. It's truly remarkable. It works by focusing mainly on the areas of most cosmetic concern, while not wasting time on too much irrelevant else. Much will depend on the individual. Luckily I think it is overseen by an orthodontist at Family Eco Dental. The other thing I was super relieved to find out was that Dr. Figueredo shared my philosophy on dental health in terms of saving as much natural tooth as possible. This is so crucial since you only have so much natural tooth, and once it's gone, you're not getting it back. (All dentists SHOULD follow this, but many might not.) I must admit, I was getting a little concerned initially when on my 1st visit 2 years ago she hit me with needing about 7 fillings. I was surprised to hear because my whole life prior I never had any cavities. And if you look online, you might be tempted (like myself) to believe this is a red flag. But here's the thing with that: 1) Every dentist is different. Some dentists are "watch it" types (meaning, you might have a cavity that technically doesn't need to be filled), and supposedly this is "dental school 101"; while other dentists prefer to be more "prevention" focused. Both overtreatment and undertreatment can come with risks, so much of it is a judgement call on what is the best move. So if 1 dentist says 0 fillings, and another dentist says 7, does that mean the 2nd one is a scammer? It's possible, but not necessarily. It just could mean different approach. Overtreatment might mean more dependency on future fillings; but undertreatment might mean lingering infections. So, much of it is kind of a gamble, and I imagine this is one reason why dentistry is so hard. 2) Assume you see the dentist 2x a year, and that each visit is 1 hr. There are 8760 hours in a year. That means, you see your dentist only 0.02% of the entire year. In other words, for 99.98% of the time, YOU are responsible for your own oral health. So when I reflect on the cavities I had, I do feel I could've done more. If I had to guess the culprit, I might not have cleaned my night guard well enough, so maybe more plaque built up on it than I realized, which could've made contact with my teeth 8 hrs a night. And I think the other culprit was my beloved popcorn, since those kernels love to nestle in the grooves of molars, and those broken kernels can lodge in the gums. So if I eat popcorn again, more care will be given in that regard. And sometimes, it's just bad luck. Now having said all that, there is definitely a sales hustling part. And I get it, but I do think perhaps there could be value in less hustle if it means patients are more comfortable, and thus more likely to show for routine visits, and give good word of mouth because of it. Just something to consider. Anyway, I think when I reflect on my 2 years thus far with Dr. Figueredo, it seems she has been fair in terms of the benefit she gave, and at a reasonable cost, while holding really good hours, though I hope for her sake she doesn't get burnt out. And it really did help to have a chat with her for some of the concerns I had. Because sometimes people might misunderstand each other's motives, and all that is needed for harmony is a quick conversation. Going forward, my hope is to improve at-home oral care so that I almost never need a dentist. But that a dentist exists to help guide me on my way. Best dental service I have experienced. All staff are friendly & professional. The dental staff explained everything I needed to know and answered all my questions. Plus, if I was tense or nervous about any procedure that was about to take place. The staff would be patient & give a massage with homeopathic oils to calm you down. I reccomend Family Eco Dental for anyone who has fears going to dentist.

I trust Mariam Figueredo DDS as my dentist. She is very thorough, and conscientious about her work, and explains everything in detail in advance. The staff is friendly, and professional.
