After earning my bachelors degree in biomedical and physical science from the University of Central Florida, I attended the Loma Linda School of Dentistry where I received my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. While pursuing my dental education, I was subjected to great learning opportunities and experienced faculty who molded me into the practitioner I am today. As I studied meticulously and treated patients in the restorative clinic, I could not help but to think about how comprehensive dentistry could improve their smile, their confidence, and their life. As a result, I was accepted into the Orthodontic and Endodontic Honors Program.
I grew up in a small business-oriented family in Colombia. Everything appeared to be steering me toward business, but I experienced greater fulfillment while engaging in health care related services through clinical and volunteer work. My aspiration, as a partner at Family Dentistry of Weston, is to combine my familys industrial techniques with my personal and professional passion to heal and beautify peoples smiles.
I strive to provide the highest level of comprehensive dentistry while educating patients about oral health. I incorporate orthodontics in my daily practice by treating minor crowding and mild cases of malocclusion with Invisalign. I perform root canals on a daily basis and provide patients with great cosmetic options to improve their smile.
My passion to provide optimal care and my hunger for knowledge in the field further confirm that I want to take my career to the next level. I want to be a leader in the community and, in doing so, I plan to focus primarily on three areas: contributing to the profession through meaningful research; striving for perfection clinically; and giving back to the community in abundance.
Coming from a country where many people face poverty, I was inspired to devote my time to those who are most in need. I engaged in various volunteer opportunities while in dental school, such as taking part in international mission trips to Nicaragua and Kenya. Some of my most gratifying experiences have consisted in performing routine dental therapies to members of marginalized populations. I currently volunteer at the Mission Dental Clinic in Delray Beach.
Guillermo P. Rodriguez, DDS received his dental degree from University of Missouri Dental School. He attended Barry University in Miami where he attained his Bachelors degree in biology and chemistry. He is a third generation health care provider, his grandfather was a dentist and his father a local physician. He has been practicing in the Miramar, Pembroke Pines, and Weston area for over 35 years. Dr. Rodriguez was awarded the University of Missouri Dental School Alumni of the Year-2015. Apart from private practice, Dr. Rodriguez is also a consultant and examiner for the Florida Board of Dentistry and serves on the Board of Trustees at the University of Missouri Dental School. I recently had 2 bad experiences with well-known dental practices in Broward and did not think I would find a dentist in South Florida who really CARED about the patient and their "journey"....UNTIL... I had an emergency and my son had me try his dentist at FAMILY DENTISTRY. I was greeted with such warmth from all the staff, from the scheduler, Manny, who got me in the next day, to the dental tech, who made sure xrays were taken and did not hurt, to "Miss Kelly", the dentist, and the great check out staff!. My emergency was handled with quick precision and the office was clean, organized, and busy! They took my Aetna Dental Access Plan and I walked away happy....not frustrated over poor dental care and high prices! Thank you everyone! You will see me again soon!.....I recommend WESTON FAMILY DENTISTRY to anyone who has lost faith in dentists!
