Dr. Mohamed Shariff graduated Cum Laude from Rutgers University in 2006. When he was not studying for his pre-dental classes, Dr. Shariff was busy volunteering at various healthcare facilities including Cooper Hospital, Virtua Hospital, and interning at private dental offices in the area. Working with physicians and dentists who were treating patients with a wide variety of medical and dental complications helped Dr. Shariff apply what he was learning to real world situations and this further inspired him to pursue a career in dentistry.
Dr. Shariff received his dental degree from Rutgers School of Dental Medicine in 2011, and completed his general dentistry residency at St. Josephs Regional Medical Center in 2012. During his residency, Dr. Shariff worked in collaboration with oral maxillofacial surgeons in treating dental and facial trauma. He also received extensive training in endodontitcs, prosthodontics, and cosmetic dental procedures. Dr. Shariff believes that patient comfort and understanding is the key to successful treatment and oral health.
Dr. Shariff and his wife, Dr. Sadia Sheikh along with their newborn son, Hassan Sheikh Shariff, currently reside in Toms River. During their time off, they love to explore the local area including running in Island Heights and going to the boardwalk in Seaside. We at Family Dentistry of Toms River are happy to welcome Dr. Shariff and Dr. Sheikh into our community, and are looking forward to see our family grow.
JoAnn is our friendly front desk receptionist and she ensures that all of your scheduling and financial concerns are addressed. She is also available to discuss your dental insurance coverage as well as review other payment options including care-credit.

First visit here today & I was very happy w/ our experience. Professional, knowledgeable & welcoming staff. Tracey was amazing w/ my son. He said he would like to just go there & hang out sometime, which says alot. I have never posted a google review before but really wanted to let people know I highly recommend Family Dentistry of Tom's River.

I have never had an experience at a doctors office before like I had for myself and my family like at Dr. Shariff's office. I have the greatest dentist. On Sunday I had severe pain from my wisdom tooth. I couldn't sleep I to let my wife know at about 3 in the morning she told me to call his office, so I called Dr. Shariff's office and left a message. Unbeknownst to me he had just come back from vacationing in Florida the day before . He called me back at around 7 AM I told him I was in severe pain and I hadn't slept since Saturday. He said he would come right away, but I know he has a child so I told him to come as soon as he could and I told him after 11AM was fine. He met me at his office with his wife and I thanked him a million times for coming on his day off and her for coming too. I failed to mention Monday the office is closed. He told me no problem he would not been able to relax at home if he knew I was walking around in pain! That was awesome to hear..not too many Doctors care enough for their patients to come in on their day off! I got a double bonus by his wife being there. She was very nice and very reassuring. She really made me feel relaxed. He did a 3D image of my mouth and found I had an infection and had jammed my tooth into my bone! He then proceeded to take care of my tooth problem and gave me directions for after care and I went home . If you are looking for a great caring dentist and an awesome staff Family Dentistry of Toms River is the place to go!

What a awesome group of people! Everything from start to finish including making my appointment was truly awesome! Dr. Shariff was so kind and gentle with my 5 year old son. Keep up the great work guys! This office and everyone that works there deserve all the success in the world! Thank you for making us feel welcomed and at ease.

What a fabulous practice! New to the area and had yet to establish a relationship with a local dentist. Broke a back tooth last evening and began a google search this morning for an emergency dentist. Family Dentistry of Toms River was the first result that popped up. A quick glance showed positive reviews so I made the call. I'm so glad that I did! They got me in within the hour and took all precautions with temperature check and social distancing protocols. I have extreme anxiety about going to the dentist but Jess, the assistant, was very kind and understanding of my personal needs. Dr Shariff was very easy to talk to and he took the time to listen to my concerns. I appreciate his patience and caring efforts as I'm a very nervous patient. The broken molar was 90% filling and was damaged on the back and side...I needed a crown. To my surprise I was told I would be walking out with a permanent crown in a couple of hours. Wait....what?!? No temporary, no two week wait...sign me up! I am very happy to have found Family Dentistry of Toms River, Dr Shariff, and his staff! I will recommend them to everyone I know! I couldn't ask for better service!

Five stars isn't enough for the incredible talent and care he has for people. Life saver! I don't have good insurance but, when you have a great doctor paying out of pocket is never a problem, and if that doesn't tell you how amazing he is, I don't know what will. He is trustworthy and honest. A veneer/crown master LOL! best of the best!

Introducing same day crowns! In most cases we can have the patients walk out with permanent restorations rather then having to wear temporary appliances. Especially in cases of trauma to the front teeth, it is a huge benefit to our patients!

This place was exceptional !!! From the receptionist , to the dental assistant, to the most amazing dentist , Dr. Sheikh. My 4 year old had a cavity on her front tooth that needed tending to. I was very worried taking her somewhere thinking she would flip out and would need to be given meds. But Dr sheikh was phenomenal. My daughter didn't even know she was getting her cavity filled . Dr Sheikh was so animated , she even named her dental tools! My daughter is already planning her next visit so "Dr Sheikh can fix my other cavity". I highly recommend this place.
