Dr. Kowal, DDS earned a B.S.in Biological Sciences at University of Maryland at College Park before he graduated from theUniversity of Maryland Dental School in 1983. The University of Maryland Dental School has the distinction of being the worlds first dental school and the leader in the field of periodontics.
Dr. Macllwaine, DDS was born and raised in Waynesboro, VA. He earned a B.A. in Biology from the University of Richmond before graduating the Medical College of Virginia (MCV) in 1983. MCV is one of the best known and most distinguished dental institutions in the Southeastern United States.

Staff was so kind and supportive. Never made me feel bad or ashamed. The dental hygienist and assistant provided so much support and reassurance as I am a terrified patient. They talked through each step and before they started each procedure! Everyone from the time I entered the building to the time I got to my car greeted me and was very polite. Scheduling was easy and front desk workers went above and beyond to be sure I had everything I needed. Thankful to find a dentist office that provides an optimistic outlook to dentistry, who are friendly and care about your health.

I have been to many dentists but this one was awesome experience. The receptionist was so nice leading me to the dental hygienist which I don't remember her name if it was Amna, she understood very well my concerns and she told me about her family members who had the same issue with his teeth like mine. She made me feel comfortable around her. The second dental hygienist was nice too . The doctor was nice and cleared all the concerns that the second dental hygienist was starting to put in my head.I was telling myself I would not come back here next time but the end of the conversation with the Dr made me change my mind, I will be back next week. ..

Always have had a great experience here. The staff, assistants and Amna the hygienist is awesome! Friendly people who are great at what they do! 10/10 recommended! Staff is excellent! Hygienist and Dentists are great people and know how to make you feel comfortable!

1st time coming to this dentist office and I must say, amazing staff. Amna and MeMe were the two that worked with me and they are a great team. They are professional while keeping there patients at ease.. I definitely recommend many within the short pump area to try out this dentist office. You won't be disappointed!!

Mimi, Amna, Dr. MacIlwaine, and the front office girls were awesome. They really checked my teeth with all these tools that I've never dealt with before. They know their stuff and are extra friendly and very helpful. I recommend their team to do it right. And Mimi deserves a raise. A big one.

The service and staff were excellent!! I needed a last-minute appointment for a filling. Dr Kowal and his staff went above and beyond to fit me in on the schedule. They made my visit comfortable and Dr Kowal explained everything he was doing in detail. Niya his dental assistant was so personable and as soon as I walked in she explained everything to me and what was coming next. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. She put me t ease. Kelly was prompt in calling me and getting everything straight with my insurance and appointment. She was welcoming and also went above and beyond with the level of service. This experience has resulted in me deciding to change to Dr Kowal as my dentist moving forward. I also have referred him to my daughter.

Excellent service little time span in getting final product (dentures) but overall everything was great receptionists and hygienists were all top notch!!
