Dr. Waterman is your guide on your journey to optimal oral health. He grew up in West Hartford and attended the Renbrook School and The Loomis Chaffee School before going on to earn a B.S. in biology, with minors in chemistry and music, at Butler University in Indianapolis, IN. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from The Baltimore College of Dental Surgery (the worlds first dental school) and continued his education with a one-year residency in general dentistry at the St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford, CT. Dr. Waterman was then fortunate enough to spend two years working for the Indian Health Service with the Navajo Nation in Arizona. Since moving back to Connecticut in 2007, Dr. Waterman has worked in a variety of public health and private practice settings, providing comprehensive care to a diverse patient population. He is also an alumnus of the National Health Service Corps.
Dr. Waterman has served as the co-chair for the Workforce Development Workgroup of the Connecticut Coalition for Oral Health, which strives to improve access to dental care for the people of Connecticut. His four daughters keep his wife and him busy shuttling around Connecticut from Middlefield where they make their home. Among other things, he enjoys singing, doing triathlons, and is always looking to learn new skills both at home and work.
Dr. Jacquelyn Pitcher is excited to provide high quality dental care to patients in Newington Connecticut. She believes in taking time to get to know patients' unique needs and providing education so that p atients feel are completely comfortable and at ease with their dental treatment.
Dr. Pitcher was born and raised in Connecticut, growing up in Wallingford and now residing in Newington. She attended the University of Connecticut and graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in molecular and cell biology. She attended the University of Connecticut for her dental education, where she earned her Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry. After dental school, she completed a one-year general practice r esidency at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT where she honed her skills and gained experience treating dental emergencies.

I love that I moved to this dental group and today made that clear. My tooth broke late in the day today and I called the office to see when I could go in this week. They said come in right now and I was back home within an hour with a fixed tooth. Their patient service and patient care is amazing!

Everyone is amazing! This practice is so welcoming and warm. I have extreme anxiety going to the dentist (as most people do) and it disappeared after just a few minutes with Grace! Dr Pitcher(hopefully I have her name right eek) was so kind and guided me step through step of the exam. I am so thankful to have found them!

I am a big fan of Dr. Waterman and the entire team at Family Dental and have been going to this dental group since 1981, its first iteration on Retreat Ave in Hartford with Jay Goldstein DDS. He was an excellent dentist and had an outstanding team, some of whom stayed with him for the rest of their/his careers. I have been living about an hour south of the office in Newington for four years and I'm happy to make the trip anytime! Dr Waterman and his team are expert clinicians and managers. If you want the best, book an appointment!
