Family Dental Health Services has been serving the Southeast Iowa community for over 35years. Their outlook is one of bettering the community by providing health education outreach to the local schools, as well as sponsoring numerous community activities and events to provide additional opportunities for Southeast Iowa residents to live a healthy life.
I find true fulfillment in helping people. When it comes to my patients dental health, I get the most satisfaction when helping them achieve optimal health and genuine happiness with a positive dental experience. I have enjoyed building meaningful, long-lasting relationships with my patients over the past 30+ years and look forward to many more years to come.
Dr. Matthew is excited to return and practice dentistry in his hometown of Mt. Pleasant! He is currently seeing patients Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday at Family Dental, located on the second floor of the Henry Co. Health Center. Dr. Matthew was honored to be selected to be an Adjunct faculty professor at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry on Wednesdays. He is a proud graduate of Mount Pleasant Community High School, Luther College and the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. In his spare time, Dr. Matthew loves Iowa Football, traveling the Midwest, and volunteering in the community.

I had a terrible experience when I went there as a teen. She kept drilling my tooth even though I was screaming at her to stop. Then she asked me if I could hold out for five more minutes. Needless to say I switched to iris dental. But then she charged me 70 bucks to send my dental records over. I will never go back to them.

I have never been disappointed by family dental!! They are the best!! I love everyone there! Dr. Mary is so understanding and listens to all my concerns.

I was very impressed with everything how at ease they made me feel because i have high anxiety going to the dentist. They were very thorough and everything and talked me through everything as to what was going to happen and what the future steps are going to be.

The staff at Family Dental has always gone above & beyond for myself & family. They are quick to get you in & get you taken care of. We have struggled finding a dentist who we actually enjoy going to. The whole staff is patient & kind with our kiddos as well! We won't go to anybody else!

I have dental anxiety and they have always spoken calmly and acknowledged my fear and concerns. Where I'm not thrilled about my personal life choices and heredity factors regarding my dental health, the staff have always worked their best to give me the best dental wellness they could.

All good, from availability of emergency appointment to work done. However, the temporary fix only lasted 23 hours, longer than I expected so I will look forward to having a permanent fix done asap.

Amazing! Family friendly environment from the moment you walk in until the second you leave. From the dentist to the assistants they truly care about your oral well being and want help you reach a healthy place. Never had any problems or concerns with billing, insurance, or practices. Everyone is very open and friendly and wants you to have an amazing experience. I've been going since I was young, although I no longer live in the area, I drive over an hour now to bring my family in for their dental needs. I couldn't imagine anyone else taking care of my family.

As another reviewer said, I would give this business zero stars if possible. They charge two to three times as much as other dentists in town. Mary is rude and condescending & does not do quality work (especially for what she charges!) She did a poor job at a filling that I had to have re-done at another dentist less than three months after she had done it. Would NEVER recommend.

Ever since i was little, I never did have a good dental experience. My family turned to Family Dental for a second opinion. Dr. Mary Wettach saved my teeth! Today i had the opportunity to have Dr. Matthew work on my teeth. I was beyond nervous! However, he talked me through everything and it was over (painlessly) before i knew it! I will definitely be back for semi annual cleanings and any dental work I need! They are a huge asset to our community!

I would give this business 0 stars if possible! They say one thing and do another. They charged us DOUBLE what they should have BEFORE submitting to insurance, then gave us a hard time about it! NOPE NEVER AGAIN!!!!!
