The staff has always been welcoming in all aspects. They have never made me feel self conscious in anyway about why I was there. That alone makes you feel more comfortable and it's much appreciated. Doctor has a great manner and always treats his patients with kindness and concerns.

My hygienist, Stephanie, is a real professional with great patience and I love that she really listens to the patient. My dentist is awesome as well and his recommendations for preventive dental are the best.

Family Dental Care of Champaign provides excellent service and are very good at diagnosing problems ahead of time. With this being said, after three years of being a patient, I will no longer be a patient here. Why? While the routine services are excellent, the flexibility on emergencies is poor. I had my root canal from 2018 reinfected and my tooth still had a nerve in it. This was done back in South Carolina. I was in so much pain every time I tried to bite down and it was throbbing uncontrollably for two days. I tried to get into Family Dental Care of Champaign for this emergency, but I was told I had to wait 10 days to see a dentist here. I called another dentist in Champaign, and they brought me in the first day, and I was able to see the endodontist that they referred me to all in the same day. To be fair, Family Dental Care of Champaign did inform me that an opening was available the day after I called them, but I had already had my emergency root canal procedure done by the time I would have seen Family Dental Care of Champaign. If I would have waited 10 days, the infection would have moved to the screws I have in my upper jaw from jaw surgery. This would have required an additional surgery on top of my root canal. I was very disappointed with Family Dental Care of Champaign on how they handled my emergency. In addition, the receptionist said that they would call me back about care I could take for my tooth in the meantime, but they didn't even call me back. I am not going to penalize Family Dental Care of Champaign to heavily here. If you have taken great care of your teeth throughout your life, Family Dental Care is great for their services. But they are not the best if you have major dental emergencies as I described. If you have a history of dental problems that may require emergency services, Family Dental Care of Champaign falls way short here.

This place hands down is the best place to go, this is coming from somebody that hates the dentist. The staff along with dr Alex wright was very polite and could sense my nervousness from the start of the door. Going in for a tooth extraction never having one before Alex wright and his team walked me through it all very politely and smoothly. In and out in less than 30 minutes.

Great first visit. Dr. Wright and brandy were great on educating me not only on what they were doing but what they were looking at and what their charts and such meant. Really appreciate that part of the visit today!

Dishonest and dangerous. Pressured our 18-year-old daughter into getting molar sealants that flaked off within in an hour; repeatedly dodging requests for a refund. Also said "You have multiple minor cavities we'd like to fill," which other dentists had not found.

*I am no longer a customer of this practice. Second, & sometimes third opinions are necessary & meaningful to your health. Also, research your needs prior to agreeing for services.* What I found interesting about this practice more than once, is that I was unable to get someone to answer the phone when I called. However, once I pressed "new client," they picked up & apologized for not answering the "existing client" telephone line. Visit: What I did appreciate about this dental practice is the cleanliness, professionalism, & the data collected about my teeth to ensure their health. It was very thorough. What I did not appreciate, however, is not being told ahead of time about the amount of time needed for a 1st time visit. It was stressful. From the x-rays, assessments, scans, and other exams, to the business office consultation in between all of that, seeing a rather expensive bill, & then the numerous other amount of tests afterwards. This practice sought to find every single potential & current oral problem, including suggesting Invisalign to me although I've had braces as a child. It seemed to me that whatever my dental insurance would pay for, this practice used it only to give me an itemized copy of a projected bill if I decided to have the procedures done. According to them, all of this was covered by my insurance as "routine exams," although I've never had all of this done under a "routine." All of this took over 2 hours of my time when I was only there for a dental cleaning. Finally, I had to ask how much longer because my teeth were not cleaned yet after 90 minutes! ?? When the services were declined prior to my cleaning, the Dentist did not review whether or not my teeth were cleaned to his satisfaction after they were cleaned which was new for me. After hygienists are done cleaning, my former dentists would check over their work which did not happen yesterday. Overall, my ultimate disappointment was not only with the amount of time needed for a cleaning, but also with regard to the change of behavior when I refused "extra/added" services. I rated this practice 4 stars because I do believe that you will be satisfied here, but be forewarned about my aforementioned comments.
