Family Dental Care has existed, in many forms, in this building at 150 N. Orange Avenue since 1952. Dr. Richard Moorer and his son Dr. Billy Moorer built the building in 1952, moving their practice from its previous location on Broad Street. In 1976, Dr. Bill Richardson joined his father-in-law, Dr. Billy Moorer, and expanded this location. In 2011, Dr. Ed Richardson joined his father, Dr. Bill Richardson who retired in 2018.
Dr. Ed Richardson grew up in Eufaula, graduating from Eufaula High School in 1996. He earned a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Auburn University in 2002, and started working at International Paper in Selma, Alabama as a process engineer. After almost 4 years with International Paper, he returned to Auburn University to gain his prerequisites and apply to dental school. Ed graduated from UAB School of Dentistry in 2011 earning The Academy of General Dentistry Senior Student Award and the Department of Prosthodontics Best of the Best Award. Ed moved back to Eufaula in June 2011 with his wife, Caty, whom he married in 2002, and their three children Marianna, Maddox, and Mac. Upon returning to his hometown of Eufaula, Ed joined Family Dental Care. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Alabama Dental Association, and The Academy of General Dentistry. Ed and his family are members of First United Methodist Church of Eufaula where he sings in the chancel choir. Ed is also a graduate of Leadership Barbour Class 6 and former President of the Eufaula-Barbour County Chamber of Commerce.

Couldnt even get an appointment because they aren't taking any new patients in. In a town where theres very few places to get care, the denial doesnt make it better.

We switched to Family Dental Care when our dentist retired. It has been a pleasant experience since then. Greatly appreciate their thoroughness, efficiency, and how well they explain what is occurring in our health.
