Dr. Jerry Todd McClaran was born and raised here in Cape Coral, FL. His father, Dr. C.E. McClaran, established one of the first dental practices in Cape Coral in 1972. I grew up seeing how much my Dad loved practicing dentistry, and as long as I could remember, I wanted to follow in his footsteps. Dentistry has become somewhat of a McClaran family tradition. Dr. Scott McClaran has a striving dental practice in Fort Myers. I am very proud of my brother; he is a great dentist, and he has a beautiful practice. Our wives can testify that family gatherings can, on occasion, turn into a dental symposium Dentists love to talk about teeth.
Following his three years of service in the Air Force, Dr. McClaran, his wife, Nona, and then one-year-old daughter, Dakotah, moved back to Cape Coral. I really enjoyed my time in the Air Force. I was fortunate to be mentored by some great Air Force dentists during the residency program, and I gained a ton of valuable experience. When my service commitment ended, my wife and I were very excited to move back to Florida. I love the Cape; it is my home. I couldnt wait to get back to our family, the great weather, the water, and fishing.
A huge point of emphasis with Dr. McClaran and his staff is treating patients as if they were family. I am very fortunate to have such a great staff. They bring years of dental experience to the table. Simply put, at Family Dental Care, we want everyone to have the same level of care we would give our parents, sisters, brothers, sons, and daughters. Another area importance is patient education. My job is to provide as much information as possible and help patients make an educated decision regarding their oral health.
Dr. McClaran stays up-to-date with the latest research, technology, and techniques to improve patient confidence and comfort. When first visiting our office, it is all about building confidence and addressing a patients chief concerns. We want people to come in, see our office, and talk to the staff and me. We encourage our patients to ask a lot of questions and make a well-informed decision about their dental health.

Great experience at the Family Dental Care! Doctor and staff are very professional and friendly. Well informed in every step of the procedures! I have had several dental cleaning in many places in the past years but the dental hygienists here are excellent, professional, and well knowledge. I have been recommended Dr. McClaren and his services to my friends and neighbors.

I would recommend them because moving here from New Jersey we were very pleased with this facility and their staff. Excellent service we received from 2017. Rose is one of the hygienist I seen today, who is very thorough, giving advice how we can improve while brushing & flossing.

Not impressed. My mouth hurt for hours after a cleaning I got done here. Tried to talk me into getting Invisalign while scraping my teeth and telling me I really should have been scheduled for a different cleaning. They also told me I need two fillings which I was going to pay out of pocket for. I went to another dentist and they told me I don't even need those fillings done. They also filter their bad reviews because I posted this 4 months ago and it has been deleted so I'm reposting it.

Great experience. I took my daughters and they were very detailed and patient. The hygienists explained my daughters' dental exam and recommendations in detail without rushing. The doctor was also very informative and caring. The front desk receptionist was very welcoming and professional. Glad I found them online.

Friendly,knowledgeable,efficient staff! My hygienist Betty is the best hygienist I have ever had! She is highly skilled and tailors her recommendations to your individual needs. Dr. McClaren is awesome too. If your looking for a new dentist I highly recommend these folks. Clerical staff is excellent as well and handles everything for you in a smooth process. Try this office you will be glad you did!

Everyone in the office is very friendly and accommodating . Rose does a great job cleaning and maintaining healthy teeth. She is thorough and knowledgeable . Dr McClaran is a very caring and professional dentist. He seeks options for different treatments and will refer you to a periodontist or other specialist if he feels the treatment warrants another expertise. I would definitely recommend Family Dental Care.
